Chapter 9 - The Goddess and the Archdemon

In the training courtyard of Elaria Castle, the training of Group 1 — often described as the 'elite group' — was underway, was taking place.

"Listen to me carefully, you must learn this incantation to the letter or it won't work," said a mage to four of the students.

"Tell me, why use long incantations?" she asked the magician.

He then replied, "Longer incantations allow for better channeling of magical energy; even a low-level spell can become far stronger, the spell will be more powerful."

One of the boys admitted, "I understand better now," scratching his head, a little embarrassed.

Near him, the sound of wooden swords clashing echoed across the courtyard. "Come on, give me your best shot!"

"I'm counting on it, don't come crying when I've given you a good thrashing!" he said, approaching his opponent.

Tchik! Tchik! Tchik! Tchik!

Among the others who cast spells wielding staves and the students' duels supervised by a few knights, two people observed their training from afar. They were standing on the steps of the courtyard; it was the priestess and Sir Davan the captain of the royal guard.

"I expected nothing less from our heroes; they learn quickly," the captain said to the priestess.

The priestess smiled slightly as she said, "They all have the potential to defeat the demonic army, and your name will be recorded as having been their most fundamental help."

While everything continued without incident, Yuki sat slightly apart in a corner, her gaze distant and filled with boredom.

She remained seated on the floor, her back resting against the wall. She was brooding, doing nothing in particular when someone approached her. "Looks like you're about to fall asleep," she joked, sitting down next to her. This girl was Itsuki, one of her friends.

"Haaa…" she sighed. "You know very well that my unique skill is still useless." she admitted with displeasure.

"To think that you have the best unique skill, and you act like you're disappointed." She closed her eyes and looked away as if she were jealous.

"Stop acting like a baby, you know it stresses me out that so much is expected of me," said Yuki, trying to convince her.

"If you say so, Yuki," Itsuki breathed calmly.

Yuki frowned and said, "You're getting in on it too."

"What do you mean?" asked Itsuki curiously.

"You know very well that Yuki is my last name, not my first name," she revealed.

"It's true that your first name is Naoki, it's just that everyone calls you that."

"Aah, it's because of Amane who never wants to call people by their first name and cut Yukihira in half," she muttered, getting angry all by herself.

Then she calmed down and, with a touch of nostalgia, said, "It's also because of my brother, since we have the same names."

"Ah yes. That's true, there's that too, Amane couldn't bring himself to pull himself together after his death," said Itsuki, looking at the sky, his expression changing to more serious.

"I hope Amane is doing well, their training must be hard, especially since they're training outside the capital," thought Yuki, looking at the others.

She then stood up abruptly and said to Itsuki, "We don't have time to dwell on this, we need to become strong." extending her hand towards her with a smile, then Itsuki smiled back. "Well said," she said, taking her hand and standing up.

At the same time, in a room with a bed, the shadow stretched, filling the entire floor. Two figures emerged, standing Amane and Eleanor, gradually stepping out of the shadow.

"Where are we?" asked Amane as soon as they arrived.

"In my room," she said, simultaneously tidying the bed which was still a mess.

"What does that mean?" Amane wondered to herself, "She's sending us straight to her room."

"Why are you sending us here?" she asked authoritatively. Eleanor examined Amane's clothes, especially the hole in her uniform at the chest, which had been pierced by the sword.

"What are you looking at?" Amane asked suspiciously. Eleanor then replied, "Nothing, I just thought you had magnificent breasts," she said without hesitation.

"She's mocking me," Amane thought angrily, glancing at Eleanor's chest. "Yours are enormous. Compared to you, a cutting board would have more curves than me!"

"What's wrong, goddess?" she asked Amane, who was bright red.

Amane turned his back on his interface and the keyboard that appeared. "Nothing, I'm fine."

"Damn, this thing is useless!" she despaired in her thoughts. Eleanor leaned forward slightly to see what she was doing; she only saw her throwing something in the air, then she shrugged and headed towards the wardrobe.

When Amane turned around, she saw Eleanor rummaging through the closet. Her gaze then fell on her own torn and dirt-stained clothes, dirty clothes. "So look at my clothes," she understood, "Even so, hers are still quite big, luckily I'm only 16, mine will still grow."

"Here, this should fit you," Eleanor said, handing Amane a bright red dress. Amane looked curiously at the dress. "Don't you have anything else, anything simpler?"

"I don't have anything that will fit you, uh...around the chest," she said, handing over heels.

"I'm trying to restrain myself from triggering my aura but it's going too far," Amane thought, her eyes turning a menacing red and an expression of anger appearing on her face.

As she was about to speak, Eleanor knelt with her head bowed, saying, "I am sorry for having disrespected you. If you wish to take my life to make amends, I will disappear immediately," she apologized with overflowing calm.

"If I were still like I was two days ago, I might have eliminated her, but now I'm calmer." she told herself in her mind, then she declared, "I forgive you and you don't need to die, but be certain that if you do it again, who knows what might happen."

She then sat on the bed with Eleanor, who got up. "I'll put on the dress and heels if you insist," Amane announced.

Eleanor then replied, "Actually, the real reason for these clothes is for the ceremony." Amane was curious. "Ceremony?"

"Yes, this is your day arriving in the city of demons, and I will be your guide, the archdemon Eleanor Crimson."
