Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: Hunger

At the very bottom of the Endless Abyss.

On the throne that represented death and decay, Chu Hao watched with interest everything the Demon Prince Fabuti was doing.

It was obvious that during his invasion of this world, Fabuti, the oldest of the Demon Princes, displayed the cunning he was known for.

Compared to the other Demon Princes, Fabuti's pace of conquest was clearly much faster.

"Using the will of this world as a guise to lure living beings into corruption, ultimately allowing his own will to manifest…"

"Not a bad strategy."

Chu Hao opened his eyes, and the crimson whirlpool within them slowly rotated.

With the help of Demon Prince Fabuti, he began to truly observe the world before him.

"A rule where sacrifices can even supplement the world's will…"

In Chu Hao's vision, within this new world slowly rising from the corpses of the old world, a massive world consciousness came into view.

A world consciousness that emitted green and white light, growing continuously alongside this world.

This world consciousness was enjoying the sacrifices from other races, while channeling part of the benefits back to the followers in the form of [Blessings].

Through this sacrificial process, the world consciousness became increasingly complete.

In Chu Hao's eyes, it was rapidly transforming from an unconscious collective into a self-aware entity.

However, such a transformation required tens of thousands of years of accumulation.

This world, having come into contact with the Abyss, no longer had that opportunity.

During his observation of the world consciousness, Chu Hao realized something crucial.

He finally understood why the growth of the world consciousness required sacrifices, and why this new world could slowly develop.

Chu Hao looked "beneath" this world, toward the old world that had already turned to ashes.

This new world was treating the old world as its "food."

But while Chu Hao was still focused on the Secret Realm he was conquering, outside the Mist Realm, near the deepest part of the void, two beams of light were moving rapidly.

They flashed like lightning across the Secret Realm, endlessly searching for traces of the Zerg that Peter had asked them to investigate.

After a long investigation, the two angels finally made a new discovery.

Even with minds as strong as steel, the two angels felt an instinctive fear toward what they now faced.

"This is…"

One angel trembled as she asked the other, standing in the void.

"What?"

When they had first received Peter's orders, they had assumed they only needed to search a somewhat "dangerous" Secret Realm.

In their imagination, the supposedly powerful Zerg were nothing more than a collection of unintelligent pests that only knew how to reproduce.

But was that really the case?

"This is… the prophecy's…"

"Nemesis!"

The other angel also trembled as she spoke.

Before them was an unimaginably vast and terrifying Secret Realm.

This realm constantly emitted dreadful whispers into the void, reaching all the Secret Realms it swept across.

These whispers carried only one meaning:

Hunger.
