After the reveal, the discussion naturally shifted towards him.
[Shadow Monarch: So we have an omniscient angel in the group. That's both useful and terrifying.]
[Flash Goddess: Indeed. Though I suppose if he wanted to harm us, he wouldn't need to be subtle about it.]
Yoruichi leaned back in her chair, a cat lounging beside her. This Heaven's Wrath character was fascinating. Omniscience wasn't something you encountered every day, even in Soul Society.
And the casual way he wielded it, exposing secrets but not exploiting them—suggested either genuine benevolence or a very long game.
She wasn't sure which yet.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Okay but can we talk about how INSANE this is?! Heaven's Wrath has OMNISCIENCE! That's like top-tier god powers!]
[Heaven's Wrath: It's not as impressive as you think. I can't see everything in the Omniverse. I can't predict every choice. And knowing things doesn't mean I can fix them.]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: But you can see our pasts. Our presents. Some of our futures.]
Robin sat in the Going Merry's library, her usual reading interrupted by this strange blue screen. An omniscient being.
In her experience, those with absolute power rarely used it benevolently. Yet Heaven's Wrath had revealed Klein's deception not to humiliate, but to protect. That was... unusual.
[Heaven's Wrath: somewhat.]
[Last Master of Humanity: That must be overwhelming...]
Ritsuka typed from her room in Chaldea, her hands still shaking slightly from the day's rayshift. She couldn't imagine knowing everyone's pain, everyone's suffering, and being unable to fix it all. That sounded like a special kind of torture.
[Heaven's Wrath: Sometimes. But it's also lonely. Knowing things others don't creates a certain distance.]
[The Fool: I can imagine.]
Klein stared at his screen. The panic from being exposed had faded into something else. Understanding, maybe.
Heaven's Wrath knew everything about him. every secret, and hadn't weaponized it. That was worth something.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Wait! Wait wait wait! Heaven's Wrath-san! You said before you fought two dragons! What dragons?! Were they powerful?!]
Kazuma had been dying to ask this questio. This was important information!
[Heaven's Wrath: They were supposed to be two of the beings that are basically around top 5 strongest creatures in my world. They are called Ddraig and Albion.]
Kazuma's brain completely short-circuited.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: I'm sorry, WHAT?]
[Heaven's Wrath: The Red Dragon Emperor and the White Dragon Emperor. Ddraig and Albion. That's what they are generally known as.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: DDRAIG AND ALBION?!?! THE HEAVENLY DRAGONS?!?!]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: THE TWO DRAGON EMPERORS WHO FIGHT GODS AND DESTROY COUNTRIES AS COLLATERAL DAMAGE?!?!]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: THOSE FUCKING DRAGONS?!?!?!]
[Flash Goddess: My, such language. I take it these dragons are significant?]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: The Admin's reaction suggests they're quite powerful.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Powerful?! THEY'RE ONLY THE MOST BROKEN ENTITIES IN THE DXD UNIVERSE! THEY'VE BEEN FIGHTING EACH OTHER SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME!
THEIR BATTLES RESHAPE CONTINENTS! GODS AVOID THEM! SATAN-CLASS BEINGS RUN AWAY!]
[Shadow Monarch: Dragon emperors. That does sound formidable.]
Sung Jin-Woo sat in his room, staring at the screen with narrowed eyes. Dragon emperors. Beings that gods avoided. And this angel had killed both of them. That level of power was... concerning. Useful if Heaven's Wrath remained an ally. Catastrophic if he became an enemy.
[Last Master of Humanity: You fought two of them? At the same time?]
[Heaven's Wrath: Yes. They killed my siblings during one of their battles. Collateral damage. So I hunted them down and killed them both.]
[The Fool: ...]
[The Fool: You killed two dragon emperors. To avenge your siblings.]
[Heaven's Wrath: Yes.]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: That's... I'm sorry for your loss.]
Robin understood loss. Understood the hollow ache of losing family.
[Flash Goddess: Revenge for family. A powerful motivator.]
[Shadow Monarch: I understand that. Some debts can only be paid in blood.]
Sung Jin-Woo sighed and leaned back. He would probably react the same way if someone killed his family. If someone hurt Jinah—
His thoughts were interrupted by a muffled voice from outside his door.
"Hey there STEPBRO, what are you doing in there?"
Jin-Woo's eye twitched violently.
"Fuck my life," he muttered under his breath, making absolutely sure his microphone was off. "I can't let them know about this. Ever."
