Feng Wuji and Su Mei had gone north towards the home of the Verdant Jade Demonic Serpents. These serpents inner core were useful tonics and could assist in cultivation, however the serpents were very dangerous and he couldn't handle them at this stage of cultivation.
They were walking through a very dangerous path, and in front of them were various trees.
"Feng Wuji, let's stop for a while," Su Mei said as she crouched on a rock beside a tree in the forest. She had sweat all over her body and was panting heavily.
"Why? Stopping here is foolish. We are in the middle of a dangerous part of this forest," Feng Wuji said. His clothes were also soaked with sweat, but he continued walking forward.
Su Mei, seeing that Feng Wuji wasn't stopping, quickly screamed, "Wait, wait! It'll just be for a minute; I need to catch my breath." As she said this, she reached for her storage ring to withdraw a water bottle and quickly downed it.
Feng Wuji thought about it for a while. "Indeed, it is stupid to continue walking in this condition. Let's rest for a while." He walked back to her position and sat on the rock. He consumed some potions to replenish his energy and then ate some light food.
During this time, Feng Wuji and Su Mei didn't exchange any words, although Su Mei would occasionally glance at Feng Wuji with a gaze that carried a hidden meaning.
"Why do you know this forest so well?" she asked suddenly, her eyes fixated on Feng Wuji and filled with curiosity.
Feng Wuji looked at her, and she met his gaze unblinkingly. He set his meal, which was some fruits, aside. "Why?"
"It's just that you seem to know the right way and path around here. You've avoided dangerous spots that even I couldn't notice," Su Mei said, her eyes darting around the trees.
"Well, I have a map."
"A map?"
"Yes, a map to help me navigate the forest. And although it's not very good since this secret realm has been left unexplored for a long while, it is still better than not having anything."
Su mei looked at Feng wuji and her eyes roamed his body searching for the map
"Where is it??"
Feng wuji observed her movement he wanted to laugh at the way she was brazenly staring at him but he kept it in
"It's not physical,it's attached to my storage ring so that it doesn't get lost or spoiled"
She then looked at his ring and sighed"You're right. I should also have taken mine. I assumed they would be useless since they aren't new."
Feng Wuji didn't say anything else. He just continued eating and trying to gather enough energy for their journey.
Far away in the forest was a boy of Feng wuji's age. He wore a dark robe and was walking towards Feng Wuji's position. He held a medallion that had floating symbols on it.
The symbols were in the form of an arrow, and it pointed towards Feng Wuji's position. His eyes were dark and blazing with hatred as he walked towards the direction the arrow of the medallion was pointing.
'I'm coming. I'll destroy you before you have the chance to awaken it.'
Back at the rock, Feng Wuji and Su Mei were in a conversation.
"So, where are we now?" she asked, her eyes twinkling. Her legs and arms were folded; she was cultivating to recover energy but trying to pass time with Feng Wuji.
"We're north of the Dark Gold Demonic Bats and east of the home of the Drucuria."
Su Mei's eyes widened. "The Drucuria?"
"Yes. But right now, we're at the territory of the Verdant Jade Demonic Serpents, a special species of snakes who have green, shiny scales made of jade that shine and have precious value."
"Ohh, do they have a circle symbol on their heads too?" she asked him, but her eyes were fixated on a spot in the grass just in front of them.
"Yes. You know about them?" Feng Wuji asked. He was surprised, since she didn't seem to know anything about the forest.
"Nope."
"Then how do you know about their symbols?"
"Because there's one right there."
"What?!!"
Su Mei unfolded her arms and pointed to the spot she was gazing upon. "There."
Feng Wuji followed her direction and saw it.
On the patch of emerald grass was a serpent coiled around itself. Its jade scales shimmered from the dappled sunlight that filtered through the forest canopy. It was asleep, coiled around itself, and it was HUGE!!
Feng Wuji's face, which was usually very calm, suddenly tensed. He quickly put down his food and stood up, putting a finger over his lips, telling Su Mei to keep quiet. He quickly jumped down from the rock and motioned for Su Mei to follow him. She also stood up and mimicked his actions, seeing that his eyes were strained and he seemed tense.
He quickly sped away using a movement technique that made his steps silent. Su Mei also ran, and they were running in the opposite direction. Su Mei's legs were like air as they touched the ground without making any noise.
"Sssssssssshhhh!"
A voice cut through the air. It was coming from below Su Mei's feet. Feng Wuji and Su Mei both looked down at the same time and saw a small snake that bore great resemblance to the one they had seen earlier. It seemed that when they were running, Su Mei had stepped on it.
Their faces suddenly paled as they heard sounds coming from the direction they were fleeing from. They looked back and they saw it.
An eight-meter snake was gracefully speeding towards them. Its eyes were full of primal fury, and it hissed menacingly.
"Sssssss!"
Feng Wuji and Su Mei both looked at each other and said at the same time, "We're fucked!!"
In another path of the realm, many people were gathered. They were from the Long, Xiang, and Wei clans. There were eight of them: five boys and three girls. Both the Wei and Long clans had three persons, while the Xiang clan only had two members.
"Is this the location?" one of the Xiang clan members said, his eyes glistening with curiosity.
"No, but we're close," Wei Zhang, the one who seemed to be in charge, said. He was the son of the leader of the Wei Clan, one of the Four Major Clans, and was a genius of the highest caliber.
"Ohhh, so we're going to finally find it after all these years?" said Xiang Ning one of the female members of the group. She wore a pink robe with depictions of spiders and her eyes sparkled with an emotion that was hard to tell.
On hearing her words all the members of the group's eyes sparkled, some with greed, hope, and ambition.
They approached a stream, and there they saw it.
