Chapter 48 - How's your Mind consumption?

Chapter 48 - How's your Mind consumption?

With a sliver of hope, Noah instinctively turned around, his gaze sweeping across the cavern. Coke, crystals, coke, multicolored blackened crystals... That was all. Nothing was left. Perhaps a few lucky remnants of magic stones and drop items could be found buried under the scorched earth, but most of the spoils from that long battle had undoubtedly been destroyed by the magic.

In other words, his gains from that exciting battle were almost zero. Realizing this, Noah, already mentally exhausted from the magic use, almost fainted.

...

Realizing that he had fought fiercely but earned almost nothing, Noah felt a pang of heartache. It took him about ten seconds to recover. As he slowly turned around, he tried to adjust his expression. When Noah met Riveria's clear, serious, yet somewhat playful emerald eyes again, he had regained his composure.

He raised his armored right hand, making a small distance between his index finger and thumb. "The control issue is just a minor one. After all, it's the first time, and there will always be problems: too fast, too forceful, too impatient. As long as I'm more patient and gentler next time..."

Riveria's expression changed drastically, and she glared fiercely at Noah. "Idiot! What are you saying in front of Ais!" With a fierce expression, she raised her staff, as if she would give Noah a good whack on the head.

The sudden outburst left Noah stunned, his mind even more blank than when he realized he had destroyed the drop items.

What did I do? The hand that was gesturing froze in place. Noah exchanged a glance with Ais, who was equally bewildered, and tentatively spoke.

"I... I was talking about magic. Because it was my first time using it, I didn't control my power well. I attacked too fast, so I destroyed the magic stone and the drop items. But I can sense that there are more refined ways to use this magic. With more practice, I won't do it like this next time..."

Looking at Noah, who was so cautious, Riveria came to her senses.

Right, Noah isn't Loki. Why would he deliberately say those things? Damn it, it's all that Loki's fault, spending all day spouting lewd lines while harassing the female members! It's triggered my stress!

Awkwardly putting down her staff, Riveria felt Noah and Ais casting confused glances at her, and her cheeks immediately flushed. She couldn't help but tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, using the gesture to conceal her expression.

Explanation? Impossible. Otherwise, I'd face that "I never expected Riveria, who looks so serious, would know so much" gaze.

Well, I've become the kind of despicable person I used to hate. A slight sense of self-loathing swept over Riveria.

"Ahem, well, since you know your shortcomings, hurry up and get to training." With a wave of her arm, her robe billowing, Riveria regained the composed expression befitting the city's top mage. "Next time, remember not to cause too much damage to the Dungeon environment, or it might cause anomalies... How's your Mind consumption?"

Although Noah was curious about what had made Riveria so angry, he felt that if he asked, something bad might happen. "Well, it probably used up about one tenth of my Mind, but I've almost recovered while we've been talking."

Recovered so quickly?

Riveria couldn't help but look at the massively damaged cave, feeling a sense of awe.

Leaving aside the recovery ability, is Noah's total Mind astonishingly high, or is the consumption of that magic actually very small?
