Alex expected several things to happen when Uzi shook his hand. Whether Cyn would just vanish and he'd have a voice in his head now, or maybe he would grow a tail to 'contain' her like Uzi herself had. Maybe even having Cyn vanish completely and he just gains the Solver as a pure beneficial ability.
None of that happened.
Uzi's cold hand grabbed Alex's and the yellow eyes on her tail just blipped out, before turning back to purple.
...
"Huh." He let go of her hand, watching Uzi move her tail around for a second. "So, I assume she's gone then?"
"Uh, yeah." Uzi seems just as confused, before shaking her head and leaning onto the counter with a grin. "Now, travel! How does it work?"
"You don't know?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. "The knowledge didn't just, appear in your head or anything?"
"No?" Now everyone's confused. Great. "Should it have-"
Uzi cuts off, dropping down for a second as she grabs her head, a small grunt leaving her as she 'closes' her eyes.
"Uzi?" N calls out, zooming to her side instantly. "What happened?"
Before Alex gets a chance to say anything, one of N's hands were pointing at him, the tip of a very sharp sword at his throat. "What did you do?" He demands, glaring at him.
'Right, forgot N is still a Murder Drone, no matter how easygoing and nice he is...'
"Ugh, N." Uzi chimes in, saving the day, and Alex's life, as she pushes down his arm. "I'm fine, influx of information out of nowhere just hurt a bit. I'm alright-"
She gets wrapped up in a hug, blush across her face as she quickly pushes him away.
'Classic Tsundere'
With a small cough, Alex gets their attention again. "So, is it to your liking?" He asks, curious as to what ability she actually gained, considering he didn't decide what she had.
"It's passable." She admits, crossing her arms and looking away to hide her excitement. "It's more limited than I wanted." She states, raising a digital eyebrow at him.
"Hey, I'd say be happy with whatever Cyn was worth." He points out right back. "She could have easily not been worth any form of dimensional travel at all ya know."
"Smug Voice. I am a. Priceless Individual." A familiar robotic voice rang out, everyone's gaze snapping to behind Alex.
Walking forward, a small Worker Drone in a maid outfit shuffled forward, her black bow moving with each step as she stops a few feet away.
"Damn it!" Uzi brought her hand up, her eye shifting to the Solver Symbol as she glared at what was clearly Cyn's new vessel. "Really didn't want to do this again." She mutters.
N also looked like he was traumatized at the sight of her, and as Alex turned to look at Cyn, he had to admit that the Golden Retrievers in her eyes likely wasn't helping the situation.
'System, I know that companions can't hurt me, but they do still have to listen to me, right?'
The silence was not helpful in the slightest.
"Ok, everyone calm down." Alex attempts. "This is what was agreed to, remember? I have Cyn, you have limited Multiversal travel, plus the oil on the walls." He reminds her, a question mark appearing for a second on her visor before it changes to an exclamation mark.
"R-right." Uzi agrees, her blush returning as she had clearly forgotten about the oil that could get Drones drunk. "So, wait, she just... is here now? That's it?" Uzi demands, clearly still uncomfortable about the situation, which is fair.
"Yep, as agreed upon." Alex waves his hand, his Mana grabbing oil off of the wall and bringing it to the counter. "Take however much you want, a deals a deal."
"Curious Expression. That is not The Solver." Cyn states, standing right next to Alex, staring at him. "How are you doing that? Head tilt." She asks, her head tilting to the left as she stares up at him.
"Magic." He responds, patting her head as he focuses on the now slightly bewildered and cautious Uzi and very freaked out N. "Now, I assume you want to go explore more than you want to be here, so...?"
"Right." Uzi shakes her head, snatching up as much Oil as she can into her arms, forcing some over to N and grabbing even more with her Solver. "Not my problem anymore, don't let her back into my universe!" She declares, booking it out the door.
"Nice to talk to you too." He mutters with a half-wave as they escape. "Anyway, Cyn-"
"WHAT IS HAPPENING!" Momo shouts from the corner, where her and Okarun had been watching everything.
'Right, they're still here.'
"DID YOU FORGET ABOUT US AGAIN?" She demands, slamming her hand onto the counter with a growl. "I'm gettin' tired of being ignored you know!"
"Momo, you're my most frequent visitor at this point." Alex deadpans, not actually knowing if that's true or not, but figuring it's close enough to the truth. "You know this place can be chaotic, sorry I can't give you 100% of my attention every second you're in the store."
Unfortunately, the deadpan wasn't the best way to get Momo to calm down, as she starts muttering under her breath, glaring daggers at him.
"Ok." Okarun saves the day, gently grabbing her by the shoulders and dragging her out. "Let's just go and calm down for a bit Miss Ayase. Please?" He asks as he walks to the door with her.
...
'Am I forgetting something?'
...Right!
"Oi! Okarun!" Alex calls out before they leave, ignoring the girl he's holding back from pouncing right now. "Don't forget to check for something to help you with your power issue. I'm sure something around here could help you out."
His eyes light up at the reminder. "Right! I completely forgot!" He exclaimed, looking around the shop from his position, before hesitantly glancing down at Momo. "Uh, I... I don't, uh-"
"You can come back tomorrow you know." Alex points out, Okarun's shoulders dropping with a sigh. "Get some rest, I'll see you later."
"R-right. Thank you!" He smiles gratefully, pulling Momo out of the shop.
Leaving Alex in Silence.
...
'Huh, I'm starting to get used to-'
"Curious Poke." Cyn pokes him in the side casually. "Are you a. Magic Man?"
Right. Cyn.
'What do I actually... do withher?''
Well, at least she'll be fun conversation?
