Keifer's POV
Back at the house, I guided Eces to the living room, making sure she was comfortable. Jay, Keiren, and Keigan followed closely, hovering like they expected me to bite anyone who got too close.
Eces sat quietly, still catching her breath. She glanced at me and, softly, said, "Kuya…" in that calm, trusting tone. My chest tightened at how much weight and trust that one word carried.
"Alright," I said, standing in front of everyone. "We need to make sure this doesn't happen again. Kaizer isn't done, and I don't want to see anyone get hurt."
Aries, standing beside me, nodded. "Agreed. Cameras, security, and no one goes anywhere alone. Especially not Jay."
Jay frowned slightly, looking down at her hands. "I… I don't want to feel trapped. I can take care of myself."
I softened my tone. "You will. But we need to make sure he doesn't get the chance to test that."
Percy, who had been unusually quiet, raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry, Eces. You're under my protection too," he said with a grin.
Eces looked at him seriously and said, "Kuya Percy…" The way she said it—soft, respectful, trusting—made something warm shift inside me.
I let out a quiet chuckle. "See? Everyone's got their own Kuya to protect them now."
Jay rolled her eyes and nudged me. "Yes, Mr. Protector. We get it. But maybe tone it down a little, or Section E might suffocate from your constant hovering."
I raised an eyebrow at her, silently daring her to continue.
Then Section E couldn't hold back anymore. Ci-n grinned and said, "So Kuya Keifer, you've officially become a full-on bodyguard? What, Eces now has her own army?"
Felix snorted. "And a warning label on anyone who even looks at her funny!"
Eces let out a small laugh, the first real sound from her since the warehouse. Relief hit me like a punch. Even after everything, she could still smile.
Jay laughed, resting her head lightly on Eces' shoulder. "See? You're safe, at least as long as Kuya doesn't smother you with overprotection."
I leaned down slightly toward Jay. "Don't worry. I'll make sure nothing happens. And if anyone even thinks about crossing that line…" My gaze swept the group. Clear, deadly, protective.
She looked up at me and gave the faintest smile. One word passed through her mind, but I heard it anyway: "Thank you."
Behind us, the room erupted with Section E's playful chatter. Denzel joked about swords, Calix whispered about disguises, Ci-n suggested a spy mission to track Kaizer. Percy smirked, clearly proud to be called her Kuya too.
It was chaotic. Loud. Ridiculous.
Perfect.
Because if Jay could still smile in the middle of all this, then maybe, just maybe, we could make this mess a little lighter.
And I'd be damned if anyone ever hurt them again.
Once Section E left for their homes, the living room felt too quiet—too empty. Jay, Keiren, Keigan, and Eces had gone upstairs, and even though I knew they were asleep, my mind refused to calm down.
Not just Eces. Not just Jay. Keiren and Keigan too. Kaizer wouldn't stop, and he wouldn't care who got hurt. Any of them could be his next target. My chest tightened.
I turned to Aries, Angelo, and Percy, who were already tense. "Listen," I said, my voice low but firm, "this isn't just about Eces anymore. Kaizer will go after anyone connected to me—or anyone he thinks can stop him. That means Jay, Keiren, Keigan… all of them. We have to treat all four of them as priorities."
Aries' jaw tightened. "Then the setup needs to cover the whole house. Multiple layers. Cameras, motion sensors, patrols for each floor."
Angelo nodded. "I'll organize shifts. No one moves alone. Even if they go to the kitchen or the balcony, someone must be nearby. Every minute."
Percy leaned forward, serious as ever. "And I'll monitor everything digitally—street cams, cameras inside the house, phone feeds. Any strange movement, we see it immediately. I'll cover them all."
I let out a breath, my hands clenching. Eces had called me Kuya earlier, and that trust weighed heavily on me. She had given me her confidence, and now it extended to the other three as well. I wouldn't fail any of them.
We mapped it out carefully:
Cameras covering every entry and exit.
Motion sensors in hallways, stairs, and balconies.
Patrol shifts—Angelo and Aries alternating nights and days.
Percy on constant digital monitoring.
I'd personally stay with Jay, but also keep a plan for Eces, Keiren, and Keigan.
Aries smirked faintly. "You're glued to them 24/7, huh?"
I shot him a sharp glare. "If I leave them alone for even a second… Kaizer could strike. I won't risk it."
Angelo leaned back, folding his arms. "Better safe than sorry. Let's make sure they don't even see the danger coming."
I nodded. "Exactly. Tonight, we start monitoring. Tomorrow, we set up the equipment fully. Nothing gets past us."
Even as I stood there with them, my mind kept drifting to the four upstairs—Jay probably trying to distract Eces from the fear, Keiren and Keigan oblivious but still at risk.
I clenched my jaw. Kaizer would learn quickly: no one I care about gets hurt while I'm alive.
Not Jay. Not Keiren. Not Eces. Not Keigan.
I promised myself.
And I would keep that promise… even if I had to burn the world down to do it.
