Cut from Chapter 10 - Too Soon
Why it was deleted: This happened too early in the story. Luca wasn't ready emotionally, and it felt forced rather than earned. The kiss was moved to Chapter 15 after more development.
"Again," I command, watching Luca practice defensive moves.
He's improving. Fast. But his form is sloppy.
I approach, positioning myself behind him. "Your stance is wrong."
"Then show me," he challenges.
I press against his back, adjusting his arms, his hips. The contact is electric. The bond hums between us.
"Like this," I murmur, voice rougher than intended.
He's trembling. Not from fear. From something else.
"Rian," he breathes.
I turn him in my arms. We're face to face, inches apart.
"Tell me to stop," I say. "Tell me you don't want this."
"I—" He's confused. The bond is pulling him, but his mind resists. "I don't know what I want."
"Then let me show you."
I kiss him. Deep. Claiming. Desperate.
For a moment, he responds. His hands grip my shirt, mouth opening under mine.
Then he shoves me away. Hard.
"No." He's breathing hard, eyes wide. "No, I'm not ready. I don't—this is the bond talking. Not real."
Guilt floods me. He's right. It's too soon. He's not ready.
"I'm sorry," I say, stepping back. "You're right. I shouldn't have—"
"Just leave me alone. Please."
I do. Hating myself for pushing.
Later that night, Luca's POV:
I touch my lips. Still tingling from his kiss.
Part of me wanted it. Wanted him. But I'm not ready to admit that.
Not yet.
Maybe never.
I fall asleep confused, aroused, and angry at myself for almost giving in.
[Scene was replaced with a slower build, more resistance from Luca, and better emotional development before their first real kiss in Chapter 15]
