Chapter 25 - Chapter 24:Shifting

Chapter 24:Shifting

Everything was back to normal now, sort of.Aizakku had suffered internal injuries so he had to stay in the hospital so Yanagi went with him.Cities all around Japan were wrecked and needed to be fixed.

Chief Lenny and the police worked on that. The five of us stood in a room together. It was silent. Our minds had the process everything that had just happened.A lot happened.Everybody needed rest.

"So…what do we cover first?"Kimiko suggested.Maku and I shrugged at the same time.Celestial and Sosu were whispering to each other.

"Um…remember three hours ago? When we saw Hunter besides Emma. She looked-"

"DONT EVEN SAY IT IRAI!"Kimiko was furious at me.Celestial looked a bit worried.

"Calm down.Just take a breath and we'll resolve everything ok?"

"Stay out of this demons. This is a discussion between the Genshi."Maku said in a dark tone.Celestial and Sosu left the room, shutting the door. Now there were three of us. It was even.

"Celestial is right. We need to calm down."

"Irai,a blood moon just happened.Emma died and Hunter smiled while burying her,as if he was trying to hide the evidence?!OUR UNCLE IS IN THE HOSPITAL!I-I can't calm down. There's too much on my damn mind."

Kimiko left the room as well, shutting the door behind her.Leaving me and Maku.

"You won't argue,right?"He questioned.

"No I won't trust me."My chuckle lasted for a second then faded. This was not the time to laugh.

"Hunter and Emma. What happened there? There was so much blood.Maku, when you threw that knife and it hit the lady we thought she was a Navajo, right?"

"Yeah we did but it turned out she was normal. There was no sweet smell that a Navajo in human form produced."

"Right…but even then why was Hunter beside Emma's dead body?"

"He might have found her there. It's unlikely he would kill his sister even when they're from the same clan."

"Then who did kill her?"

"Can't say for sure. We don't have enough evidence yet."

"Yeah…should I prepare some food?"

"We're all hungry after this.Make sushi or something I'm going to check up on Kimiko."

I nodded,he left the room and I was the only one standing. The weather had a sudden shift. The seasons were getting colder again.I spent the next hour preparing fresh bowls of warm miso soup along with sushi as Maku suggested.

We greeted Celestial and Sosu back into the room. The five of us sat down and thanked me for cooking the meal. We dug in immediately. This was the first time in a while that I had something good to eat. My cooking wasn't that good but I tried my best.

"Should we fuse the moonstones after this?"I suggested.

"What about your Uncle Aizakku?"

"In the hospital,we can't visit him in the first few hours of him being there. This stupid rule these doctors have."We all frowned.

"I mean we don't have anything else to do right?"Sosu finally spoke.

"Umm.What will the draco clan say? They're a close ally of ours.Imagine what they would be like if we dismiss Emma's funeral."

"We'll get to her soon I promise."I finished the conversation and turned on the sink's tap to wash my plate. After the whole feast. We stood in a big room with a glass floor. It looked similar to the one in the old Genshi palace.Celestial held out the cursed moonstone while Sosu held out the normal one.

Kimiko placed her hands together and shut her eyes.A slight humming lifted the volume of this room. Both moonstones illuminated. It was a miracle of some sort. It was just so…magical. It was human,it felt right.I took a deep breath and looked in front of me.A portal opened. It was purple.I assumed it mixed the colours of the moonstones.

"Everyone follow me."Celestial hopped into the portal.I couldn't see her anymore.

"HELLO?"I shouted with my hands shaped like a C around my mouth. No reply.Sosu jumped in.I couldn't see him either.

"Guys hurry up I'm feeling tired!I can't keep this thing open any longer."Kimiko looked as if she was about to give up.Maku jumped in then I did and finally Kimiko jumped in,closing the portal behind us.Celestial's question mark on her face gloomed.
