Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Birth of The Anomaly.

The rules of the hunt in the mortal realm was known by all gods. Artemis and Diana are not allowed to use their divinity unless they are facing someone in the same level as a god. The monster in front of them may have the ability to use divinity, but it still does not pass the level which would allow them to use theirs. If they wanted to battle, they can only use their own mortal bodies.

But knowing this did not make them feel frustrated in any way, instead the goddess that flickered between the Greek and Roman suddenly had a similarly wide grin that brought shivers to the beast's instincts.

"" Fighting divinity with a mortal body, its been a long time since I had such fun"" Horrifyingly, both of their voices resonated at the same time. The beast felt like he was watching them combine into one.

He had known the territory he was coming to. That's why he had used the powers of his people that made dual personalities come out of hiding in a person. Knowing that Greek and Roman gods were at their throats all the time, he chose the border between their locations and planned to make the gods struggle with their counterpart while he attacked while they were distracted. But he had never imagined such a monster was present that would put away their grudge just to hunt him down.

The fight that ensued later was not at all noteworthy in the eyes of the two Goddesses, they thought they will have an opponent experienced in battled for countless millennia. But they were disappointed, the beast lost any sign of intelligent battle prowess the moment he found out he was outmatched and just used the entire energy it had to do a suicidal move that destroyed itself.

Both the goddesses looked at their arm to find a faint wound that dripped ichor on to the forest ground. A wound that only stayed that long because the last attack had contained divinity.

"The hunters might have had a hard time with that attack, but they would have prevailed at the end" Artemis remarked.

"My romans would have done better" Diana countered.

Even though they had decided to work together moments ago, they cannot be described as allies. The chances of compromise was really low between them as compromise required one to concede first. And as the hunters they were, conceding means choosing the path where the other is considered as superior.

Something that neither of them will never accept.

This soon led to them bickering with each other, distracting them from what was happening to the ichor that they bled.

In the Realm of Fates.

The three fates of the loom paused as they sensed something wrong with their loom. As they watched, a new string formed within it, separating itself from the tapestries it was supposed to join with and remained singular.

For a moment the three fates were shocked as they realised what this meant.

An Anomaly, something outside of their control of fates while at the same time with enough power to have his influence upon any tapestry.

As they watched, the string turned pure silver with traces of forest green within it.

The fates did not hesitate. They had never met anything like this before. Experimenting was more dangerous than they can imagine. So, it was better to nip it in the bud. But as they moved their scissor to cut the string, they paused. And for the first time ever, the fates born as old women, cold faced with no emotion, suddenly showed traces of fear.

They felt it. If they moved against the string, they would vanish, die with no chance to revive even if the entire world believed in their existence.

The fates were shaken, they understood what it meant. They knew the true history of the world. The gods were reliant on the beliefs of humans to sustain themselves; they never thought about why it is as their arrogance in their being makes them ignore that question.

But as fates who are able to see the life of every living being, they knew the truth. The history that each pantheon has about their gods creating the world was wrong. Their memories were fabricated. It was mortals who came to this world first and wished to have powerful beings to protect them from the harm of all other creatures.

The only way humans can have a bit of hope in the nights was telling stories to their children to make them believe their struggle was for the good. Not knowing that these stories will lead to the creation of such fabricated beings.

The Fates had always known this secret. And had wondered whether there was a true God that existed without human intervention, without their beliefs. And today they found out.

The Fates shivered as realisation hit. They wondered what to do and suddenly the answer came to them.

'Ignore and continue as planned'

All of them looked at each other and decided to follow that path. To let the solitary string in the loom remain that way. And they also decided on another matter without any words.

The fact that there was a being who can be called God actually exists.

They never heard of it!!!

The fates continued their work as before without any signs of them having their concept of reality and truth being broken just moments ago.

Back in Earth.

Artemis and Diana paused their bickering as they felt something unbelievable right behind them. They turned around to find a child laying down on the grass while looking straight at them.

They did not take long to realise what happened. The child was born from their Ichor that they bled in their fight. The lack of their blood that was present in the ground just moments ago confirmed it even more.

They immediately moved towards the child and picked him up. The moment they touched the child, they knew it was their own. The Goddess of Childbirth who never had a child of her own had finally had a child that had her blood flowing through him.

Artemis used her powers and realised that the form of birth had changed the boy's body in an entirely different way. The child was quarter Artemis, quarter Diana and half mortal. Turning into an existence that combined the Greek and Roman side while retaining the freedom that a mortal possessed.

But instead of being happy, both Artemis and Diana realised something.

A/N- hope you like it.
