"Oya! Oya! Oya! Oya! Oya!"
When everyone has to be in their beds, I won't judge them when they don't hear these cries. It was the worst possible for a baby. I mean, as I start this monologue, the shabby box where I reside starts piling up with snow. Though, I didn't understand how a baby could survive this weather. Does the mother not watch the weather forecast before throwing out her baby?
I should have died, not screaming and begging for help. I mean, the only vocabulary I had was "Oya! Oya!" so I couldn't do much. Until I heard a rattle.
"A baby? How cruel."
It's a girl. I think she is about 10 or older. Wait, she just talks in Japanese.
"Mikoto, aren't you supposed to be asleep now? Do I need to remind you of the orphanage rules?"
A much older woman's voice came from inside.
"Ah! I'm sorry, but I just heard a baby cry."
It seems this place is an orphanage. After learning about a baby left in the cold, of course, a sane person would rush to save the baby, not kill them.
"You stop crying after I warm you. Hm, it's a boy, huh? Well, don't worry. Big sister will protect you."
Her name is Mikoto. Her name is somehow familiar. Until I saw it. I've been staring at weird symbols on the wall. A fan symbol. Is that the Uchiha Clan symbol? Ah, shit. Don't tell me.
"Anyone come up with a name yet?"
"What about you, Mikoto? Do you have an idea?"
"I just did." Mikoto smiles at me while rubbing my cheek. "How about Kaworu?"
And that's how I start my new life.
