Keifer's POV
By midnight, the house had transformed again.
Not into chaos this time.
Into organized chaos.
Which, with Section E, was still chaos.
Suitcases stood near the entrance. Bags were lined up beside the stairs. Chargers were being checked for the third time. Someone had misplaced a phone. Someone else had forgotten their jacket.
And Percy was sitting on top of one of his bags.
"Why are you sitting there?" Honey asked.
"Protecting it."
"From what?"
"People."
"You are the people."
Percy considered that.
"Exactly. I know how dangerous we are."
I looked toward Jay.
She was standing near the entrance, checking her bag one last time.
"Everything?"
She looked at me. "Yes."
I raised an eyebrow.
She sighed and opened the bag again.
"Keifer."
"Just checking."
"I know how to pack."
"I know."
"Then why are you checking?"
"Because I love you."
She stared at me.
"That doesn't answer the question."
"It answers every question."
She rolled her eyes, but she was smiling.
The next destination was Amritsar.
Punjab.
For the next two or three days, the house there had already been prepared. Rooms had been arranged, the staff had been informed, and everything was ready for our arrival.
We were leaving Jaipur at midnight.
Which meant that most of us were already tired before the journey had even begun.
Eces stood near the front door with Krish, looking at the final list on her phone.
"Everyone is here," she announced.
Keiren immediately raised his hand.
"I have a question."
Eces looked at him.
"Are we actually leaving now?"
"Yes."
"Then I have no questions."
Keigan stared at him.
"You literally just had one."
"It has been answered."
That was apparently the end of the discussion.
The cars began filling one by one.
Our car was near the front of the convoy.
Keifer, Jay, Eces, Krish, and Keigan.
Eces took the front passenger seat.
Krish sat beside her.
Jay and I settled into the back, with Keigan beside us.
The moment the doors closed, the outside noise became softer.
The engines started one after another.
One car.
Then another.
Then another.
Soon, the convoy began moving through the quiet midnight roads of Jaipur.
The city looked completely different at that hour.
The bright streets were quieter.
The traffic had thinned.
Shops were closed.
Streetlights passed over the windows in slow intervals.
Jay sat beside me, already looking tired.
I glanced at her.
"You can sleep."
"I'm not sleepy."
She yawned.
Keigan looked over from the other side.
"She is definitely sleepy."
Jay glared at him.
"I am not."
Eces turned slightly from the front.
"Ate Jay, sleep."
Jay stared at her.
"Why is everyone against me?"
"Because you're yawning while arguing that you're not tired," Krish said calmly.
Jay looked offended.
I smiled.
She leaned against my shoulder.
"Wake me if something happens."
"I will."
"And don't let them stop somewhere without me."
"Of course."
She closed her eyes.
Less than five minutes later, she was asleep.
I looked down at her.
Her head rested against my shoulder, her breathing slowly becoming even.
I adjusted my position slightly so she would be more comfortable.
Across from us, Keigan was looking out of the window.
Eces had also become quiet in the front.
The entire car slowly settled into silence.
Even Keiren's absence was noticeable.
That was how peaceful it was.
The road stretched ahead.
The convoy moved through the night.
And one by one, everyone began falling asleep.

Hours passed.
The roads changed.
The city lights became fewer.
The darkness outside became more open.
At some point, I felt Jay shift closer in her sleep.
My arm was already around her, keeping her steady as the car moved.
I looked toward the front.
Eces was asleep too.
Her head had tilted slightly toward the window.
Krish was awake, quietly watching the road and occasionally checking the navigation.
Keigan was still awake as well.
"You should sleep," I told him quietly.
He glanced back.
"So should you."
"I have a responsibility."
"To stare at Jay while she sleeps?"
I looked at him.
He smiled faintly.
"I'm joking."
"Sleep."
He looked out the window again.
A few minutes later, he did.
Eventually, even I began to feel tired.
The steady motion of the car.
The darkness outside.
Jay asleep against me.
The quiet hum of the engine.
It was almost impossible to stay awake.
And then—
The convoy slowed.
I opened my eyes properly.
Krish had turned slightly.
"We're stopping."
I looked around.
Jay was still asleep.
Eces was still asleep.
Keigan had also fallen asleep.
Krish glanced toward the back.
"Restaurant. We'll eat something."
I looked at Jay.
She hadn't moved.
Neither had Eces.
Outside, the other cars began pulling into the parking area.
Everyone slowly started getting out.
But the girls?
Absolutely not.
Jay remained asleep against me.
Honey was asleep in another car.
Freya, Ella, and Rakki were sleeping too.
Grace was asleep.
And Grazel was sleeping peacefully on Denzel's shoulder.
Denzel himself looked exhausted, but he hadn't moved much because the baby was sleeping comfortably.
Eces was still asleep in the front seat.
Keiran opened the door of our car slightly and looked inside.
He immediately whispered.
"Are Ate Jay and Ate Eces sleeping?"