The system's latest "quest" had been particularly ridiculous. Something about "Step Sister Route" with his sister. The implications made him want to strangle whoever designed this cursed system.
He focused back on the chat, deliberately ignoring the voice outside that was breathing heavily.
[Heaven's Wrath: Yes. Though I'm not sure revenge brought me the closure I expected.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: WAIT WAIT WAIT. Ddraig and Albion. Heaven's Wrath. An angel with Michael as his brother. Someone who can kill the Heavenly Dragons. OH MY GOD.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: YOU'RE FROM HIGH SCHOOL DXD AREN'T YOU?!]
[Heaven's Wrath: I guess you can say it like that.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: I CAN'T BREATHE]
Kazuma was having a near religious experience. DxD. He was talking to someone from HIGH SCHOOL DXD. The world with Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima and Koneko and—
His heart was racing. His hands were shaking. This was the greatest moment of his life.
[Flash Goddess: The Admin appears to be malfunctioning.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: HEAVEN'S WRATH-SAMA!!!]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: PLEASE! I'M BEGGING YOU!]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: LET ME SWITCH PLACES WITH YOU!]
[Heaven's Wrath: ...Why would you want to switch places? This world is quite dangerous and rarher weird for a normal guy.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Because DxD is amazing! The world is huge... No incredible! The lore is so bouncy... Ehem... Deep! The complex and several sizes... World building! AND THE MYTHOLOGY IS FASCINATING!]
[Heaven's Wrath: It has an entire cast of attractive female characters with generous proportions and a harem protagonist. I guess that has nothing to do with your...Motivations?]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...THAT'S ALSO A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR BUT IT'S NOT THE ONLY REASON—]
[Heaven's Wrath: You want to live in a world where you can build a harem of supernaturally beautiful women. And since girls here lack any self esteem or brain, you figured you could achieve that dream.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: I PLEAD THE FIFTH!]
[Heaven's Wrath: We're not in America, Kazuma.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: CULTURAL REASONS! IT'S FOR CULTURAL REASONS!]
[Flash Goddess: Ara ara~ The Admin's true motivations are quite transparent.]
Yoruichi couldn't help but laugh. This Kazuma character was refreshingly honest in his dishonesty. Most men pretended their interests were more sophisticated. At least he was entertaining about it.
[Shadow Monarch: Disgusting.]
Not that he would say he was in a worse situation, being tasked with hooking up with his...
He shuddered. Maybe The angel dude can help?
[The Fool: This explains the "Advocate of Gender Equality" title. It's deeply ironic.]
Klein had recovered enough from his own embarrassment to enjoy someone else's. This Kazuma seemed like a decent person despite his... questionable priorities.
[Girl Who Loves Reading: I see. The Admin wishes to objectify supernatural women rather than human women. How progressive.]
Robin's tone was dry even through text. She'd dealt with plenty of men like this in her travels. Though most weren't quite so blatant about it.
[Last Master of Humanity: Um...]
Ritsuka had no idea how to respond to this conversation. She decided silence was the better option.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: YOU'RE ALL GANGING UP ON ME!]
[Heaven's Wrath: You made it too easy.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: TRAITOR! I thought we had something special!]
[Heaven's Wrath: We do. A beautiful friendship based on me mocking your poor life choices.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!]
[Heaven's Wrath: No you don't.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ...]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: No I don't. But I'm still mad!]
[Shadow Monarch: This is too pathetic to watch.]
[The Fool: I'm actually grateful the attention shifted away from my embarrassment.]
[Flash Goddess: Oh don't worry, Klein-kun. We haven't forgotten about your mystical seer act.]
[The Fool: ...]
[The Fool: I hate this group already.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: ONE OF US! ONE OF US!]
Kokabiel leaned back against the floating rock, a genuine smile crossing his face. The chat continued—more teasing, more questions about DxD, Kazuma desperately trying to defend his "cultural appreciation," Klein slowly relaxing as the group moved past his deception.
They were chaotic. Messy. Full of secrets and trauma.
But there was something genuine here. Real connection forming despite or perhaps because of the exposed vulnerabilities.
Klein was inexperienced but had incredible potential. The gray fog he could access was no small thing. With time and proper guidance, he'd become formidable.
Kazuma was ridiculous but genuinely meant well. His meta-knowledge would be invaluable, even if his motivations were questionable.
Jin-Woo was paranoid but fair. He'd been hurt, used, betrayed by systems and gods. His caution was earned. But beneath that suspicion was someone who'd protect what mattered to him with everything he had. Not to mention this version had a rather...weird plot?
