Chapter 76 - Turned Into Gacha?! - 76

Amber heard voices murmuring at the edge of her consciousness.

They were gentle, yet tinged with profound sorrow—a sound she'd heard before.

It felt like a farewell before a long journey, or perhaps a plea laden with hope and expectation. She strained to listen closely, but just then, her awareness began to sharpen, pulling her back to the waking world.

'Wake up! Get up, now!'

The tender whispers were gone, replaced by the loud, irritated voice of Dark Amber echoing in her mind.

'How much longer are you going to sleep? With all that banging on the door, if someone barges in, don't expect me to hold back!'

Seeing Amber finally open her eyes, Dark Amber inwardly sighed in relief, then scowled. 'Five thousand years of sleep still wasn't enough?'

"Sorry… I think I was dreaming…"

Amber tried to recall the dream, but the images slipped away like water through her fingers.

Oh well, no point getting hung up over a silly dream. With that thought, she called out to the person outside her door, "Just a moment, please…!"

"Glad you're alright."

Hearing the girl's reply from inside, Fushiguro Megumi let out a soft breath of relief.

"Gojo-sensei just called—we're meeting at the main gate of Jujutsu High. I came to let you know. Once you're ready, head straight there."

"Seele understands. Thank you for coming to tell Seele."

Amber replied.

She didn't need much time to get ready—just a quick wash-up. Her hairstyle and clothes came with the character card setup. They weren't exactly "permanent," but with a simple thought, she could refresh the outfit instantly.

So in under five minutes, Amber had stepped out of her room and was heading toward the meeting spot.

"Hey, sleep well yesterday?"

Noticing the girl approaching, Gojo Satoru greeted her cheerfully.

"Seele rested well. And you, Gojo-sensei, Itadori-senpai?"

"Your sensei is full of energy, as always~"

"Well, my whole worldview kinda got turned upside down, but I managed to get some sleep."

Yuji's smile seemed a bit worn, not as bright as usual, but it was clear he was pulling himself together.

"By the way, from now on, Yuji won't be your senpai, little Seele. You two are going to be classmates."

Gojo explained as they walked together.

"Ah, that's right."

Yuji seemed to remember, then glanced at Seele with concern. "But Seele's basically skipping grades, right? Will you be okay with the schoolwork?"

"Um…"

Amber froze a little inside.

Sure, she'd always liked the idea of school life, but jumping straight into academics? She hadn't even finished elementary school…

"Haha, don't worry! Jujutsu sorcerers don't have heavy academic loads. And if you ever need help, I can always tutor you."

Gojo said with a light laugh.

'Other me, about the school stuff… can you help?'

Amber didn't want to reveal how little she knew, so she could only hope her other self could lend a hand.

Dark Amber: 'Fine. Since you're asking so nicely, I suppose I can help you study. It's not like any of it's hard—just a little effort and you'll get it.'

'Thank you, other me.'

Amber breathed a sigh of relief. She really didn't want to be the "pretty-but-clueless" type!

Plus, it'd ruin the image of her dear wife Seele… wait, wasn't Seele from the Sea of Quanta also a bit… academically challenged?

Neither of them knew much about jujutsu school, so as they walked, Gojo took the chance to explain things.

"This is Tokyo Jujutsu High—one of only two jujutsu education institutions in Japan. Officially, it's a private religious school."

A religious school? That's a thing?

'In Japan, not only are religions allowed, even cults operate openly. Heck, organized crime is legal here. Compared to the yakuza, religious schools are practically wholesome.'

Dark Amber chimed in helpfully.

How does she know more about this than I do…?

Gojo, unaware of their internal exchange, continued. "Many jujutsu sorcerers start their careers here after graduation. The school isn't just for education—we also handle missions, offer support, and play a vital role in the jujutsu world."

Then he explained their current destination. "Right now, we're going to meet the school's principal. You two better give it your all, or something really scary might happen~"

"Something scary?" Yuji asked, curious. "Like… not being allowed to enroll?"

"Haha, normally, yes. But you two are special cases. If they barred you from enrolling, you'd basically be left unsupervised—and neither the higher-ups nor the principal want that."

Gojo grinned. "But if your entrance interview goes badly, even if you do enroll, your activities could be restricted."

"Eh…" Yuji's smile tightened. Wasn't that basically like being under house arrest?

Amber felt a knot of tension, too. From what she knew of Yaga's personality in the original story, someone like her probably wouldn't pass…

With his 360-degree vision, Gojo noticed their unease and smiled inwardly. The three of them, each lost in their own thoughts, entered a dimly lit room that felt more like a conference hall for the higher-ups.

The room was dark, illuminated only by the faint glow of a few candles. A burly, middle-aged man wearing sunglasses sat formally on the floor at the front.

Despite his tough appearance, he was carefully stitching together a somewhat ugly-yet-cute doll. And it wasn't just the one in his hands—several finished dolls were arranged around him. The sight of this rugged man surrounded by handmade plush toys made Yuji's eyes widen in surprise.

"You're late, Satoru."

The man's voice was deep and steady. "I won't scold you, but I've told you before—fix your habit of being late."

The remark didn't faze Gojo, but Amber winced inwardly. Wasn't she the reason they were late today, since she overslept?

"If you're not going to scold me, then don't bring it up. You were busy with your dolls anyway—what's another ten minutes?" Gojo shrugged off the blame casually and introduced the man. "This is Principal Yaga Masamichi."

Yaga set the finished doll aside and finally looked up at the three.

"So these are the ones… humans incarnated by Curses."

We? Was Seele also incarnated by a Curse?

Yuji had assumed Seele was just discovered to have jujutsu talent—that's why she was enrolling. But it seemed her situation was similar to his? Finding someone in the same boat brought him a little comfort.

He bowed energetically. "I'm Itadori Yuji! Nice to meet you!"

Amber gave a slight bow as well. "I'm Seele Vollerei. Um… about being late, it wasn't Gojo-sensei's fault. Seele was the one who couldn't get up on time this morning…"

"Why are you here?"

Yaga's brow was deeply furrowed as he observed them, especially Amber. His expression was so stern it looked like his eyebrows might knot together.

Why did it have to be a child like this?
