Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 - Wanting to Test Yourself Against Me

Rias wasn't only the next head of the Gremory House—she was also a pureblood devil who had inherited the Power of Destruction trait.

This trait originally belonged to the Bael clan, the highest-ranked family among the Seventy-Two Pillars. Yet the current Bael heir did not inherit it. Instead, the siblings born to a Bael mother and raised in the Gremory House inherited the trait—and both went on to achieve overwhelming fame.

The elder brother, Sirzechs Gremory, became renowned centuries ago. Representing the reformists, he defeated the former Maou's bloodline from the old faction and was chosen as the new Maou Lucifer. Renamed Sirzechs Lucifer, he was now one of the strongest devils in existence.

The younger sister, Rias, inherited the Gremory House and was set to become its next ruler. Among devils, she was known as the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess.

Someone who inherited the Bael clan's destructive demonic power, with a brother capable of becoming Maou—Rias's talent was beyond question. In pure strength, she easily surpassed Sona, and even Leo at the time he first ascended to High-Class Devil had been nowhere near her level.

Even now, Leo could feel the vast, dangerous demonic power inside Rias just by standing close to her. Even as an Ultimate-Class Devil, he instinctively felt he shouldn't touch that power carelessly. That alone showed how overwhelming the Power of Destruction was.

With such an innate ability, Rias didn't need elaborate magic techniques. Simply releasing her demonic power was enough to erase anything. Ordinary objects disintegrated the instant they came into contact with it. There was no resisting it.

Gifted with destructive power, blessed as the princess of the Gremory House, and possessing beauty, figure, and charisma—Rias radiated confidence at every moment. When she faced Leo, she practically sparkled. No wonder she had reigned for years as Kuoh Academy's most popular student, an idol without equal.

"I'll introduce my servants as well."

Rias waved behind her.

"Akeno, Yuuto, Koneko—come here."

At her call, the last three people in the office stepped forward together.

"I am the Gremory Queen—Himejima Akeno."

The first to speak was the elegant, traditional beauty with a single ponytail—every bit as stunning as Rias herself. At Kuoh Academy she ranked second in popularity, always smiling gently.

She was Rias's first devil servant, raised in the Gremory household since childhood, receiving the same education and growing up side by side with her. She was Rias's closest friend, and the one who understood her best.

Like Tsubaki, Akeno came from one of the Five Great Clans—specifically, the Himejima family. She, Sona, and Tsubaki all enrolled in Kuoh the same year and shared a long friendship.

Though a servant, as the Queen permitted to stay closest to the King, her qualification to stand beside Rias and Sona was unquestionable. Her strength was extraordinary; she was known as the Priestess of Thunder, masterful with lightning demonic power.

"I am the Gremory Knight—Kiba Yuuto."

Next spoke the only male present before Leo's group arrived. Slender and handsome, he carried himself like a refined model, smiling warmly like Akeno. If he attended Sobu High, he might have outshone Hayama Hayato and even rivaled Leo in popularity.

In fact, at Kuoh Academy, Kiba was the most popular male student. After the former all-girls academy transitioned, the school had become overwhelmingly female-dominated—yet Yuuto remained idol-tier, so his presence here surprised no one.

To earn a place as a servant in such a competitive environment—and the only male in a predominantly female school—was already enviable. But unlike Leo, he didn't seek the spotlight. He obediently stood to the side, quietly fulfilling his role.

If Leo was the type who naturally became the center of attention, Yuuto was the opposite—never vying for the spotlight, neither withdrawn nor arrogant, simply content as an observer. Compared to Leo, he invisibly lacked much leadership presence.

"...I am the Gremory Rook—Toujou Koneko."

The last to speak was a petite girl who looked more like a middle-schooler than a high-schooler.

She had shoulder-length white hair and an expression almost devoid of emotion. Her eyes were bright, but her face rarely changed—cute, yet strangely blank, nothing like the textbook image of a beautiful girl.

She truly was a first-year high schooler, the same age as Mahiru—already sixteen this year. Ranked fifth in popularity at Kuoh Academy, she was quite well-liked.

But the moment Leo looked at her, he sensed the aura beneath the surface—yokai.

Even after reincarnating as a devil, that girl was certainly not human. Even knowing the original story, Leo could confirm his instincts instantly.

Seeing the three Gremory servants, Leo finally understood how others must feel when they looked at his servants.

"Truly… an impressive group."

He couldn't help saying it.

At first glance, they all looked like reincarnated devils who had once been ordinary humans. In reality, every single one of them hid something far more complex.

"Thanks for the praise, though that comment might not be very fitting coming from you." Rias raised an eyebrow, her smile teasing. "After all, who in the entire devil world doesn't know the Eligos heir has gathered several unbelievably talented Sacred Gear users?"

"Even the host of Absolute Demise, a Longinus wielder, is one of your servants, right?"

Leo smiled faintly and beckoned Yukino forward.

"She was my first servant. Shame she couldn't become my Queen."

All eyes immediately shifted to Yukino.

She's the host of Absolute Demise? A Longinus wielder among Leo's servants?

Reactions varied across the room.

"Sorry for not being able to become your Queen."

Even under everyone's gaze, Yukino maintained her cool, responding to Leo sharply and without hesitation.

Asuna and Utaha exchanged a brief look with Mahiru. None of them said anything.

So—it seemed the Sitri family and Gremory family still didn't know that a second Longinus wielder had appeared among Leo's servants…

Leo, of course, didn't expose Mahiru. He casually pushed Yukino out as a shield instead.

"Since your servants awakened earlier than mine, they're technically Yukino's senpai. I'll leave her in your care."

His tone carried a subtle implication. Rias and Sona exchanged a quick glance.

"To be honest, we're pretty curious about Yukino's current strength," Sona said, adjusting her glasses.

"Or rather," Rias added with a sweet smile, "we'd like to see the full strength of all your servants."

Everyone present understood their intention, and their gazes turned toward Leo's entire group.

Yukino and the others weren't idiots—quite the opposite. They immediately understood the meaning of those looks.

"Oh?" Leo laughed, a fearless, almost teasing smile. "You want to test yourselves against my servants?"

Sona didn't answer. Instead, she looked toward Rias—the one more interested in a fight.

And Rias, of course, did not disappoint.

"If possible, I want to fight you."

The Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess was bold—she wanted to challenge Leo himself.

This wasn't sudden impulse. She had been thinking about this for a long time.

From both her brother and her best friend, she had heard the same thing—Leo was no longer who he used to be.

Because of that strange variant trait, despite having only recently become a High-Class Devil, he had undergone a complete rebirth—nothing like the boy who had barely awakened during adulthood in the original timeline.

Competitive by nature, Rias wanted to test the strength of the man praised so highly by both her brother and Sona.

This was a probe.

Just as Sona had said earlier—though they were natural allies, they were also natural rivals. On both a personal and political level, Rias wanted to evaluate Leo for herself.

Leo could clearly feel Rias's fighting spirit stirring. His own interest grew.

"Well, now that you've said that, I'm a little curious too. I've always wanted to see just how powerful the legendary Power of Destruction really is."

His words instantly turned the room electric.

"Then let's go to the gym," Sona said immediately. "Sitri House will serve as the referees. A friendly match—how about it?"

Leo and Rias nodded at the same time, without even a moment of hesitation.

"It's a rare opportunity. Let's do it."

"Sparring once in a while can be quite fun."

Their voices overlapped perfectly.

They exchanged a fearless smile.

And so, the entire group headed toward Kuoh Academy's gymnasium—to witness a sudden, explosive battle.