Robin was cautious but not hostile. She understood loss, understood betrayal. She'd learned to survive by being smarter than everyone else. That analytical mind would serve them well.
Yoruichi was playful but perceptive. She hid her intelligence and strength behind teasing and humor, but she was watching everything, analyzing everyone. Strengtg wrapped in casual charm.
Ritsuka was kind despite everything she'd endured. She'd saved humanity through gacha hell and impossible odds. That compassion in the face of apocalypse was rare. Precious.
And him? A broken angel with omniscience and blood on his hands, pretending he was okay while the void inside him slowly filled with something that might have been hope
This might actually work.
He smiled and typed.
[Heaven's Wrath: Anyway, I have to go now. I have to tie up loose ends. We're in the middle of a great war now. So I have to participate even if I don't wish to.]
The chat exploded immediately.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: WAIT WHAT?! A WAR?!]
[Shadow Monarch: What kind of war?]
[Flash Goddess: How serious is this conflict?]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: Are you in danger?]
[Last Master of Humanity: Do you need help?! We can come help!]
[The Fool: I don't know how much use I'd be, but if you need assistance...]
Kokabiel felt a small smile forming on his face. They barely knew him. He'd just exposed Klein's secrets and admitted to omniscience, something that should terrify them, and they were offering to help.
[Heaven's Wrath: I appreciate the concern. The war is between Heaven, the Fallen Angels, and the Devils. It's been going on for a while now. We just lost six archangels to the dragon fight, which is a significant blow to our forces.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Oh god. You're in the middle of the Great War. The one that kills the Biblical God.]
There was a pause.
[Heaven's Wrath: Yes. Though I'm hoping to change how some things unfold.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: you're a transmigrator like me and Klein, aren't you?]
Everyone paused at that.
Kokabiel sighed.
[Heaven's Wrath: Yes. But my situation is rather different from yours.]
[Shadow Monarch: Can we help? You said we can travel to each other's worlds for missions.]
[Heaven's Wrath: Not yet. This isn't a system mission, just my world's natural progression. Besides, this war is on a scale that would be dangerous even for all of you.
Satan-class beings, god-class entities, armies of devils and fallen angels. It's not something to walk into casually.]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: But you'll be fighting in it.]
[Heaven's Wrath: I don't have much choice. I'm one of Heaven's strongest now. They need me.]
[Flash Goddess: Then at least be careful, Heaven's Wrath-san. We've only just met. It would be disappointing to lose a group member so quickly.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Yeah! You can't die! Who else is going to mock my life choices?!]
[The Fool: I'm sure we could manage, but it wouldn't be the same.]
[Last Master of Humanity: Please stay safe! And if you need help, just ask!]
[Heaven's Wrath: I will. Actually, the system has a streaming function. If I can figure out how to use it, I'll try to show you all what's happening. Might be educational.]
[Shadow Monarch: A live view of a war between gods and devils. That would be valuable intelligence.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: THAT SOUNDS AWESOME! Wait, no, I mean, please be safe but also YES I WANT TO SEE THIS!]
[Heaven's Wrath: I'll see what I can do. For now, I need to go. There's much to prepare.]
[Flash Goddess: Until next time, then.]
[Girl Who Loves Reading: Good luck.]
[The Fool: Don't die.]
[Shadow Monarch: Survive.]
[Last Master of Humanity: We'll be cheering for you!]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: KICK THEIR ASSES! Except the hotties!]
[Heaven's Wrath: I'll try. And you guys can just call by my name. Kokabiel, the angel of stars.]
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Wait a god damn minute! You transmigrated as the first lame boss that gets beaten up! Wait, if you are so strong, oh fuck! Poor Issei will get rekt!
Ehem, is there a chance I could take over after you wreck him Kokabiel sama? I'll be polite and only limit myself to a peerage of...hehehe.]
Kokabiel shook his head.
[ Heaven's Wrath: the devils might not even exist if I lose control. Anyways, goodbye for now.]
Kazuma's desperate message came immediately.
[Advocate of Gender Equality: Wait, can I still get an invite to your world for a educational trip....]
Kokabiel closed the chat interface and sighed heavily. The warm feeling faded, replaced by the cold weight of reality.
He spread his twelve wings and launched himself toward Heaven.
Even before he reached the golden gates, he could feel it, the shift in atmosphere. The change in how reality itself bent around him now.
Word was spreading across the world like wildfire.
The Archangel Kokabiel, Heaven's Wrath, has slain the twin Dragon Emperors by himself.
