Chapter 46 - University of History

Zaya yawned, gazing at the ground below through the window, dragging the bag beside her, she strutted down the stairs of the airplane.

She had arrived in England, she walked towards one of the check points in the airport.

"Good evening, miss," the attendant said before checking Zaya's details. "Welcome to England."

Zaya smiled. "I'm glad to be here," she responded with a smile. She then commenced to complete the rest of her application and left the airport.

Zaya hailed a cab, directly heading for the University's location. The ride in the cab was smooth.

Zaya stared out the window at the large buildings. The breeze whooshing over her face.

*** The Viper Viking had limited his attacks to the western coast drastically, simply because the gem needed to destroy the diamond stone existed there, so he had to proceed with caution.

Zaya stepped out of the cab, pulling the travelling bag behind her as she gazed at the university's gate. "Wellington's University of History."

It wasn't Zaya's dream to study history or anything of that sort, but in order to get a gem from a mountain, she needed to know more about the history of the realms.

Especially when magic has returned and various institutions have began acclimatizing to the changes.

"Wellington University, here I come," Zaya muttered to herself, proceeding into the gate. After which she headed for the registry hall.

Thanks to Natasha, some strings were pulled, which got both her and Ashara into respective universities without them having to apply.

Zaya gazed up to the sky, she was going to miss them a lot.

*** The night before

After the meeting, each of them had gone home, all except for Zoey, she remained in the headquarters without the knowledge of the others.

She strolled out of the main section, taking an elevator and heading straight to the room that was allocated to her in the headquarters.

She entered her room, then muttered to herself, smirking, "Thank you for the mission you've given, Zaya. The Inevitable promises to not let you down."

She then spoke to the voice-operated vending machine on her left. "A bag of chips, please."

"Password verified. Who am I speaking with?" The vending machine asked.

"It's me," Zoey replied, grabbing the bag of chips that came out of the machine.

Various clanks could be heard in the walls of the room as it restructured itself.

The room began to descend, dropping downwards at full speed, it was so fast, Zoey slowly rose from the ground, levitating. There was a loud thud as the building stopped abruptly, she hit the ground back.

The vending machine then spoke, "You have reached Zoey's hub."

Zoey opened the door of her room, walking out. Ahead of her was a pool filled with hot lava, a naked girl sat in the middle, her eyes closed.

"You've been gone a while, master," the girl voiced, opening her shut crimson eyes which perfectly complemented the red lava. She stepped out of the lava, shaking the liquid off her body.

Zoey then brought out a Phoenix emblem from her pocket, tossing it to the naked girl. "I had June get me another, this is yours, Ronin."

"Now," Zoey said smirking. "You have a reason to come out of hiding."

"From now on, I am the Inevitable. It is now time."

*** Zaya had registered for her courses and chosen a room. She was now currently at the front of one of the hostels, among a crowd of students making a phone call.

"Yes, I promise to stay safe. If you need anything, Zaya, promise to tell me, alright?" The voice on the other end spoke. "Don't go too far and call me whenever you have the chance."

"Yes, Mum, I promise I will. I love you, goodbye."

"I love you too," Zaya replied, cutting the call.

Zaya weaved through the oceans of humans as she entered the building. She stood at the front of the room she'd chosen, pushing the door, it creaked open, a warm smile spread across Zaya's face as she stared at the cozy room.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed in a corner was an eastern-looking girl who wore bum shorts and a crop top with glasses.

On sighting Zaya, she smiled and spoke, "Welcome to our humble abode, I'm glad to have you here, my name is Zuri."

Zaya was shocked, how could she have survived the east, she thought to herself, although she couldn't sense any primordial energy emitting from the girl, which was strange, there must be more to her, Zaya concluded.

"Thanks," replied Zaya as she stated her name. "I like the room's decorations," Zaya complemented, staring at the different colours on the walls. "Were you the one who fixed it?"

"Yes, I was," replied Zuri excitedly, "thanks for the compliment."

"Would you like a tour of the place?" Zuri asked.

"Yes, I do," Zaya answered, dragging her bag into the room and shutting the door with her feet.

After settling down, Zaya went on a tour trip with Zuri around the University. Zuri had been in the University a little bit earlier than Zaya, she showed Zaya around the classes, updating her on everything she knew, which also included the rule that students can't leave the University till the school trimester is over.

For the safety of the students and that war could break out at any time.

Zuri introduced Zaya to some of her friends, after which they all went ahead to grab some drinks and returned back to the hostel.

Zaya immediately fell in love with the college life, almost wishing she wasn't a half-breed fox who was the reincarnate of the great warrior Edeth.

But there was no going back, Zaya knew there was war knocking on the door, and she had no choice but to win it.

That midnight, cold wind gushed out from the air conditioner, almost freezing the room, Zuri had invited their friends and they all had a sleep over.

Zaya slept on her bed, her fingers tapping frequently in a rhythmic manner, as she tilted continuously. Her eyes suddenly snapped open, glowing purple in contrast with the dimly lit room.

She then murmured to herself, "Scaflfell Pike, here I come."
