The car stopped at the front gate of the Suzuki house.
"Heiji, Kazuha, let's go," said Sonoko.
Sonoko held Kazuha's hand. She led Heiji into the grand villa.
The outside looked fancy and large. The inside was simple and elegant. There was no gold-plated decoration, but it looked very noble.
Heiji looked at the furniture and lamps. He felt amazed. This was a quiet kind of luxury. One set of furniture was worth as much as a normal house.
"Heiji, you are finally here," said Suzuki Jirokichi.
As soon as Heiji entered the living room, Jirokichi ran to meet him. He grabbed Heiji's hand and shook it with a lot of energy.
"Uncle, Heiji is not feeling well. Do not shake his hand so hard," said Sonoko. She gave Jirokichi a look.
"Not feeling well?" asked Jirokichi.
He looked at Heiji.
Heiji gave a polite smile. "Mr. Suzuki, it is a pleasure to meet you. It is just a small cold. It is not a big deal."
Jirokichi frowned as he looked at Heiji. "You have sweat on your forehead. This is not a small cold. Go and rest right now," he said.
"Uncle, why are you being so warm?" asked Sonoko. Her eyes showed a bit of doubt.
"I am not. I am just caring about Heiji," said Jirokichi. He gave a fake smile to hide his thoughts.
Heiji smiled quietly. He knew this man was only afraid that Heiji could not help him.
"Uncle, let me tell you. Heiji is only here to help you guard the Sunflowers. He will not travel around with you," said Sonoko. She held Heiji's arm like she usually did.
Then she suddenly let go. Her face turned red.
"What do you mean he won't travel?" asked someone.
At that moment, Suzuki Tomoko walked over.
"You look as noble and beautiful as always, Mrs. Suzuki," said Heiji with a smile.
"Mrs. Suzuki," said Kazuha. She quickly bowed in a polite way.
"Mom, Heiji is sick. I do not want him traveling around with Uncle," said Sonoko. She held Tomoko's arm and acted like a spoiled child.
"He is a young man. He should move around more. Look at me. I have traveled for decades, and my body is still very strong," said Jirokichi.
"Brother Jirokichi, the Sunflowers in the Medieval Art Museum are fake anyway. Let Heiji look after the real ones in the Tokyo Museum. Besides, Kaito Kid and the Night Baron might not even show up," said Tomoko. She tried to help.
Heiji suddenly let out a loud cough. Cough cough!
"Heiji!" shouted Kazuha. She ran over and patted his back.
Sonoko started to move her hand, but then she put it back down. Her eyes were full of worry.
Jirokichi looked at Heiji. Then he nodded. "Fine. Heiji will be in charge of guarding the Sunflowers in the Tokyo Museum," he said.
After saying that, the old man turned and walked away.
"Heiji, do not mind him. Brother Jirokichi is just like that. He is not being mean to you," said Tomoko. She looked at Heiji gracefully.
Heiji nodded politely. He did not say anything. He looked a bit angry.
"Sonoko, take Heiji to rest for a while. I will have the butler prepare lunch," said Tomoko.
She gave a small smile. She did not mind Heiji's silence. In her mind, it was normal for a young man to have a bit of a temper.
Sonoko led Heiji to her fancy bedroom.
"Heiji, take a nap," she said.
She was not shy at all. She let him lie down on her bed.
Heiji had to keep acting sick. He decided to just sleep. The bed had a light, sweet smell. He knew it was Sonoko's scent.
Heiji fell asleep. Kazuha and Sonoko looked at each other. They walked out of the room quietly.
"Kazuha, let's go to the kitchen. We can make porridge for Heiji," said Sonoko. She looked very excited.
"Okay," said Kazuha with a sweet smile.
Heiji slept for a long time. When he opened his eyes, the two girls were not in the room.
This was a good time to think about his plan. He did not need to go to the Medieval Art Museum himself, but he could not ignore it either. The real art was in the Tokyo Museum. Since he was guarding the real one, he could not let it be stolen.
Heiji closed his eyes again. He had a plan in his mind.
The door opened. Sonoko came to the bed very quietly. She looked at Heiji's calm face while he slept. She leaned down and gave him a soft kiss on his lips. Her face turned very red.
"Is the food ready?" asked Heiji.
"Ah! Heiji, you are awake?" shouted Sonoko. Heiji's voice had startled her.
"Yes. I woke up when a little cat kissed me," said Heiji with a gentle smile.
"No, Heiji is the little cat," said Sonoko. She lay in his arms and felt very happy.
"Heiji, drink some porridge. Kazuha and I made this seafood porridge together," said Sonoko.
At the dining table, she placed a pot of porridge in front of Heiji.
"Heiji, try it. Sonoko and I worked very hard," said Kazuha. She looked at him expectantly.
Inside the pot, the hot steam was rising. The porridge was still boiling. Bubble bubble. There was shrimp meat, crab meat, and even abalone inside.
"Are you making a seafood mix?" asked Heiji.
"Just eat some. We worked very hard," said Kazuha.
"Exactly. Do not waste our hard work. You have a cold, so you need to eat well," said Sonoko.
"Heiji, these two girls spent a lot of time peeling shrimp and killing crabs. They were very focused. Try some," said Tomoko. She gave Sonoko a meaningful look.
Heiji smiled at Tomoko. He started to eat the seafood porridge.
Later, Kazuha and Sonoko sat on the bed. They were wearing simple shirts and shorts. They looked very fresh. They stared closely at the TV screen.
"Now we will continue with the report on the Suzuki group's Sunflower exhibition. Tonight, the Suzuki group held a press conference for the event. Let's go to the live report," said the news reporter.
"This time, I will not let Kaito Kid or the Night Baron ruin my show. I have set a perfect trap. If they dare to come, they will go to jail. They will stay there for the rest of their lives," said Jirokichi.
The TV screen stayed on Suzuki Jirokichi. Kazuha and Sonoko pouted. They did not look happy.
"Uncle loves being on TV too much," said Sonoko. She patted the bed sheets.
"Heiji must be very bored," said Kazuha.
In truth, Heiji was very bored. He was sitting there facing many microphones, but it was not interesting at all.
"Mr. Suzuki, I heard that you invited two great experts to stop the Night Baron and Kaito Kid. May I ask Heiji Hattori a question?" asked a reporter.
Jirokichi was speaking with a lot of energy. The reporter's words stopped him suddenly. The whole room became quiet.
All the other reporters looked at that man. They shook their heads. They thought that man would never get news from the Suzuki group again. He did not understand the situation.
They all saw Heiji Hattori, too. Heiji was more interesting to the media. However, they knew who the boss was. Today, Heiji was not the main star.
"You may. I also want to hear Heiji's thoughts," said Jirokichi. He was a bit annoyed that he was stopped, but he did not get angry.
Heiji looked at the reporter. He gave a simple smile. "Do you have a question for me?" he asked.
"It is finally Heiji's turn!" shouted Sonoko.
"We waited so long!" shouted Kazuha.
The camera finally turned to Heiji. Kazuha and Sonoko shouted with excitement. They did not look away.