Third Person POV
After the house was fully secured and the night shifts arranged, Keifer finally headed upstairs. The tension of the day still lingered, but seeing Jay waiting in their bedroom, exhausted yet serene, eased some of the weight off his shoulders.
"Kuya," Eces whispered softly from her room as she passed, giving him a small, trusting smile. Keifer nodded, the reminder of her trust tightening something protective in his chest.
He entered their bedroom quietly. Jay was already in bed, her hair spilling across the pillow, looking peaceful despite everything that had happened.
Keifer slipped under the blanket and drew her close. Their bodies pressed together, legs tangled, her arms wrapped around his chest. She sighed softly into him, and he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her hair.
"Finally," he murmured, the word heavy with relief, love, and lingering tension from the day.
Jay lifted her head slightly, her lips brushing against his chest. "Finally," she whispered back, her hand tracing soothing patterns along his shoulders. His hands rested on her waist, holding her as if proximity alone could keep her safe.
They stayed like that for a long moment, hearts syncing in the quiet of the room. Keifer kissed her forehead softly. "I'll always keep you safe, wifey," he murmured, and Jay nuzzled closer, feeling the warmth and protection he radiated.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the house, the others settled in for the night:
Aries slept beside Keiren, holding him in a protective, brotherly embrace until the younger boy drifted into peaceful slumber.
Angelo lay beside Keigan, quietly reassuring him with gentle touches, making sure he felt secure.
Percy stayed with Eces, who still carried the tension of the day. He held her hand and let her rest her head on his shoulder, rubbing her back gently. "It's over for tonight," he whispered softly, his voice calm and grounding. "You're safe, Eces. I've got you."
Eces let out a shaky breath, finally relaxing into his presence. "Thanks, Kuya," she murmured, her voice barely audible.
"I'll always be here for you," he said, squeezing her hand lightly. For a moment, the world felt lighter, and the bond between them—the protective brother and the trusting sister—felt stronger than ever.
Back in their room, Keifer held Jay close, pressing another soft kiss to her forehead. The silence around them felt sacred—peaceful, warm, and grounding—a quiet moment where love, trust, and protection wrapped everyone in the house like an invisible shield.
Morning sunlight spilled through the windows, bathing Keifer's house in a soft golden glow. One by one, the eight of them began to wake.
In the master bedroom, Keifer and Jay stirred first. Still wrapped in each other's warmth, Keifer pressed a gentle kiss to Jay's cheeks, letting her nestle closer for a few precious moments before they both got up to start the day.
Down the hall, Angelo and Keigan slowly woke. Keigan yawned and rubbed his eyes, still groggy, while Angelo stayed alert, ensuring the younger boy moved carefully and safely around the room.
In another bedroom, Aries and Keiren stretched and sat up. Keiren groaned dramatically, while Aries stifled a laugh at his antics before helping him get ready.
In the last room, Eces and Percy were already stirring. Eces blinked sleepily, still tense from recent events, while Percy meticulously checked his hair and face in a small mirror. He offered her a reassuring smile, and Eces leaned lightly against his shoulder, comforted by his steady presence.
Soon, all eight gathered around the dining table for breakfast—Keifer, Jay, Keigan, Keiren, Eces, Percy, Angelo, and Aries. Plates of toast, eggs, and fresh fruit were set out, but the cheerful chatter was subdued; the looming exams weighed heavily on them.
Angelo's sharp voice cut through the quiet. "Listen up. All of you—except Percy and me—have exams in two days. No excuses, no distractions. Focus. I expect results."
A collective freeze ran across the table. Keiren nearly choked on his toast, Eces stiffened mid-bite, and even Jay's hand trembled slightly.
Keifer placed a comforting hand on Jay's shoulder. "We've got this," he murmured softly, steadying her nerves as well as his own.
Angelo continued, pacing the room. "After breakfast, three hours of strict study. No phones, no wandering, no talking. I want to see effort and focus."
Percy, as usual, was preoccupied with his appearance. He barely touched his food, adjusting his hair in a hand mirror and muttering, "I look perfect… even while studying."
With groans and sighs, everyone settled with books and pens. Angelo patrolled the room like a hawk, making sure no one distracted themselves. Keifer stayed close to Jay and Keigan to Eces, helping them focus, while Keifer still keeping an alert eye on the others.
Three hours passed in tense silence, punctuated only by the scratching of pens and occasional sighs. When Angelo finally allowed a break, he folded his arms and asked, "Good. Now… tell me about this trip to India. Where are you going? What's the plan? And I don't want silly answers."
Excitement replaced the tension. Eces explained the cities and temples, Jay described local cuisine, Keiren peppered questions about traditions, and Keifer listened with pride. Percy, of course, adjusted his hair mid-conversation, maintaining his signature obsession even in the middle of planning.
Angelo remained stern at the head of the table, arms crossed, though a faint twitch at the corner of his mouth betrayed his amusement at the group's enthusiasm.
By the end of breakfast, the plan for the day was clear: continued study, light preparation for the trip, and keeping vigilant against any threats. The house hummed with a delicate balance of discipline, planning, and the comforting presence of family and friends looking out for each other.
