A yawn escaped from a beautiful figure reclining on a soft bed. As he stretched, a lingering sense of perplexity washed over him. He eventually sat up, looking around with a dazed expression.
"Hmm... something is different?" he questioned himself. He tried to stand, continuing a stretch that felt incredibly sweet, as if his body were waking up from a decade-long slumber.
Once he found his footing, he began to survey his surroundings. He searched for a reason why everything felt so familiar, and then it hit him. Wasn't this his house? The one he lived in before everything went wrong? Yes, he remembered it all now.
In utter disbelief, he tried to push the thought away. He was probably dreaming. This had to be one big dream; none of it could be real. He was meant to be with his newfound family in the other world.
"Wait... why aren't they here? Lucas? Where are you, Lucas?"
Panic began to set in. "Kai? Are you there too?"
