Gavin's POV
than we had originally discussed.
He stopped talking, his eyes locking onto mine with that intense stare he used when he wanted to gauge my reaction. "So what's your answer? Are you committed to this or not?"
I didn't hesitate for even a second.
"Absolutely, Dad!" The words tumbled out before I could control my enthusiasm, and Dad's face broke into that huge grin that always made me feel like his pride and joy. He clapped me hard on the shoulder.
"That's my boy!" His voice carried that tone of approval that could make my day, and I felt my chest swell with warmth.
But Mom wasn't ready to wrap things up yet. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her eyes darting between Julia and me like she was wrestling with something she needed to say but wasn't sure how to phrase it. She cleared her throat twice before finally speaking up.
