The next morning, Ren woke up in his bed.
The world still felt slightly off—his senses lagging just a bit behind—but it was far better than yesterday.
He sat up, swaying once, then pushed himself to his feet. His steps were unsteady, but he managed. Slowly, he made his way to All Might's room.
"Old man…" Ren muttered.
All Might was sprawled across the bed, completely unharmed, tangled in his blankets like a wrecked sail. No injuries. Ren had already healed him with Seraph.
Aizawa too.
Aizawa had been far worse—severe internal damage, critical condition. For anyone else, it would've taken months. For Ren, a single touch had been enough.
He left the room and dropped onto the sofa, exhaling.
"Seriously… Seraph's completely busted," Ren said with a small smile.
He raised his hand.
"Weld."
Ren summoned two Quirks.
Weld—and Chimera.
Yes. He had copied Chimera as well.
Chimera allowed him to absorb and assimilate other things into himself. It was similar to Weld, but not quite the same. Weld didn't truly merge Quirks—it welded them together. They remained separate, yet worked in perfect tandem, producing a combined effect.
But Chimera assimilated.
So what would happen if he welded Weld and Chimera together?
There was only one way to find out.
"Weld."
Pain exploded through his body.
For a brief moment, he halted his brain's regeneration—and Seraph reacted instantly through his whole body, crushing the pain into nothing.
Ren's lips curled upward.
"…Success."
Now—
"I'll use this new Quirk on itself."
The new ability still consisted of two Quirk factors. Not a true single Quirk yet.
Once again, he paused the healing process.
The sensation was violent—but short-lived.
Ren opened his eyes and looked at the result.
"…I'll name you Merge."
Satisfaction washed over him.
Keeping his brain's regeneration halted, Ren immediately began adjusting his other welded Quirks—this time, properly merging them.
The change was immediate.
Every Quirk felt smoother. Stronger. More efficient.
He tested one.
"Livewire."
Electricity surged through him.
"…It's generating power fifty percent faster."
Ren's grin widened.
Next—
Rubber Skin.
Yes, he had copied that too.
"Merge."
He fused it with Herculean Strength.
Herculean Strength had always been dangerous—tearing muscles, crushing organs, splitting skin apart. Now, Seraph could heal the damage instantly unless his heart was destroyed, but even so, it was reckless.
Better safe than sorry.
As the fusion completed, Ren felt it.
His skin hardened.
He grabbed the skin on the back of his hand and pulled.
It barely stretched.
"…Interesting."
He increased his strength.
Pulled harder.
And harder.
His skin stretched unnaturally—four centimeters becoming twenty—until it finally tore.
It regenerated instantly.
Ren hummed.
"It doesn't feel exactly like rubber," he said. "The surface still seems skin."
It was far tougher than rubber.
Some rubber properties had in fact disappeared—but the important ones remained.
Ren smiled at the realization.
And losing the others was actually a benefit. His skin didn't look distorted, his charm wouldn't suffer, and it wouldn't melt instantly against high-temperature fire Quirks.
One last thing remained.
Creation.
He had only copied it to demonstrate Copycat to his classmates—but now, an idea struck him.
If he merged Creation with Copycat…
What would happen?
"…Merge."
Agony tore through him.
This time, the pain was overwhelming.
Without this new version of Seraph, he would've ended up like last time— barely alive.
Now, he endured it.
Blood streamed from his nose, soaking into his shirt.
But then—
It stopped.
Pant…
Pant…
Ren steadied himself and reached for the TV remote.
"Copycat."
In his other hand, an identical remote appeared—perfect down to the smallest detail.
Ren laughed quietly.
Copycat had evolved.
Now, by touching an object, he could copy its molecular structure and recreate it—just like he did with Quirks.
But—
"…Using fat cells as material isn't ideal."
His body fat hovered around five percent.
"Well," Ren shrugged, "I'll just eat a lot after using it."
He released the restriction on his healing.
Seraph surged.
His brain began regenerating faster than ever.
…So merging all the Quirks composing Seraph properly made it even more broken.
At this rate, his brain would be fully healed by tomorrow.
Ren stood.
There was no time to waste.
He needed power.
He needed it as fast as possible.
He had to save his mother.
To be continued...
