Chapter 5 - Paid Simulation Results

'Truly, the saying, Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover shouldn't be taken lightly!' Adam mused to himself.

'I hope I don't drain myself too much and die because of this talent. Perhaps I should have chosen the Gun Expert and tried the High-Tech World if there is something like that.'

Adam had no room for regret as he continued reading the line of luminescent blue words.

[Year 16: You woke up in the morning and realised that your Aunt had already left. Not dwelling on it, you joyfully rushed to the Cultivation Pavilion, a place where one could receive a Cultivation Manual.]

[You picked the greatest Cultivation Scripture there, the Immortal Sutra, and began cultivating. You were dissuaded by your parents from cultivating the scripture as they only had one volume, but you were arrogant, saying you are the protagonist and you will find the scripture—it is a common trope in Chinese novels.]

[Truly, your main aim was to get stronger fast, and later on try to see if you can find the cultivation scripture. That day you finally embarked on the Path of Cultivation.]

[Year 17: You continued cultivating the Immortal Sutra for over one year, and you are already strong enough, even reaching the Third Stage of the Immortal Gathering Realm.]

[Over the past year, your Sister and a few Maids who weren't afraid of being caught had gradually fallen under the trap of the White Talent, Master Of All.]

[Year 18: You reached the Sixth Stage of the Immortal Gathering Realm, causing your Family to throw a celebratory party as this is the fastest anyone has ever cultivated.]

[That night, wrapped in the arms of your Aunt and your Sister, you were about to enjoy the bliss of the splendid night when a towering figure appeared in the Immortal Clan.]

[He called you a Heretic Cultivator and slapped you to death, killing you and your two relatives.]

[You Died!]

'Fuck! Damn, fucking bitch!' Adam couldn't help but rise to his feet, cursing loudly.

'Who the hell is that Giant and where did he come from? Why would he come and kill me for no reason? Could it be because of the speed at which I cultivated or the Cultivation Technique? Or perhaps was he jealous that I was grabbing all the beauties?'

Adam's heart was filled with anger. Just when the Simulation was going so smoothly and he was enjoying it, the mysterious figure just had to come and kill him.

He couldn't wrap his head around the reason as his mind was filled with thoughts…

After a while of displaying the information to Adam, the System finally flashed briefly and displayed a new line of words.

[Please select a reward from the following.]

[1. Your Strength in the Simulated World]

[2. White Talent: Master Of All]

[3. Knowledge Of The Ancient Immortal Realm]

[4. Immortal Sutra]

[5. Immortal Essence Stone.]

'Damn, that's quite much.' Adam drew in a sharp breath as he stared at the information in front of him, unable to come to a decision.

'I have already ruled out the White Talent, Master Of All. The Talent is too unstable, and I don't know what effects it might have in the real world—my Girlfriend might actually just end me. This is the Real World and not the Simulated World, so I can't take any risks…'

'Then there is the Immortal Essence Stone, that should be something like a Mana Stone, right? I don't think it will be useful since I don't have an Immortal Cultivation Technique.'

'Although I gained some Knowledge of the Immortal World, since it isn't my true world, I doubt the knowledge will be useful. Now the decision is left with my Strength and the Immortal Sutra.'

Adam contemplated for a long while, his mind filled with thoughts. After a long time, he finally smiled lightly as though he had realised something.

"System, I choose the Immortal Sutra!"

His voice was firm as he spoke. He could still simulate the Immortal World and gain the corresponding strength; however, there was a very rare chance of coming across the Immortal Sutra again.

'Besides, perhaps in other Simulations I can come across the remaining parts of the Immortal Sutra.'

Adam felt he had made the right decision. Although he could have chosen the first one, giving himself some measure of strength in this world, in the end it wouldn't have helped him much as it would be difficult to obtain such strength again.

'Now, by having a Cultivation Technique, I can just simulate the Ancient Immortal World, then choose the Strength option!' Adam grinned wildly at the thought.

The System accepted his request, and with a flash of white light, a hard-copy book appeared in his hand.

Adam was slightly startled, not expecting just the first part of the Immortal Sutra to be this big. He opened the book and quickly read through its contents…

Thankfully, to his surprise, it seemed that he had unconsciously retained a reward from the Simulated World—the ability to read words in the Immortal Language. Having no further worries, he completely focused his attention on the Immortal Sutra.

The room fell into silence as only the faint sound of breathing and the flapping book could be heard.

After a long while, he took a deep breath and quietly exhaled.

'How complex! To think I actually cultivated such a thing in my simulated life. No wonder I felt his progress was slow—truly, his progress was actually very fast,' Adam couldn't help but exclaim internally.

At the same time, his passive White Talent, Genius, began bringing all sorts of ideas to his mind.

'What if I can use Mana in place of Immortal Essence to cultivate it? Perhaps I can study the Cultivation Technique Aurora gave me and compare their contents, then come up with a Cultivation Technique tailored completely to myself.'

Although he had the thought, Adam felt he couldn't completely process it.

'It seems only by having a Red Talent will I be able to instantly comprehend such facts I'm making and make the technique worthwhile.'

With that thought, Adam placed the thick stack of books not too far away. Since the language was in the Immortal Tongue, Aurora wouldn't understand it, so he wasn't worried.

He stretched a little bit. "Time to go outside to the Awakeners Association and get my Licence. A day has passed; I can't delay any longer."

With that decision, Adam took a quick shower, then dressed lightly and strode out of the building casually, hailing a taxi after walking a few meters.

"To the Awakeners Association…"
