Isabella's POV
Your feet took you downstairs, your body trembling in fear. That white lily was someone's favourite.
Both Nikolai and Lazar looked at me when I took the last stair, their eyes cold and dark.
"Go to your room and hide!" Nikolai growled.
And before I could register his words, the world exploded.
A deafening boom rocked the foundation of the mansion. The massive floor-to-ceiling windows of the foyer didn't just break; they vaporized. A shockwave of heat and glass shards tore through the air. But something shielded me. I was thrown backward on the balcony with Nikolai covering me. He held my head, saving it from hitting the floor as the chandelier above the staircase groaned and plummeted, shattering like a falling star into the marble below.
"RPG!" Lazar's voice roared through the smoke. "Nikolai, save her!"