In Asgard, Odin was calling emergency meetings. In Olympus, Zeus was raging about angels becoming too powerful. In Swarga, Indra was reassessing Heaven's military strength. In Egypt, Ra was marking Heaven as a faction to approach carefully.
Everyone knew. Everyone was reacting. The balance of power had shifted, and the supernatural world was scrambling to adjust.
When he reached Heaven's gates, the mood was immediately apparent.
The angels were preparing for a funeral.
Not just any funeral. A mass funeral for six archangels. Aniel. Raziel. Tsadkiel. Uriel. Kamael. Kabiel.
Six of his siblings. Six lights extinguished from Heaven's host.
The angels worked in somber silence, preparing the ceremonial grounds. White flowers, Heaven's own unique blooms that glowed faintly with divine light, were being arranged in elaborate patterns.
Six pyres were being constructed from sacred wood that burned with holy fire.
He landed softly near the entrance. Immediately, every angel in the vicinity stopped what they were doing.
They stared in awe and reverence.
Then, one by one, they began to bow.
Not the casual acknowledgment of a fellow angel. Deep, reverent bows. The kind reserved for the Seraphs. For beings of immense power and importance.
"Heaven's Wrath," someone whispered.
"He killed the Dragon Emperors," another murmured.
"Both of them. Alone."
"Ddraig and Albion. Gone. Because of him."
"He avenged our fallen siblings by himself!"
Kokabiel felt uncomfortable under their reverent gazes. This wasn't what he wanted. He'd killed the dragons for personal vengeance, not for glory.
He nodded at them curtly and walked toward where the funeral preparations were underway.
"Lord Kokabiel!" A younger angel—four wings, barely a century old, rushed over. "Please, you shouldn't be helping with the preparations! You're Heaven's strongest Angel now! This is beneath—"
"Nothing is beneath me when it comes to honoring my siblings," Kokabiel said quietly, picking up white flowers and beginning to arrange them. "I'll help whether you want me to or not."
The young angel looked conflicted but eventually nodded and backed away. Other noted it with respect. How despite someone as strong as him didn't care about getting his hands dirty for the sake of his kin.
Kokabiel worked in silence, his hands moving through familiar motions. He'd helped prepare funerals before. Too many funerals. War claimed angels regularly, and someone had to lay them to rest.
But six archangels at once? That was devastating. That was a blow Heaven might not recover from.
"You don't have to do this."
Michael's voice came from the side. Kokabiel turned to see his older brother approaching.
The Seraph looked tired, which was rare for beings of their level. The weight of command sat heavy on Michael's shoulders.
"Neither do you," Kokabiel replied. "Yet here we are."
Michael smiled faintly and picked up flowers, working alongside him.
For a while, they arranged the funeral preparations in comfortable silence. Two brothers, preparing to say goodbye to six others.
"The world is afraid of you now," Michael said eventually. "Every pantheon, every faction. They felt your transformation. Felt the power you unleashed. Zeus is paranoid. Odin is cautious. Indra is calculating. They all want to know who you are and whether you're a threat."
"Am I?" Kokabiel asked. "A threat?"
Michael considered the question seriously. "To enemies of Heaven? Absolutely. To innocent people? No. You've always had control, even when drowning in rage. That's why Father trusts you."
"Father trusts everyone until they Fall."
"No," Michael corrected gently. "Father knows everyone's heart. He trusts those who are trustworthy. And your heart, little brother, is still pure. Broken, perhaps. Grieving. But pure. Me and our siblings all trust you as well."
Kokabiel didn't respond to that. Couldn't respond. Because he wasn't sure it was true anymore.
They worked together until the preparations were complete. Other angels joined them.
Gabriel with tears streaming down her face, Raphael moving with mechanical precision to hide his grief, Metatron recording everything for Heaven's archives with shaking hands.
The funeral was held as the sun set, or what passed for sunset in Heaven, where the light never truly faded but shifted into softer tones.
All of Heaven's remaining forces gathered. Thousands of angels, from the newest two-winged messengers to the ancient Seraphs who'd existed since Creation.
Yahweh himself appeared at the front, his presence making reality bend and shimmer.
The Biblical God rarely took physical form, preferring to work through His angels and His systems. But for this, He manifested.
He looked... sad. Genuinely, deeply sad.
"My children," Yahweh's voice resonated through every angel present. Not loud, but impossible to ignore.
"Today we gather to mourn six of your siblings. Six lights extinguished from our Host. Aniel, who brought joy and laughter even in darkness.
