Chapter 270 - Chapter 270: Cedric, the Snake, the Handsome Man, and Sword-Swallowing

"This... is far too valuable." Staring at the mithril greatsword placed before him, Cedric was stunned.

Mithril was sold by the gram on the market, and its price exceeded that of an equivalent weight of gold several times over.

Even though mithril only made up a small fraction of the sword's overall materials, it would still cost at least five or six thousand Galleons just to gather the components, not to mention the manufacturing costs.

Cedric pushed the greatsword back. "I can't accept this."

"If you don't take it, I'm just going to throw it away."

Kyle's words sounded like a joke, but Cedric could hear from his tone that he was completely serious.

He couldn't help but ask, "Why?"

"No particular reason. I just purely don't want this sword anymore."

Kyle shoved the sword, scabbard and all, directly into his hands. Cedric knew the reason couldn't possibly be that simple, but he stopped refusing.

In front of the little Otaria, Kyle obviously couldn't tell Cedric straight out that this sword had harmed Hermione, which was why he now deeply detested and even hated it.

Throwing it away directly would be a bit of a waste.

It just so happened that after Cedric fused with the basilisk bloodline, the degree of fusion had gradually deepened over time, and the magic contained within his bloodline grew grander by the day.

Right now, his original wand was already becoming somewhat unable to withstand his massive magic.

This thing, being an exotic wand forged from mithril, was a perfect fit for Cedric.

Holding the sword in his hands, Cedric pondered where he should keep it normally so that it would be relatively convenient to draw and use.

A wand could be kept in a sleeve, but this thing definitely couldn't fit.

And if he threw it into his spatial pouch, because there were too many miscellaneous items inside, he would have to grope around for a while to find it when he wanted to use it.

If he encountered an emergency and wanted to draw his wand, that would be fatal.

After thinking for a moment, Cedric suddenly opened his mouth wide right in front of everyone…

And then swallowed the sword straight into his stomach.

Keywords: Cedric, snake, handsome man, sword-swallowing.

It's you!

The meritorious, beautiful snake-spirit!

Seeing everyone around looking completely shocked, Cedric scratched the back of his head. "This is... uh, a bloodline talent of the basilisk."

Kyle pulled another sword out of his ninja tool pouch. It wasn't forged from mithril, however, but was just an ordinary steel sword.

"Come, come, come, do another one!"

Cedric's face instantly darkened.

Are you treating me like a street performer?

Is this young master that kind of person?

Seeing Cedric hesitate to move, Kyle reached his hand into his ninja tool pouch once more.

A dozen or so Thunderbird feathers were placed in front of Cedric. These had all been shed by Lan during molting season and were excellent materials for crafting wand cores.

How sweet!

Cedric grabbed the sword and swallowed it right down, then blissfully scooped up the feathers in front of him into his ninja tool pouch.

As a result, Kyle pulled out a Fangtian halberd.

Hey, hey, hey! That's about enough!

"A new species of magical tree that I modified and bred based on the Whomping Willow. Using it to craft wand shafts is several times better than using the Whomping Willow."

A large bundle of branches was placed on the dining table.

How sweet!

The Fangtian halberd went into Cedric's stomach as well.

The Black Cleaver that had sliced off the old bat's arm back then was placed on the dining table, accompanied by twenty grams of priceless mithril that couldn't be bought on the market.

The number of weapons inside the ninja tool pouch gradually dwindled, and Kyle's inventory of alchemy materials shrank along with it.

However, to the wealthy and powerful Kyle, this didn't matter at all.

"Mgh... my mouth can barely close... don't bring any more out..."

What terrible dialogue…

Seeing Kyle pull out yet another weapon, Cedric's eyes widened, and he shook his head in sheer panic.

Glancing at the wizarding robes on Cedric, which had visibly bulged out a whole circle, Kyle finally stopped pulling out weapons to make Cedric perform sword-swallowing.

The people around them all looked at the two with lines of exasperation all over their faces.

According to incomplete statistics, Cedric had just swallowed a total of thirteen Fangtian halberds, over twenty longswords, five giant battle-axes, countless kunai, and two pairs of Huitian and Miedie.

Cedric originally wouldn't have been able to bring himself to do something so disgraceful.

But unfortunately, Kyle had given far too much.

The batch of magical materials Kyle had thrown out just now was worth at least five thousand Galleons.

Now, for a considerable period, he wouldn't have to worry about materials for forging wands.

Furthermore, if he wanted to experiment with some messy, exotic wands—such as sword-type wands or Gatling wands—he also had materials to burn.

George and Fred both stared with faces full of envy at the pile of alchemy materials stacked on the table in front of Cedric.

Why didn't the two of them know this particular talent?

"I heard Professor Dumbledore say you became an Obscurial?"

Once Cedric had collected the alchemy materials on the table into his spatial pouch, the sentence he threw out instantly drew the attention of the large crowd around the table once more.

"An Obscurial..." Hermione looked at Kyle in alarm. "Then doesn't that mean..."

Kyle waved his hand. "It's fine. I can control it, so there won't be any bad effects."

In terms of control over magic, Kyle could completely be called the number one person in the wizarding world—of course, that was before his Obscurus erupted.

With his magic suddenly skyrocketing, it wasn't so simple to control it as freely as before.

If Kyle's previous total amount of magic was taken as a standard unit called 'one Kyle,'

Then Cedric's magic after fusing with the basilisk bloodline was roughly 'three Kyles,' and it was still gradually increasing over time.

But after Kyle's Obscurus erupted, his magic had exploded directly to 'one hundred Kyles.'

Even though his magic skyrocketing by so much had weakened Kyle's control, it was still within his manageable range.

Therefore, the Obscurus eruption brought only benefits and no harm to Kyle.

Right now, if he wanted to manifest Susanoo, although he still couldn't maintain a battle in the two-hundred-meter-tall Perfect Form—after all, the magic consumed by that thing didn't increase linearly, but exponentially—

If it was merely a height between fifty to eighty meters, maintaining a battle with ultra-high intensity for a decent length of time would likely not be a huge issue.

In addition to this, if he cultivated the appropriate tree species, he could directly clad a giant Buddha in Susanoo armor.

Hermione still had a face full of worry. "But the books say that Obscurials usually..."

The little Otaria faltered. She really wanted to say that they didn't live past the age of ten, but Kyle had long since crossed the ten-year-old threshold.

An Obscurial whose power only erupted at fourteen—uh... the entire wizarding world didn't seem to have a single precedent for that.

"Don't worry," Kyle said with a smile. "Even if something really goes wrong, isn't Dumbledore still around?"

"True." Only then did the little Otaria feel a bit more at ease.

"An Obscurial? What's that?" Ron asked with a thoroughly bewildered face.

Looking at the expressions of this large crowd around them, did it seem like he was the only one who didn't understand?

Casting a look of disappointment at her brother, Ginny began to explain it to him in a low voice.

Under the influence of the top-student Hermione, Ginny had clearly become quite the straight-A student herself.
