Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Ron · Rock Lee · Weasley

Ron was actually a child with deep-seated feelings of inferiority.

In the Weasley household, he had always been the least favored one.

His older brothers were all extremely outstanding.

The eldest, Bill, worked as a Curse-Breaker at Gringotts.

It should be known that Gringotts, the Ministry of Magic, and St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries could be considered the three "iron rice bowls" of the British wizarding world.

Countless students graduating from Hogwarts took pride in receiving an offer from these three institutions.

With so many wizards dreaming of entering these three institutions, the level of competition naturally became fierce.

So, one could imagine the difficulty of entering Gringotts as a Curse-Breaker.

In his fifth year, Bill Weasley achieved twelve certificates in his O.W.Ls exams and served as Head Boy during the 1988-1989 school year.

O.W.Ls is the abbreviation for Ordinary Wizarding Levels.

If placed in the Muggle world, the status of this exam would be roughly equivalent to the high school entrance exam or college entrance exam; your grades determine which advanced classes you can take.

For courses like Potions and Transfiguration after the fifth year, students are required to achieve a certain grade in this exam before they can enter the advanced classes.

This is quite similar to filling out applications for desired universities after the college entrance exam.

And when Hogwarts students reach their seventh year, there is another exam called N.E.W.Ts.

N.E.W.Ts is the abbreviation for Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests.

Its status is equivalent to the civil service exams or postgraduate entrance exams in modern China; its results determine which organization will send you an offer.

Being able to enter Gringotts, Bill's N.E.W.T. results were, of course, also extremely excellent.

The second eldest, Charlie, didn't have academic grades as outstanding as Bill's, but he possessed incredibly high talent in other areas.

For instance, Quidditch. After joining the Gryffindor Quidditch team, he had always been a key player.

Aside from Quidditch, Charlie also had high talent in combat magic. While studying at Hogwarts, Charlie always achieved excellent grades in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms.

If not for this, he wouldn't be able to work with dragons at the dragon sanctuary in Romania.

It takes at least ten adult wizards to subdue a fully grown fire dragon, so one can imagine the danger.

Without profound attainment in charms, one could not be competent for this job.

As for Percy, he was the only outlier in the Weasley family without a sense of humor.

Although his younger brothers always thought he was the world's biggest fool, they had to admit that Percy was truly excellent.

His grades were always very good, fully comparable to Bill's.

Then there were the comedic duo, George and Fred. Although Mrs. Weasley always expressed worry about the brothers' talent for pranks, this couldn't hide their brilliance in certain areas.

Only in their third year, the brothers had already displayed super high talent in Alchemy.

George's alchemical battle armor and Fred's Explosive Clay—these two alchemical products had been praised by Dumbledore.

When it came to Ron, because his five older brothers were all sufficiently excellent, no matter how well he performed, it was all overshadowed by the halos of his brothers.

Add to that the fact that he had a most beloved little sister, and Ron became the most overlooked young son in the family.

He always used second-hand items passed down from his brothers—old clothes, old textbooks, even his wand was old, worn down so severely that the unicorn hair inside poked out from the end.

This made him lack a certain amount of love and attention from a young age.

Not to mention that after entering Hogwarts, his friends were each more outstanding than the last.

For example, before even stepping into the wizarding world, his good friend Harry Potter already possessed a long string of titles like Savior of the British Wizarding World, The Boy Who Lived, and Nemesis of the Dark Lord.

Then there was the genius girl Hermione Granger, who possessed a brilliant mind, had memorized all first-year textbooks before enrollment, and had mastered a large amount of magic that would only be learned in the second or third year—praised by every professor except the old bat.

And a certain someone with the surname Dumbledore.

Even the most inconspicuous Hannah Abbott had her talent in medical magic recognized by Madam Pomfrey.

Long overshadowed by the brilliance of others, Ron had always harbored feelings of inferiority.

Only Neville Longbottom, a fellow sufferer in hardship, allowed Ron to find a bit of superiority.

Ron knew that whether it was talent in Charms, Alchemy, Medical Arts, or Quidditch, he had little possibility of surpassing his brothers and friends.

