Chapter 53 - Interruption

—Jeez, Toru-chan, that's really daring!— exclaimed Mina to her invisible classmate who had just picked up a rather revealing swimsuit.

—Hehe, I think it would look good on Uraraka-San. It highlights her strong attributes— commented Toru with a mischievous laugh.

—Uh, now that you mention it, where did Uraraka go?— Mina questioned thoughtfully.

—Maybe with Midoriya-San. I saw her walking with him a while ago— said Jiro while looking suspiciously at the daring ladies' garments everywhere.

—Oh-ho? So that's how things are...— Toru murmured with a knowing smile that no one noticed.

—Well, let's let them have their alone time. Who knows, maybe something interesting will come out of it— Mina chirped, sharing the same thoughts as Toru. —Anyway, it's a shame neither Todoroki-San nor Mei-chan came. I would have liked to see more of their reactions.

That immediately caught the attention of the other two. Especially Toru, who thought she was the only one who noticed the glances Todoroki had thrown at the kunoichi.

—But you said Tetsumaru-Kun would confirm they were coming last night. Maybe they're running late?

—Well, he said they would be here, so you might be right— Mina conceded to Toru's question.

—Only Tetsumaru— Jiro added instinctively in a tone similar to the black-haired boy's.

—PFFFT! Hahahaha, What the hell, Jiro!? Since when did you become Tetsumaru?— Mina mocked as she bent forward, holding her stomach.

Jiro's eyes widened, and she quickly searched for an excuse, but the other two didn't pay attention to her.

At some point, Kaminari and Shōji joined them, and the group wandered through the mall, shortly meeting up with Midoriya and Uraraka.

A couple of hours later, they all sat on the edge of a fountain while enjoying ice cream and chatting among themselves, comparing the things each one bought in preparation for the camp trip.

—Huh? Has anyone seen Mineta?— Toru asked curiously, noticing the absence of the small pervert.

Kaminari flinched but tried to hide it. Unfortunately, Jiro noticed and narrowed her eyes, pointing her ice cream at the class's perverted henchman.

—Bakaminari, where is Mineta?

—Huh!? I-I don't know anything!— he shook his head, shrinking under the sharp gazes of the other girls.

—Hm, didn't he say he was going to investigate something about night vision binoculars... — Midoriya started to mutter but didn't dare to finish his words when the girls turned towards him with an intense aura.

—Uh, uh ah I, I-I didn't say anything— he stammered in a panic.

—Miroriya, you bastard traitor!— exclaimed Kaminari with an accusing finger.

—Guys...— said Shōji softly, but everyone ignored him.

—I knew it, you two are always plotting something!— Mina retorted, getting up from her seat while rolling up her sleeves, walking threateningly towards Kaminari.

—No, no, no, I had nothing to do with it!— the blonde defended himself, cursing his own tongue.

—Hey, stop!— shouted Shōji, catching everyone's attention. —Look there!— He pointed to a large screen above an establishment where the transmission was interrupted to show a peculiar scene.

Houses and cars engulfed in furious blue flames. Vehicles overturned with their wheels in the air, like flipped turtles. A blanket of darkness shooting like a tsunami over the source of the fire, trying to quell it.

—That's... Isn't that Iron Sand!?— exclaimed Midoriya. As a Quirk enthusiast, he was one of the people who had best studied his classmate's Satetsu.

Suddenly, a massive vortex of water exploded from somewhere, flooding half a city block and leaping over the burning buildings.

A familiar figure ran across the waves, shooting jets of water from her hands at something they couldn't see.

A massive explosion pushed away a large amount of water and threw the reddish-brown-haired figure backward.

A man with yellow hair and reddened skin lay in the middle of the explosion, his raised arm swollen with power.

—M-Mei-San?— Toru mumbled, bewildered.

-Some time before-

—Tsk, what is this supposed to be? A rite of passage or some shit like that?— complained a gaunt, black-haired youth. His bruised flesh was a horrible sight to anyone who gave him a second glance.

—Hmph, it's a job. The handyman said he'd pay well, so don't complain— a short, muscular, blonde-haired man wearing a mask retorted dryly.

The duo walked through the streets of Musutafu, entering a pleasant middle-class neighborhood. Their target was located a couple of blocks further in, a girl who had become moderately famous recently.

Terumi Mei.

—Now that I think about it... Wasn't that brat a Water user? Why the hell did they pair you with me? You're just going to get in my way— the blonde man suddenly said.

The gaunt youth squinted at him, the temperature suddenly rising around him.

—You think a walking faucet is going to give me trouble? From the information they gave me, she can barely put out a stove. Don't be mistaken, punk, I'm the one who's going to capture the little tart. You're here to take care of the brother— he replied coldly.

—Hehe, don't come running to me when the girl kicks your ugly face— the blonde mocked.

After that exchange, both continued their way in silence.

The truth of the matter was that neither dared to underestimate the targets. The fog guy, Kurogiri, had informed them in detail of everything they knew about these siblings.

Their Quirks were the least of their problems. Their physical condition exceeded human levels, their personal combat skills were above average, and the brother's control over his Quirk was noteworthy.

And above all, there was what they didn't know. There was information they weren't aware of, and the siblings might still be holding many cards.

It wasn't going to be an easy task. That's why neither was arrogant enough to try to complete it alone.

As Dabi and Muscular casually approached, like two common passersby, their targets were just starting their day.

—Tetsumaru, you idiot, you overslept!— Mei yelled at her other half through their link while brushing her messy hair.

—Hmph, I called you several times, but you kept asking for five more minutes— the black-haired boy scoffed as he drank a cup of coffee. He was already properly ready, so he calmly listened to his rushing other half.

—If I ask for five more minutes, you should drag me out of bed or something!— she yelled with a frown.

—How can you ask me to do that? When you sleep, you look so cute that the mere thought of waking you up hurts me— he replied softly.

—Hehe, really?— she chuckled, with a silly expression. Her anger vanished in a blink, which almost made Tetsumaru choke on his coffee. These sudden changes in attitude are baffling, to say the least.

Ding Dong - the doorbell rang, catching the black-haired boy's attention.

—Huh? Are we expecting guests?— Mei questioned, still changing her clothes upstairs.

—Hmm, I don't think so— Tetsumaru said as he approached the door. Upon opening it, he casually drank from his cup.

His black eyes with yellow pupils looked indifferently at the muscular man with a creepy smile, whose upper half of his face was hidden by a mask, and at the damn ugly guy, looking like he came out of a horror or zombie movie.

—Hey, brat. Is this the house of Terumi Mei and Terumi Tetsumaru?— the muscular blonde asked.

—I'm Tetsumaru. What do you need?— the shinobi nodded.

—Perfect. Please, die— the zombie guy said as blue flames swirled in his palm. With a swift movement, he extended his hand toward Tetsumaru and unleashed an extremely hot wave of fire.

The flames didn't even cross the doorway when an explosion of darkness destroyed the frame and pushed the fire and the visitors into the street.

—Mei, get dressed in your Mizukage outfit— Tetsumaru said.

—Huh!? No kidding, I was already putting on a skirt!— the kunoichi complained.
