Chapter 128 - Chapter 128: Zerg and the Limits

With no worries holding him back, Chu Hao faced the gray Zerg with complete disregard.

Compared to the gods, and even the trapped Secret Realms, his interest in these Zerg far surpassed everything else.

During the first wave of attack, the number of demons released from the Endless Abyss had already reached a terrifying level.

Of course, even so, the number of demons was still a fraction compared to the countless Zerg.

Meanwhile, Demon Prince Fabuti and the others had received Chu Hao's orders to accelerate the assault on the figure-eight world.

When the black mist finally intertwined with the gray tide, and the demon army clashed with the Zerg, Chu Hao realized he might have made a critical misjudgment.

He had underestimated the Zerg…

He had underestimated this species capable of occupying an entire nascent multiverse!

And it wasn't just him—everyone had underestimated these terrifying creatures.

---

In the void…

"Hahaha, insects?"

Demon Eyem looked at the surging Zerg without fear.

He even grinned cruelly at these tiny ants.

Not just him—most of the native demons didn't pay much attention to the Zerg.

They were simply too weak!

"Crack! Crack!"

Eyem stomped his foot, crushing dozens of Zerg "vanguard soldiers" into a mess.

Fragile as they were, the Zerg posed no real threat to demons on the edge of demigod power.

Eyem laughed as he looked at the swarming Zerg corpses beneath his feet.

Demons, unlike ordinary creatures, didn't feel negative emotions when facing mountains of corpses.

Instead, such horrifying environments acted as a "medicine" to keep them in high spirits.

"I didn't expect you disgusting little creatures to be this weak!"

Eyem jeered, tearing and trampling the Zerg with his kin.

On the other side, Chu Hao was analyzing this special breed of Zerg.

He collected a few intact Zerg bodies for examination.

The results confirmed some crucial traits.

"First, they clearly have a hive-mind consciousness."

Chu Hao pried open the skull of a beetle-like Zerg and found a shrunken brain inside.

"Shrunken" wasn't quite accurate; a better word was "refined."

Unlike other creatures, this Zerg's brain had been refined to the extreme.

Its only function, besides controlling basic movements, was to obey the hive's commands, translating them into fundamental behaviors—feeding, attacking, and so on.

The Zerg's structure was simple, but this simplicity was highly evolved.

Each limb, each muscle, was a pinnacle of evolution.

Unlike chaotic, twisted demons, the Zerg body was almost a work of art: pure, efficient, and utterly loyal.

"The design of this species…"

Chu Hao squinted and used his divine fire to simulate the Zerg's abilities.

"It really opened my eyes."

Even the strongest beast designers in the academies could not craft Zerg of this caliber.

This was the work of a creator who had discarded all emotions and constructed a lifeform under absolute precision.

Though the Zerg appeared weak, each required minimal resources to create.

By comparison, every native demon consumed vast amounts of resources to be born.

Even the minor demons Chu Hao designed consumed dozens to hundreds of times more resources than one Zerg.

Yet, these seemingly insignificant Zerg had optimized every unit of resource into highly functional bodies.

Need to hunt? They were perfect killing machines.

Need to transport? Efficient laborers.

Need to perform other tasks? The right type of Zerg always existed.

Every fraction of resource was used to the extreme.

In fact…

Their design had surpassed Chu Hao's previously understood "limits."

"So, what makes them so special? Is it their genetic sequence?"

Chu Hao waved his hand, displaying the Zerg DNA before his eyes.

He prepared to inject this DNA into Abyssal creatures to see how they would evolve.

---

But as Chu Hao focused on the Zerg genetics, the demon army in the field began noticing…

The situation was… not as expected.
