"Kill it, Schizo! Fucking kill it!"
Derek wrapped his arms around the monster's neck and pulled backward, trying to choke it. The monster bucked and thrashed, and Derek was clearly just annoying it more than anything, but he held on.
Adam gritted his teeth against the agony. Due to the creature's sudden thrashing, half his torso was now mangled, his ribs jutting through torn flesh—his lungs and heart were even exposed.
But pain was good. Pain meant he was still conscious. He gazed down, and when he saw his body was already knitting itself back together, he decided to move.
He grabbed the creature's head with both hands, trying to keep it still. He only ended up being swayed along with Derek, however. Adam glanced around, and with a small groan, he deliberately pushed his left arm into the creature's beak.
"Kh!" He gritted his teeth from the pain, and as he pulled out his arm, his hand was gone—only the bone was left.
