Chapter 17 - 17 | Understanding the Currency

[Max's POV]

After gaining an amazing sword, I realized the true scope of my Talent and Innate Ability. It had taken me around five minutes to make a Primordial Sword out of a Common one, and its strength was off the charts even at Tier 0. I didn't even want to imagine its power at Tier 21.

After securing my weapon, I noticed I didn't have any body armor, so I upgraded the rest of my equipment to Ancient level. I didn't want to upgrade everything to Primordial because, after creating my sword, I realized how little I truly knew about the system. I wanted to observe how the sword performed first.

I stored extra fused equipment and swords in my system inventory. I looked at the inventory, which was already half filled in a matter of minutes. Then an idea struck me—why not use my most overpowered ability?

I focused, cleared my mind, and spoke with absolute confidence in my power.

'LimitBreak: Expand my inventory to infinite.'

At first, nothing happened. Then, in the next second, I felt a connection forming to a space that seemed vast—limitless. I could feel my control over this space. Inside, I saw forty-six awe-inspiring katanas and all my other equipment.

I was ecstatic, to say the least. I'd never have to worry about inventory problems again.

"Can I know the penalty for this use?" I asked.

The system panel flickered in front of me:

[– 5 Myth Points]

[Your use of Class didn't provide any unfair advantage to you in any fight.]

[Tower Administrator recognizes that it would also be unfair to you by imposing a penalty for using your Class effect. Therefore, a penalty will only apply if you use your Class effect to gain an unfair advantage in a fair fight.]

I nodded and said in a relaxed voice, "That's much better. I won't have to worry about using Class effects all the time. Now that I've experienced my Class's power, there's one more thing I want to try before increasing my grade and learning what it truly means."

I focused my ability on my Bloodline, attempting to duplicate it—to see what changes would occur if I fused with it. As I concentrated, the screen flickered violently, almost like it was afraid. Then a trembling message appeared:

[Don't do it not....]

---

[The Being's POV]

He sat in his usual position—beneath a throne that defied existential law. The chair was forged from the essence of unborn Universes and Omni-verses. It possessed the power to birth countless realities, yet no will of its own.

The Being's presence radiated euphoric pressure, and his interest was palpable. The moment Max used his Innate Ability to duplicate his Bloodline, devastation swept through all of existence.

The first victim was the Tower itself—the Supreme Artifact that had stood proud and unscathed for ten thousand years. It was obliterated in a microsecond.

Next came something beyond comprehension: every passing moment saw multiple Omni-verses destroyed, their inhabitants erased without ever realizing it, no matter their power.

Everything unfolded before The Being's eyes, yet he simply observed with amused detachment. From outside existence, it looked as if reality itself was dissolving.

Within one second, all of existence was gone—erased—and the man responsible floated unconscious at the epicenter of that devastation.

The Being gazed at the unconscious Max and laughed freely—for the first time—because now he didn't have to restrain himself to protect existence. For once, he was free.

He stopped laughing and spoke, "Oh, my little me, you are a bit reckless sometimes, aren't you? You'll learn the responsibilities that come with such overwhelming power eventually. But take your time—I'm here."

He then gave a single command: "Reversal."

Instantly, existence returned—reborn as though nothing had happened. None were aware they had been annihilated and restored. And perhaps, that ignorance was mercy itself—for it's better not to know that your life rests entirely in the restraint of another.

[Max's POV]

As I focused on my ability, the screen flickered again—erratic, frightened. The message blinked out:

[Don't do it, it's not safe to do that.]

I was confused—both by the warning and by the fact that I had already activated my ability but received no result.

[OH... thank The Creator.]

[Are you an idiot despite having Infinite Mind, goddammit!?]

The limbo shuddered slightly, and I instantly understood—the system, or whoever spoke through it, wasn't in the mood for jokes. So, I did the smartest thing possible. I stayed silent.

Moments later, the panel flickered again, but this time with cold precision:

[You are lucky that you can't duplicate your Bloodline or Physique. Otherwise, you would have put the entire existence in jeopardy.]

"Ahh... sorry, I didn't know," I said shamelessly, then cleared my throat and acted like nothing had happened.

"So, how many Myth Points do I need to increase my grade?" I asked. I had power now, but not enough knowledge—and power without information often leads to disaster, no matter how good your intentions.

The system responded:

[Grade 0 – Start]

[Grade 1 – 10 points]

[Grade 2 – 50 points]

[Grade 3 – 100 points]

[Grade 4 – 500 points]

[Grade 5 – 1000 points]

[Grade 6 – 1500 points]

[Grade 7 – 15000 points]

[Tower Administrator provides a Special Grade to Player Max at 30000 Myth Points.]

My eyes widened slightly. From what I'd heard, Myth Points were so hard to earn that even major families fought for them—yet I had enough for a Special Grade without even climbing the Tower.

"What are the benefits of Special Grade?" I asked.

[All knowledge of the Tower and its Natives, direct connection to the Tower Administrator, and no charge for small questions.]

That was huge. Natives of the Tower came from countless races, and their knowledge alone could be priceless. A direct connection to the Administrator could be even more valuable.

"I'll buy it," I said immediately.

Then I checked my balance:

[Myth Points – 20245]

[Myth Coins – 4970]

And the change in my Grade tab:

[*Special Grade]

After confirming it, I asked my next question, "Please tell me all uses of Myth Points and Myth Coins."

[Myth Points:]

[Earned by completing missions from the Tower, from Observers, by achieving incredible feats, or by becoming famous—or infamous]

[Can be used to enhance your soul quality (only Myth Points can do this)]

[Can be used to buy Titles, or grant powerful Traits during sublimation. The type of Trait depends on how many points you spend Traits can awaken by chance during sublimation, but Myth Points guarantee activation—the higher the points, the higher the quality]

[Players can create or grant Titles using Points, though both require enormous amounts—creating Titles demands the most. The more powerful the Title, the higher the cost]

[Points can be used to ask questions to Administrators; cost depends on the complexity of the answer and your Grade.

Myth Points can grant any type of Talent, but even E-Rank Talents require thousands (~2000 Points).

The receiver must be below EX Rank, since EX-Rank beings can't gain new Talents. The number of Talents you can add depends on soul quality]

[Myth Points are mainly used to enhance soul quality, allowing more Titles and better comprehension of Authority

The higher your rank, the greater the cost]

[Soul quality can only be increased after reaching Rank S]

[Your name will be announced in the Tower upon earning 1000 Myth Points]

[Myth Coins:]

[Earned by slaying monsters or completing quests and missions]

[Serve as the Tower's currency and can be converted into the currency of the world where the Tower exists]

[Used to buy Skills, Artifacts, Weapons, or other items in the Mythus Shop]

[Can be used to access Tower facilities.

Energy Crystals or Attribute Crystals can be exchanged for Myth Coins]

I read all that information in under two minutes, then checked everything again. My weapon and equipment were ready for any fight. The Tower had a habit of sending players to random locations upon entry, so I needed to be prepared in case I landed in a hostile zone.

"So... does the whole Tower know about me now?" I asked.

[Yes and no. The Tower will announce your deed, but you can choose whether to use your real name or a nickname in the announcement]

[Would you like to use your real name or a nickname?]

"I want you to announce 'Max The LimitBreaker' as my name in the Tower announcement."

"Let's go kill some monsters, Lemina" I said, readying myself to step into the swirling bluish portal that would take me out of this limbo.

The sword hummed in my hand—equally eager for its first fight.