"Yes," I whispered back.
He looked at both of them.
Then nodded seriously.
"Don't wake them."
Krish glanced at him.
"That was already the plan."
Keiren nodded.
"Good."
He closed the door carefully.
I almost smiled.
For once, the entire group had silently agreed on something.
The girls were not to be disturbed.
Inside the restaurant, everyone gathered around the tables.
The boys were still tired, but hunger had clearly defeated sleep.
Percy immediately started looking through the menu.
"I need something substantial."
"You said that last time," Honey would have said.
But Honey was asleep in the car.
So Percy looked around.
Then quietly ordered something.
"Don't tell her."
Blaster stared at him.
"She is asleep."
"Exactly."
Keigan laughed quietly.
We ordered food and drinks for everyone.
For the girls, we chose things that would travel well.
Sandwiches.
Wraps.
Pastries.
Fruit.
Drinks.
And enough food for Grazel when she woke up.
Denzel carefully checked the packed items while still holding the sleeping baby.
"Don't give me anything messy," he whispered.
"You're carrying a five-month-old," Keiren pointed out.
"Yes. Which is why I am requesting a clean food situation."
That was completely reasonable.
When everything was packed, we returned to the cars.
Nobody woke the girls.
Not Jay.
Not Eces.
Not Honey.
Not Freya.
Not Ella.
Not Rakki.
Not Grace.
Grazel was still asleep against Denzel's shoulder.
Even the bodyguards moved quietly.
The entire parking area had become a strange, silent operation.
Food bags were placed carefully inside the cars.
Drinks were secured.
Blankets were adjusted.
Doors were closed softly.
I returned to my seat.
Jay hadn't moved much.
Her head was still against my shoulder.
I carefully placed the food beside her for later.
Then I looked toward Eces.
She was still asleep in the front.
Krish adjusted the temperature slightly before returning his attention to the road.
Keigan climbed back into his seat.
"Everyone alive?" he whispered.
"Barely," I replied.
He looked at Jay.
"She didn't wake?"
"No."
"Impressive."
Jay shifted suddenly.
Everyone froze.
She murmured something in her sleep.
Then settled again.
Keigan slowly exhaled.
"That was close."
I looked at him.
"You're acting like we were defusing a bomb."
"With this group? Sometimes it's the same thing."
I couldn't argue with that.
The engine started again.
The convoy began moving.
The restaurant lights disappeared behind us.
Outside, the road stretched endlessly through the darkness.
Inside the car, everyone slowly returned to sleep.
Eces remained asleep in the front.
Keigan leaned against the window.
Jay stayed curled against me.
And Krish continued driving through the night.
I looked down at Jay.
She had no idea that half the group had quietly organized an entire food operation around her sleep.
She would probably laugh when she found out.
Or complain that we should have woken her.
Probably both.
I adjusted the blanket around her.
The road ahead was long.
Punjab was still hours away.
But there was something peaceful about traveling like this.
Five people in one car.
A sleeping wife beside me.
A sleeping friend in the front.
A quiet road.
And the promise of another place waiting at the end of it.
Amritsar.
A new house.
A new city.
Two or three more days together.
And, knowing Section E, probably enough chaos to fill the entire journey before we even reached there.
I leaned my head back against the seat.
Jay shifted closer in her sleep.
My arm tightened gently around her.
The car continued through the night.
And somewhere beyond the darkness ahead—
Punjab was waiting.
The first thing I noticed was the change in the road.
The car had slowed.
Not because of traffic.
Because we had arrived.
I opened my eyes properly and looked out through the window.
The darkness had softened into the pale blue of early morning. The road was quieter here, lined with trees and the occasional warm light from houses and buildings.
Then I saw the gates.
The Amritsar house.
We had finally reached.
After hours on the road.
After one midnight departure.
One restaurant stop.
Several sleeping passengers.
And enough snacks to qualify as a small travelling grocery store.
The convoy slowly entered through the large gates.
The house was already lit.
Staff members were waiting near the entrance, while the bodyguards began coordinating the cars as they pulled in one after another.
I looked down at Jay.
Still asleep.
Completely unaware that we had arrived.
Her head was resting against my shoulder, her face peaceful, one of my arms still wrapped around her.
I smiled faintly.
"Jay," I whispered.
Nothing.
I tried again.
"Wifey."
Still nothing.
Keigan looked over from his seat.
"She's gone."
"She's sleeping."
"That's what I said."
From the front, Eces turned around.
She was awake now, though she still looked tired.
"Kuya," she said quietly, "Ate Jay is not waking up?"
"No."
Eces looked at Jay for a moment.
Then nodded.
"Then carry her."
I looked at her.
"That was very easy for you to decide."
"She needs sleep."
Krish glanced back from the front.
"She has been asleep for hours."
"Long journey," Eces replied simply.
Keigan leaned back.
"Honestly, I don't think she would wake up even if the car started driving again."
