Morning or Noon:
Morven woke up at 7 AM, sat in a corner, and looked out the window at the heavy rain. He listened to the sound of raindrops on the glass—"tap tap tap tap"—and smiled.
He got up, opened his room door quietly, and started walking down the stairs.
He put on his coat and hat but, instead of his cane, picked up an umbrella and left the house.
As he walked through the Mayfair market, he finally found a coffee shop. He took a deep breath, smiled, and walked inside. After entering, he closed his umbrella, ordered a coffee, and sat down.
After the coffee was served, he drank it, paid, and left the shop. He opened his umbrella and started walking back home.
He was out for about an hour. When he returned, it was 8 AM. Morven hung his coat on the coat rack, placed his hat on top, wiped his umbrella with a cloth by the door, and put it back.
He went upstairs, entered his office, closed the door behind him, and picked up one of the documents Marcus had given him last night. He started reading it while leaning against his desk, facing the window.
11:30 AM:
Marcus woke up, sat on his bed for a moment, then got up. But as soon as he opened his door, he saw Morven standing there.
Morven gave Marcus a pitying look, touched his forehead, took a deep breath, shook his head, and said,
"Well, well… look who finally decided to wake up!?"
Marcus was surprised and asked,
"What time is it!?"
Morven pointed to the wall clock in Marcus's room and said,
"Are you blind!?"
Marcus turned to look at the clock, surprised. Then he glanced out his window and realized it didn't seem like daytime because of the cloudy sky and ongoing rain. He turned to Morven and said,
"Not blind, but… am I to blame for the rain!? You said yesterday it might rain!"
Morven stared at the clock in Marcus's room and said,
"You're talking back to me!? No pay this month—got it!?"
Marcus suddenly dropped to his knees and grabbed Morven's leg.
"No, please, I beg you…!"
Morven frowned and said,
"Are you an idiot or what? I pay for your lunch and dinner, and you sleep in my house… what good is pay to you anyway!?"
Marcus looked up at Morven's face, then at the floor. He let go of Morven's leg, straightened his clothes, and said,
"You're right… fine, then go get lunch!"
Morven gave a small smirk and…
2 Minutes Later:
Marcus begged desperately,
"No, please, I messed up… at least give me the umbrella!"
Morven smiled gently, closed his eyes, and said,
"You'll walk all the way, get us a good meal, and come back. And stop asking for an umbrella—you were busy buying fantasy books or sea adventure stories when you should've bought one!"
Morven shut the door hard, and Marcus started knocking.
"No, please… sir, I said something, why are you getting so mad!?"
Morven leaned against the door and said,
"Go buy our lunch and come back—pay with your own money, it's not my problem!"
Marcus knocked again and shouted,
"Please open the door!"
Morven stepped away from the door and headed toward the stairs. Marcus knocked for a few minutes and realized Morven wasn't going to open it. So, he ran the whole way to buy lunch.
Who Is It!?
Morven opened his office door. As soon as he stepped inside, he closed it behind him without turning back. He took a deep breath, stared at his chair, and said quietly,
"Okay… now tell me, what's going on!?"
