[3rd POV]
When the commotion caused by the Oracle attracted the attention of nearby guards and maids, at the same time, a man with a height over six feet, a lean build with compact muscles, and golden hair was sprinting toward the room of the Matriarch.
On his way, the commotion reached his exceptionally sharp and sensitive ears, and he rushed there.
After arriving and looking at the scene, he immediately asked,
"What happened, Sasha? Why aren't you with your sister, and why is the Oracle in such a state?
He didn't try to woo you like he does to others, did he?"
The golden-haired man said, already knowing the lecherous Oracle.
When the Oracle heard the voice, his whimpers and wailing immediately died down, and he prostrated himself in front of the Patriarch.
"Save me, Patriarch! I am going blind, and I am dying. Please save me... save me."
Sasha smiled and sarcastically said,
"He isn't that bold yet, but I have something alarming to tell you, Patriarch."
The Patriarch nodded and ordered,
"Guards, take him away to the medical wing of the mansion and report back to me what caused a Celestial-level Oracle to be in such a state."
The guards nodded, and the Patriarch and Sasha moved to a nearby empty room to talk about the bizarre situation.
---
The Patriarch entered the room, sat on the sofa, and gestured for Sasha to sit as well.
Sasha nodded slightly. After taking her seat, she immediately spoke,
"Don't worry about sister, brother-in-law. She is fine.
She is feeling more pain than the previous two births, but the doctor is with her, and her condition is stable.
The doctor said she may give birth in about four to six hours, but the pain of sister is what led to the current state of the Oracle."
The golden-haired man nodded, signaling her to continue.
Then she explained how she had a bad premonition and called the Oracle to find out about it, which led to the conclusion reached by the Oracle and his pathetic state.
"Hmm..."
The Patriarch nodded and started rubbing his finger over his chin while sitting in a cross-legged manner.
After thinking for about a minute, he raised his head — his hazel-colored eyes meeting the brown-colored eyes of Sasha — and said with calmness in his voice,
"The silver lining here is that Naomi is expected to have a full recovery.
The Oracle may have been lecherous, but his predictions, due to the synergy of talent and class, were some of the best in Mythos and the lower floors of the Tower of Mythus.
That is all the more reason I can't wrap my head around this vision of his and his consistent blabbering.
What's your take on this, Sasha?"
Sasha spoke with a contemplative voice,
"Brother-in-law, while I am relieved that sister is going to be fine, the way the Oracle reacted — and he said he didn't see anyone or anything, he just felt it — this concerns me more.
If just feeling the presence of a being can cause such afflictions on a Celestial-level person, how powerful is this being connected to the unborn child... and is it friend or foe?"
"My thinking is pretty much the same.
Is this an enemy trying to get into our family?
But we don't know when or how we made someone so powerful our enemy.
Father and even our Founder, or those we know in the Syndicate in the Tower, don't have such a presence.
I think I need to contact Father and our Founder regarding this matter.
I just hope nothing happens to Naomi in this situation."
The hazel-eyed youth answered Sasha's confusion.
---
Knock... knock...
While talking, a knock on the door interrupted their conversation, followed by the subservient voice of a guard.
"Pardon me, Patriarch, but I have news related to the Oracle's condition."
"Enter," answered the Patriarch.
The guard opened the door, got on one knee, bowed his head, and said with reverence,
"Patriarch, Madam."
"Tell us, what's the situation of the Oracle?" the Patriarch ordered.
"Answering to the Patriarch, the Oracle's situation has made the doctors and healers perplexed.
The Oracle is permanently blind, and his power level has fallen down to C Rank, while all his skills, talent, and class abilities are rendered useless" the guard quickly answered in one breath, knowing the bizarre condition.
> "What!" ×2
The Patriarch and Sasha exclaimed simultaneously and stood up from their seats.
Their eyes widened in horror at the news they received, and they immediately ran toward the medical wing because they were having a hard time processing what they'd heard.
They hurriedly reached the medical wing of the mansion, their senses picking up the room where the Oracle was being treated, and burst into the room.
---
As they entered, the room went silent instantly.
Only the whimpering and wails of the Oracle were audible — the repetition of "I am blind!" and "Please save me!"
The Patriarch reached the right side of the Oracle while Sasha stood on the left. The doctors and healers had already emptied the bedside space.
"Malcom, tell me everything you felt, heard, or saw — anything. Don't leave a single thing out,"
The Patriarch said in a stern tone.
The Oracle heard the stern tone and started pleading,
"Patriarch, I am blind! I can't see anything! Please help me! I am powerless now! You have to help me!"
He tried to get up, but he was bound to the bed due to excessive frantic rants and thrashing limbs.
"Shut up, Malcom! Now listen — I will help you, but first, you have to help me by telling me every little detail about your experience,"
The Patriarch said in a slightly less stern voice.
The Oracle took a deep breath, followed by sniffling, and said,
"After confirming the complete recovery of the Matriarch in the future, I shifted my focus to the unborn child as ordered by Madam Sasha.
But just as I shifted my attention, all I could feel was eternal darkness, and I didn't see anything.
All this was felt deep in my soul, and then I heard a voice telling me I will die."
Sniffle... sniffle...
The Patriarch nodded and said with an appreciative tone,
"Good, good, Malcom. But tell me exactly what that being you perceived said."
"I will try to remember, Patriarch, but it's very painful. Even remembering that feeling gives me more pain."
The Oracle closed his eyes after saying that. With his hands and lips trembling, he tried to remember the scene where his life became a living hell.
With a trembling and fearful voice, the Oracle began,
"The being said, 'Wretched mortal, you dare try to gaze into me? You sure want to die!'
Oh, he is going to kill me! Save me, Patriarch! Save me!"