I looked at Jay.
He might have been right.
The car finally stopped.
Outside, doors began opening.
Voices rose softly.
People were waking up.
The girls in the other cars were awake now too.
Honey stepped out first, stretching her arms dramatically.
"Where are we?"
"Amritsar," Percy replied.
She stared at him.
"We arrived?"
"Yes."
"Why didn't anyone wake me?"
Percy looked offended.
"Because you were sleeping."
Honey considered this.
"Good."
Freya stepped out next, adjusting her hair and looking around sleepily. Ella followed, still yawning, while Rakki emerged from another car holding her bag and looking like she had been personally betrayed by the concept of midnight travel.
Grace was awake too.
Denzel carefully stepped out while holding Grazel, who was still sleeping peacefully against his shoulder.
Somehow, the baby had slept through almost everything.
An impressive achievement.
The only person still completely asleep was Jay.
I opened the back door.
The moment I moved, Jay shifted slightly.
I froze.
She murmured something unintelligible and settled again.
Keigan slowly stepped aside.
"I think you should hurry before she wakes up and realizes everyone is watching."
I glanced around.
Half the group was, in fact, watching.
Percy had already noticed.
Honey had noticed Percy watching.
Keiren was standing nearby with a sleepy expression.
And Eces was looking at me with the calm patience of someone who had already decided what I was supposed to do.
"Kuya," she said.
"Yes?"
"Carry Ate."
There was no room for discussion.
I carefully slid one arm beneath Jay's knees and the other around her back.
Then I lifted her.
She barely reacted.
Her head settled against my chest.
One arm moved automatically around my neck.
I looked down at her.
Still asleep.
Keiren stared.
"Ate Jay didn't wake up."
"No," I replied.
"How?"
"Talent."
Keigan nodded seriously.
"Advanced sleeping."
Eces stepped ahead of us.
"I'll show you the room, Kuya."
"Thank you."
She led us through the house.
The Amritsar house was beautiful.
The entrance opened into a large hall with high ceilings and wide windows. Morning light had begun filtering through the curtains, giving the entire place a soft golden appearance.
There were long corridors, wooden details, comfortable sitting areas, and enough rooms for everyone to have their own space.
But nobody had the energy to explore properly.
Not yet.
The journey had taken everything out of us.
Eces walked ahead, checking the room assignments.
"Kuya, your room is this way."
Jay shifted slightly in my arms.
I immediately adjusted my hold.
Eces glanced back.
"Ate?"
"Still sleeping."
"Good."
She opened the door.
The room was spacious, quiet, and already prepared.
The curtains were partly closed, keeping the early morning light soft.
I walked to the bed and carefully lowered Jay onto it.
The moment I tried to move away, her fingers tightened around my shirt.
I stopped.
Eces watched from the doorway.
"She doesn't want you to leave."
I looked at Jay.
"She's asleep."
Eces gave me a small look.
"Still."
I couldn't help smiling.
I gently loosened her fingers from my shirt and lay down beside her.
The moment I did, she shifted closer automatically.
Her head found my shoulder.
My arm wrapped around her waist.
And within seconds, she was asleep again.
I looked toward Eces.
"Thank you."
She nodded.
"Sleep, Kuya."
She paused at the door.
Then added, "And tell Ate Jay to sleep properly when she wakes up."
I smiled.
"I will."
Eces closed the door quietly.
The house outside was still filled with movement.
People entering rooms.
Bags being placed down.
Someone complaining about needing water.
Someone else asking where the bathrooms were.
But inside our room, everything was quiet.
Jay was asleep beside me.
The long journey was finally over.
At least temporarily.
I closed my eyes.
A few minutes later, the entire house seemed to fall silent.
Everyone had arrived.
Everyone had eaten something during the night.
Everyone had been given rooms.
And everyone had made the same decision.
Sleep.
The girls had already gone back to their rooms.
Honey had apparently collapsed onto her bed.
Freya and Ella had disappeared into their rooms.
Rakki had announced that she would sleep for "at least ten hours."
Grace had settled Grazel carefully before finally lying down herself.
Even Eces had gone to rest.
Krish had followed soon after.
Keigan had barely made it to his room before disappearing.
The entire house, which had been full of movement just moments earlier, became quiet.
I opened my eyes once more.
Jay was still sleeping.
Her face was relaxed.
No tension.
No worry.
Just exhaustion.
I brushed a few strands of hair away from her forehead.
Then I closed my eyes again.
We had arrived in Amritsar.
The next few days were waiting for us.
But for now—
There was nothing to do.
No plans.
No sightseeing.
No arguments over food.
No teasing.
No chaos.
Just sleep.
And after a journey that had carried us through the night and across hundreds of kilometres—
That was exactly what everyone needed.
A few hours later, the house would wake up again.
And knowing Section E—
The peace would not survive for long.
But for now, Amritsar was quiet.
And all of us were asleep.