In that case, why couldn't he find a different path and follow Hagrid to cultivate Taijutsu?

Although he didn't possess half-giant blood like Hagrid, that wasn't a problem.

Wasn't Kyle cultivating Taijutsu too?

Wizards did not lack methods to strengthen the physical body; it was just that modern wizards wouldn't spend time and energy tempering their bodies.

So, magic in this area slowly declined.

But decline did not mean it was lost. Among the Weasley family's hereditary magic, there were some spells in this area; Ron had seen them in his father Arthur's study.

Besides this, Ron had also read in History of Magic that a thousand years ago, Godric Gryffindor, one of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was a wizard who cultivated both magic and martial arts.

Gryffindor, who possessed a powerful body, was the most outstanding duelist of his era. Wielding a wand in one hand and the Sword of Gryffindor in the other, he made his enemies tremble with fear.

If he could also master the Eight Inner Gates, even if he couldn't become a great wizard like Gryffindor or surpass Dumbledore, surely becoming an elite Auror at the Ministry of Magic wouldn't be a problem, right?

That was all Ron hoped for.

He looked at Kyle with burning eyes, practically ready to slide tackle him into a kneel. "Coach! I want to learn Taijutsu!"

Facing Ron's request, Kyle was quite surprised.

It seemed he had...

Inadvertently assembled the Hogwarts "Blue Beast" duo—a master and disciple pair like Might Guy and Rock Lee?

Since that was the case, Kyle pulled another item out of his ninja tool pouch—a green jumpsuit identical to Hagrid's that he had prepared long ago—and began modifying it on the spot using Transfiguration.

It was originally prepared for Neville; Kyle had been thinking of tricking the chubby boy into learning Taijutsu with him.

But now it seemed he had a better candidate.

However, this meant the size of the jumpsuit needed to be adjusted slightly, though that wasn't much trouble.

In no time, Kyle handed the green jumpsuit to Ron, infusing it with a "soul."

Looking at the hideously ugly green jumpsuit in his hands, the corner of Ron's mouth twitched.

He suddenly didn't want to learn Taijutsu anymore.

The final results of the experiment showed that Hagrid, without any prior tempering of his body, could open the Eight Inner Gates Formation up to the fourth gate, the Gate of Pain.

If he disregarded the damage the Eight Inner Gates caused to the body, the fifth gate, the Gate of Limit, could also be opened.

With Hagrid's physical constitution, as long as he didn't maintain the state of the fifth gate for a long time under overload, the bodily damage could be recovered very quickly with the aid of potions.

If it really came to a do-or-die situation, it wasn't impossible for Hagrid to forcibly force open the sixth gate.

It was just that in that case, Hagrid might have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

However, Kyle felt that there were no enemies in the current wizarding world capable of forcing Hagrid to the point where he needed to forcibly open the sixth gate.

It must be known that a half-giant's natural magic resistance was already very impressive.

And after opening the Gate of Life, the magical fluctuations dissipating from Hagrid's body acted, to a certain extent, like a protective aura.

Simply put, it could help Hagrid offset part of a spell's power, raising the half-giant's magic resistance to a new level.

Unless it was a wizard on the level of Dumbledore or Grindelwald, Kyle couldn't think of anyone else who could break through Hagrid's defense.

Moreover, those two ceilings of combat power were on their side, not enemies, so Hagrid could basically be considered to have reached the peak of his life.

Kyle was very satisfied with this result.

He believed that given Hagrid a few years, supplemented by a large amount of potions that could improve physical fitness, he could definitely force open the seventh gate.

Kyle didn't expect Hagrid to be able to open the Gate of Death.

He wasn't a certain powerhouse of "Talk-no-Jutsu," nor did he have an old man gifting him cheat codes, so it was impossible for him to keep Hagrid alive after he used "Night Guy."

Moreover, even with just the Taijutsu usable up to the seventh gate, the Gate of Wonder—"Daytime Tiger"—its power would be enough to let Hagrid walk unhindered through the wizarding world.