Raziel, who sought mysteries and knowledge. Tsadkiel, who embodied justice with every breath.
Uriel, who guided with wisdom and terrible puns."
A few angels laughed wetly at that. Uriel's puns had been legendary.. legendarily awful.
"Kamael, who pushed us all to be stronger, better versions of ourselves.
And Kabiel, who stood firm as a pillar of strength for any who needed it. They died in a senseless battle that had nothing to do with them. "
Yahweh paused, looking across the assembled angels.
"Their killer has been brought to justice. Kokabiel, your brother, whom you now call Heaven's Wrath, avenged them. Ended the eternal conflict between the Dragon Emperors.
But vengeance does not erase loss. All we can do is remember. Honor. And carry forward the light they brought to our existence."
The pyres were lit. Holy fire consumed the bodies. Not destructive fire, but transformative. Returning their physical forms to pure light that rose into Heaven's eternal sky.
Kokabiel watched six lights ascend. Six siblings who'd been alive just days ago. Who'd laughed with him, trained with him, lived with him for millennia.
Gone forever.
He felt hollow. The revenge should have filled this emptiness. Should have provided closure. But it didn't. They were still gone. And no amount of dragon blood could change that.
After the lights faded, Yahweh spoke again.
"Before I depart on a necessary journey, there are matters to address. This war has cost us dearly. We've lost too much. But it will end soon. I promise you all, this conflict will reach its conclusion."
He turned to face Kokabiel directly.
"Kokabiel. Step forward."
Kokabiel moved through the crowd of angels, who parted before him like water. He stood before Yahweh.
Yahweh placed a hand on his head. The touch was warm. Gentle. Everything divine should be.
"You have proven yourself beyond question. You have achieved power that no angel in history have reached. You embody righteous wrath against those who would harm the innocent.
From this day forward, your title is no longer merely 'Angel of Stars.' You are Heaven's Wrath. The consequence for those who would destroy what we protect."
Light poured from Yahweh's hand, settling into Kokabiel's being like a brand. Not painful, but heavy. The weight of official recognition. Of responsibility.
"In my absence, you will lead Heaven."
The entire Host gasped.
Kokabiel's head snapped up. "What?"
"Michael will command our armies," Yahweh continued as if he hadn't heard the objection. "But you will guide Heaven itself. Make the decisions that must be made. Protect our people. Use that omniscience I sense you've acquired. Use that power you've earned. Be what Heaven needs you to be."
"I'm not ready...I can't—
"You can. And you will." Yahweh's smile was sad. Knowing. "I go now to seal Trihexa. The Beast of Apocalypse must be contained before the final battle. This will weaken me significantly. But it's necessary."
Only Kokabiel and Yahweh knew the full truth. After sealing Trihexa, Yahweh would be vulnerable. Weakened. And in that weakness, Lucifer would strike the killing blow.
The Biblical God would die. Then Lucifer and the satans. The Great War would end. And everything would change.
Yahweh looked directly into Kokabiel's eyes, and Kokabiel saw understanding there. Acceptance.
You know how this ends, the look said. You've seen it. And you're going to let it happen.
I don't have a choice as You are stubborn, Kokabiel's return look conveyed.
Yahweh smiled and nodded slightly. The meaning was clear.
Let fate unfold as it must. Some things cannot be changed without destroying what comes after.
"Go with grace, my son," Yahweh said aloud. "All of you. End this war. Bring peace. And remember—even when I am gone, I remain with you always."
He vanished.
The Host stood in stunned silence.
Then, slowly, they turned to look at Kokabiel.
Heaven's Wrath. Left in charge while God himself went to battle.
Michael approached and placed a hand on Kokabiel's shoulder. "Well, little brother. Looks like you're in charge now."
"I don't want to be in charge."
"Neither did I," Michael said with a wry smile. "But here we are. Come on. We have a war to plan. And I have a feeling things are about to get very complicated very quickly."
Kokabiel looked up at Heaven's eternal sky. Saw the lights from the funeral still fading. Felt the weight of his new title settling onto his shoulders like chains.
Heaven's Wrath. Leader of Heaven in God's absence.
The angel who would watch god die and do nothing to stop it.
He closed his eyes and sent one final thought to his siblings' ascending lights.
I avenged you. I hope that means something.
Then he turned and followed Michael toward the war council chambers.
There was work to be done. And a future that couldn't be changed, no matter how much omniscience he possessed.
Some fates were inevitable.
Even for angels.
