Chapter 10 - Asura Blade Intent! Perfection!

After about two days of non-stop reading, Draven finally closed the thick book in his hand. Fortunately, in this space, he could not feel hunger or tiredness, so he was full of vigor the whole time.

"Is this the original Asura Blade Intent technique?" Draven asked the old man with a serious look on his face.

The term Asura Intent was not foreign to him, as this was considered one of the topmost types of weapon intent in this world. The price for each of those secret manuals cost a massive fortune.

The reason why it was held in such high regard was because, unlike other weapon intents, Asura Intent combined different weapon intents to form a weapon intent at a much higher level. For example, the Sword Saber Asura Intent combined the sword and saber intents, or the War Hammer Intent which combined the axe and hammer intents.

If one could practice it to the perfection stage, the weapon intent could even take on a tangible form by consuming the vital chi of the practitioner.

Draven had bought the Sword Saber Asura Intent secret manual before, but for some reason, the Dream God Ring did not record this technique, so he gave it to Jessy. As for the reason why the Dream God Ring did not record it, Draven had a rough idea. This had happened many times before when the potential of the technique he tried to record was lacking compared to the standard of the Dream God Ring.

But now, after he read the entire Asura Blade Intent manual, a new dream slab appeared on the Dream God Ring.

[Dream God Ring]

[Dream Points: 200]

[Life Span: 17/100]

[Innate Dream Walker Physique (Mortal)]

[Shadow World Behemoth Bloodline (Mortal): 0.005/100(+)]

[Chaos Divine Ape Bloodline (Mortal): 100%]

...

[Dreamer Slab: 5]

[Incomplete Asura Battle Body Forging Art (Mortal): 0/100]

[Asura Blade Intent: 0/100(+)]

...

Unexpectedly, this Asura Blade Intent technique turned out to be like his Five Mountain King Body Forging Art, which used the intent to temper the body. On top of that, this technique was still incomplete, meaning there was more to it.

But Draven was already shocked to the core after reading the entire manual. This one alone was ten times more complex and vast than any technique he had seen in his life, and still, it turned out to be only a part of it!

"It is personally written by the Asura God himself. He spent years perfecting his blade art by combining six different types of blade intents into it. But it is a pity, mastering its true essence is not that easy, as the entire technique is the lifelong experience of the Asura God. Only someone who can understand the blade like the Asura God can master it," the old man said with some reluctance in his tone, as though he did not want this legacy to end with the Asura God's death.

Draven nodded his head in understanding and said after some thought, "Senior, I have the 'Innate Dream Walker Physique'. This helps me create dreams for myself where I can comprehend the profundities of techniques. I cannot guarantee you I will reach the perfection stage, but I will try my best."

After all, he could not simply master such a complex technique to perfection out of nowhere. So he came up with an excuse he found more plausible at this moment, telling a lie mixed with fifty percent truth.

The old man narrowed his eyes when he heard this. "Is not the Dream Walker Physique used to manifest dream worlds into reality? Since when did it have the ability to create dreams where one can practice?"

Draven's heart skipped a beat when he heard this. Of course, he had no idea about this. It seemed he still underestimated the depth of this person's knowledge.

With an honest look on his face, Draven scratched his head and said in confusion, "I do not know about what senior is saying. When I was little, my mom told me that this physique can help me enter a dream world where I can train. So I tried to create dreams for myself, and it somehow succeeded, though I am not sure how I managed to do it."

Upon hearing Draven's explanation, the old man nodded in understanding. "That is possible. A child's mind is the purest and the closest to the heavenly rules. Sometimes, such an epiphany could happen if your mind believes something like that is possible."

Draven sighed in relief when he saw the old man accept his claim at once. 'So in the future, I can use this same excuse to cover up the existence of the Dream God Ring.'

Closing his eyes, he entered the Dream God Ring and allotted 100 points to the Asura Blade Intent. This was the main loophole in the Dream God Ring. No matter how complex or simple a technique was, it only took 100 dream points to push it to perfection.

This time, when his consciousness entered the dream, Draven opened his eyes as the son of a woodchopper. He started learning woodcutting skills from his father at a very young age, and by the time he became a young man, he became fairly proficient in it.

As his life was going peacefully, one day his village was attacked by a group of bandits. His father and mother were killed, and his elder sister faced humiliation under their hands.

The young Draven, who still had a sliver of consciousness left even after being pierced by the poisonous dagger of a bandit, watched as his elder sister was taken away by the bandit leader.

Even though he was angry, he was powerless to do anything. Just then, by some coincidence, an elder of the Profound War God Academy passed by his village and saved his life.

After hearing Draven's story, he took him as a disciple and brought him to the Profound War God Academy. Fueled by his rage, even though he did not have much talent or comprehension for elemental cultivation, he turned his attention to body cultivation.

Naturally, since he started with an axe intent technique to temper his vital chi, after years of cultivation, he found himself still weak compared to the bandit leader, who had thousands of axe cultivators better than him under his command.

So he diverted his attention to practicing different techniques, hoping that mastering them would make him stronger than his enemies. Next, he practiced a sickle intent technique, followed by sword, saber, dagger, and whip sword.

Years passed. One day, Draven got news of his sister's suicide from his master. The news was like a thunderbolt from the sky, shattering his last bit of rationality. He went insane and ran away from the academy.

Even though his mind was in disarray, he still continued practicing his skills nonstop. Eating raw wild meat and fruits, practicing the rest of the time without rest, he lived for 150 years, which was quite extraordinary for a cultivator at the mortal realm.

One day, Draven felt us though his end was near and the last bit of strength in his old body was vanishing bit by bit, like an old lion too weak to hunt, he curled up inside his cave in the forest awaiting death.

Perhaps the heavens took pity on him, for he had a sudden enlightenment, and a new technique started circulating in his body, making his cultivation break through to the Ascendant Realm and bringing with it a vigorous life force like that of a young man.

His mind also became crystal clear at this moment. There was no longer any more confusion. It was as though his mind was now a tranquil lake with no visible ripples. Lifting his trembling finger, he made a slashing gesture. Suddenly, an entirely different blade intent, which had never been seen in this world, emerged from his finger and cut a stone before him in half.

This blade intent felt like an intent born from an axe, sickle, sword, saber, dagger, and a whip sword at the same time. The blade intent emanating from his finger contained all his understanding of these weapons.

"Asura Blade Intent," the frail old man wrote the name for his new technique on the ground with a tranquil expression on his face. There was no emotion visible on his face. It felt as though he had forgotten all the feelings a human should have over the years.

[Dreamer Slab: 5]

[Incomplete Asura Battle Body Forging Art (Mortal): 100/100]

[Asura Blade Intent: 100/100]

...

Draven opened his eyes with a complicated look on his face. His state of mind was completely shaken at this moment. Without a word, he sat there in meditation to bring his mind back to reality. After all, he had lived the life of someone else for more than 150 years.
