Chapter 10 - chapter 10: system upgrade

He looked at them his gaze emotionalless as he looked at them, not flicker of recognition flushed through his eyes.

He opened his mouth and said his voice cold and carried a power unimaginable.

" You shall live, spread the word. But you will not remember my face until I permit so."

The lamps flames with the contestants flickered then sank into the chest of the contestants. They disappeared, their bright illumination disappearing just like that . The contestants were unable to do anything against the silent command that had imprinted itself in their brains.

They turned and left disappearing into the night fleeing from the very forest that was a source of their nightmare.

...

Up in the sky where the elders were they could feel the raw power Alistair produced as thsat on the throne. When the eyes had looked towards the elders most of them had broken as though facing athe eyes that dissected their souls.

Some of the elders had knelt , praying proclaiming the rise of the lamp God , while others slit his their throats offering their blood as tribute.

The grand elder was the only one who was left standing as he watched a large shadow move from around Alistair towards them. Anyone on it's way was killed or evaporated.

He grand elder took a huge bone and began to curve on a stone , words, record of what had happened before he could be killed.

He could feel his death approaching. This would be the end of their sect. The sect leader was dead, he was going to die and he knew the shadows would reach the sect which was built floating on top the the very mountain.

When the hungry one returns , the world shall me swallowed.

He was killed right after he finished writing the words.

...

Alistair sat on the throne still a little out of it. He could feel his core, this had occured when the flames entered his body, they had stimulated and merged to form a black core that floated at the very center of his heart. He knew instinctively that he had formed a divine core .

Things had moved too fast too quickly. He had become the very thing he despised. Gods.

Ding

( System upgrading.....95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99%,100%)

( System has been upgraded)

Alistair looked at the system panel. He had noticed during his integration that that system had started to upgrade the moment he touched the fire, but he could not look or check since he was in Soo much pain.

He knew he had gotten way stronger and had already awakened but he didn't know his power level as a God.

( Check status)

He clicked on the words.

Alistair looked at the powers he had gained and felt like he had really gained a lot from all the experience. If he went back in time he'd do it again with no hesitation. In this world he had become a powerhouse.

He looked at the locked faith value. Since he was a God he had to be worshipped. He had to have believers who would offer sacrifices to him . He was going to be the best God ever.

He looked at the techniques he had , the side effects were brutal but no pain no gain. He didn't care if he has to sacrifice his soul to achieve his goal.

Every cultivator had a soul flame, a small flame hid in their soul that supported their cultivation and determined their affinity to nature. For example a fire user had different shades of red, white and maybe a mixture of flames . A water user has blue, an esth user is brown and a plant cultivator is green.

There different routes of cultivation and each has a unique flame that represents them. The soul flame is attached to the soul and if it is removed the owner dies. Alistair was happy since he could convert the soul flames and use it both internally and externally rather than before when it was used for just strength.

It was time for him to leave. He jumped down from the throne and unfurled his wings. The sun was rising and the light reflected against his wings giving it's already holddn color a shimmering. He landed on the mountain crator and looked around at the devastation he had caused with a small satisfaction.

He had now became a disaster and he wondered how the government would respond to that.

....

Alistair was still musing when from the east he heard a very familiar sound. They were faster than he thought.

Dozens of helicopters emerged from the east, the sun illuminating them as they approached. Drones swarmed above them like bees before they were given commands and flew straight toward Alistair . Cultivators emerged right behind the helicopters fully armoured and ready to fight.

Alistair who was standing in the crator cursed his crow mouth. He was tired enough and more fighting was just too much for him. He wanted to take a well deserved bath that could wiped off all the blood on his body. His face was unrecognizable. He also just wanted to sleep.

The helicopters had different insignias written on them that Alistair believed they were from the sects or organization. He was still uninformed of the world since he was picked up by the demonic sect before he could even attack.

The isignia were thunder consortium, heavens eye, the lotus corps and many others he did have time to read them all.

" Whoever you are surrender to the council and you will be spared!" A voice came from a loud speaker.

" No, you people are so fucking loud," Alistair answer with no care," just fight if you wanna."

His voice was transmitted to the command center in the capital.

" This is your last warning," the voice came again.

" I said fight if you want, I'm not surrendering."

Now was the best time to train and adapt to his new powers.

He looked at the helicopters that now reached where he was.

(Threat detected: 473 life signature)

( 100 mortals,150 spirit conduct, 200 core innovators , 23 soul architect)

Okay that was alot if people, he thought to himself.

He looked toward them. The cultivation system was Soo different from what he had imagined that it had given him a sock. He knew the moment he finished fighting the library would be his friend.

( Activate illumination field)

The first wave of attack came, they shot missiles straight at him . The missile had been made from a combination of technology, talismans and curved with runes to increase its firepower and removed nuclear side effects. A genius combination of technology and cultivation.

They struck the crator but didn't explode. Panic set in the group wondering if the missiles were faulty. When the dust settled, they saw the missiles floating in the air wrapped in a bubble like structure that seemed to be made out of burning white light . It looked somehow liquid.

The people watching it through the drones were surprised.

" Since I've let you start, it's my turn next ,isn't it?" He said as he pushed the missiles back them. Alistair laughed at That.

When they saw the missiles coming back to them most of them panicked. The cultivators who were in the back jumped Infront and redirected the missiles into the sky the above where they exploded.

" That's not good for the ozone layer," Alistair said out loud.

Everything stopped for a second and looked at him incredulous.

Wtf is wrong with the guy.
