Gao Ming's room was maintained in its original state; every simple, bland, velvet-designed piece of furniture, from the cabinets to the sofa and coffee table, was still in the room.
The atmosphere was getting chillier and heavier as Ren spent more time inside. He didn't want to be here anymore, and he just entered. Raindrops smashed against the windowpane, and the sky was getting darker as the room had grown quite dim.
Renu didn't even switch on the lights as she went immediately to the balcony, where she admired the courtyard and the pouring rain. His gaze then focused on a small photo frame on the living room wall, covered with velvet cloth.
"Remove the clothes, and see what it is." Renu's voice echoed. Ren walked towards it, having zero expectation at this point in his adventure. He pulled the cloth, and what was revealed to him was a black-and-white wedding photo.
The wedding was of Renu and Ren; the photo showed them smiling and using their hands to make a heart symbol. It looked nice, except for the fact that only Ren was in color; Renu, in her feathery, flowing wedding dress, was in black and white.
Did they get married? When?
"You look beautiful." He commented.
She was still watching the rain, not bothering to turn her head. "Do you now remember anything?"
He still didn't, not even a spark of something. "No, not a single thing. What happened in the tunnel that night?"
"Your brain." She said, and he was confused now as he waited for her to continue.
She turned to me and strutted to him. "You saw something traumatizing, your brain doesn't want you to be traumatized, it deletes that memory."
He understood now. "That makes sense. I've seen people with those cases."
She was beside him to admire the photo. "I was the one who took you home that night."
He was half-shocked by that information; he still didn't remember anything at all.
She shrugged, "You designed my subplot in the game to always tell where you are, that's my favorite thing to watch you."
He cringed at the realization that she knew what he had designed for her to do; she was his creation, brought to life, basically.
"I hate Yanderes. I just wanted to convey that, nothing personal, right?" He asked, he really didn't know how to deal with this situation. It was due to the ability he gave her that she found him, so not so bad after all.
"It's okay, I am here now to... I don't know what to do, no." She said, he understood the fact that she didn't fully know outside the game, but how, despite being so expressive, the one-dimensional character he had created in five minutes was a mystery.
He was more curious about what occurred in the tunnel. "What did you see in the tunnel?"
"You're talking to something, it was within the shadows, and you were trying to enter with it, until I dragged you out." She said, his eyes popped open in shock. He still couldn't remember anything to verify what she said, but he had to take everything she said as the truth; her character, as far as he could design, wasn't any danger to him, at most annoyance.
"Did you happen to hear anything in the conversation?" He asked, hoping she did.
She nodded and placed one hand on his shoulder. "It said so much."
He was more interested, "Come on, say it."
She gave a bitter smile. "You are meant to be dead. You made a deal that discussed things crawling out from your games, and the only way to weaken resentment is to
He completed her statement. "Let people play the games I designed."
She nodded. "The people you invite to play, you either lead them or sacrifice them to appeal to the entities." Ren nodded; he was in for a lot.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask the passengers." She said.
He was shocked when he heard that.
"The passengers of the bus that night?" He asked to confirm.
"Yeah." She confirmed.
