Chapter 103: Enel's Shock

Marine Headquarters - Marineford

For two days, the journey back was leisurely. Roy and the group stopped occasionally to wipe out a few small-time pirate crews with bounties in the tens of millions, treating it as practice for Ace, Luffy, Zoro, Kuina, and Law. It was also a chance to show Enel what "daily life in the Blue Sea" looked like.

Of course, Enel spent the entire trip tied up in the brig, rolling his eyes and nursing a headache from the screaming pirates echoing through his Mantra.

Upon returning to port, Roy left Law to handle the tedious paperwork of docking and prisoner transfer. He took the rest of the group—Luffy, Ace, Zoro, Kuina, and a resigned Enel, now free of his Seastone cuffs—and warped directly to the training grounds.

"FWOOSH—!"

They appeared in the center of the massive training field, surrounded by the towering fortress of Marine Headquarters, giant warships, and various training equipment.

The moment he landed, Enel instinctively spread his "Mantra" (Observation Haki) to scan his surroundings—

"Th... This is...?!"

Electric sparks shot from his eyes as his pupils contracted in shock.

In his perception, Marineford was like a nest of monsters. Countless powerful auras surged like the sea, and among them were five presences whose pressure was no less than Roy's!

"The world below the clouds... has this many monsters?!"

Enel was shaken to his core, cold sweat beading on his forehead. His arrogant delusion of being "God" was shattered into lightning dust.

While Enel was frozen, a purple-haired, muscular old man on the side of the field was yelling at dozens of recruits. "Center your weight! Root your feet! You are Marines, not chickens raised in a coop!!"

Hearing the familiar booming voice, Luffy jumped up. "Instructor Zephyr!!"

Zephyr didn't turn around, his laugh echoing like thunder. "Brat, finally decided to come back? Looks like you had a fruitful trip."

Roy grinned, shoving Enel forward. "Instructor, Ace and the others did great!"

"Look, we even packed up a Rumble-Rumble Fruit user for you! He likes to call himself 'God,' so he needs a bit more of your... special education~"

Zephyr spun around, his sharp gaze piercing Enel like a blade!

"The Rumble-Rumble Fruit?!"

"And he calls himself 'God'?"

In that instant, Enel instinctively took a half-step back, every hair on his body standing on end. "This old man... is another monster-level existence!"

Zephyr looked him up and down, snorting. "The Rumble-Rumble Fruit... that is rare indeed."

"But, Lightning-Boy, that look in your eyes... looks like you haven't been beaten enough yet, huh?"

Enel's mouth twitched. He was about to retort, but his Mantra screamed a warning!

He saw a vision of himself being double-teamed and beaten senseless on a live broadcast if he spoke. He shuddered and swallowed his words.

Luffy bounced over. "Instructor Zephyr! Sky Island was super fun! We beat up a guy who called himself 'God'!"

Zephyr raised an eyebrow. "Oh? That's this guy next to you, right?"

Ace shrugged. "He was pretty cocky at first, but after Big Bro Roy 'educated' him, he resigned himself to his fate."

Zoro added seriously, "He's strong, though. If Kuina and I fought him, our odds wouldn't be good."

Kuina nodded. "Especially his speed. He can turn into lightning instantly. Very tricky."

Zephyr grinned, his interest piqued. "Interesting! Roy, leave this kid to me. I happen to be in need of some 'teaching material.'"

Roy smiled pleasantly. "Then I'll leave him in your hands, Instructor~"

Enel felt a chill run down his spine. "Teaching... material?!"

"Don't be nervous. My classes are only slightly violent." Zephyr clapped a hand on Enel's shoulder, his knuckles cracking.

"Your profession is now changing from 'God' to 'Probationary Marine Recruit.' Any problems?"

"No problem! None at all!" Enel answered instantly, his mouth twitching.

"Good. You have the potential to be a Marine!" Zephyr nodded in satisfaction.

Enel looked dead inside. "This place... is full of monsters..."

The group burst into laughter.

Marineford - Fleet Admiral's Office

The heavy wooden door creaked open, and Roy walked in.

Inside, Sengoku was buried under a mountain of paperwork, his pen flying.

On the sofa, Garp was relaxing, munching loudly on a bag of "Sengoku's Private Stash" rice crackers.

"Yo, brat, you're back?" Garp laughed, waving a cracker. "Want a bite?"

"Don't mind if I do." Roy grabbed a handful. "Mmm... tastes better when it's stolen."

Sengoku looked up, pushing up his glasses. "Garp, are you raiding my drawers again?!"

"What do you mean 'again'? I'm just checking the expiration dates for you."

Sengoku rolled his eyes and turned to Roy. "I've read your report on the Sky Island training. Good work!"

His expression then turned serious. "But tell me more about this 'extra harvest' you mentioned."

Roy smiled, pulling out a file and placing it on the desk. "Logia-type. Rumble-Rumble Fruit user, Enel. Former 'God' of Skypiea."

"He possesses Observation Haki—'Mantra'—that covers the entire island. He has ultra-wide range sensing and precision striking capabilities. High fruit mastery, extreme destructive power."

"What?!" Sengoku shot up, nearly knocking over his chair. "The Rumble-Rumble Fruit?! That's one of the top-tier Logias!"

"Observation Haki covering an entire island?" Garp stopped chewing. "In the New World, he'd know if a ship was within a hundred miles!"

Roy shrugged. "It's the real deal. But his worldview was twisted—full of 'God' and 'Judgment' nonsense. After I beat him up, he got a lot more honest. I've handed him over to Zephyr for 'advanced studies.'"

Sengoku looked grave. "You know, Roy... a user of that caliber... if he loses control—the consequences could be unthinkable."

Roy nodded seriously. "I know. That's why I'll personally oversee his reformation until he drops the god complex! Instructor Zephyr is also very interested."

Sengoku finally sat down, sighing. "Fine! You have full authority over him."

"But if he shows any sign of betrayal—"

"I'll eliminate him immediately," Roy said without hesitation.

Garp slapped Roy on the back, laughing like a maniac. "Well done, kid! kidnapping a top-tier Logia user... you've really made the Navy look good!"

He crunched the last cracker. "I bet Sakazuki (Akainu) is going to be excited when he sees the report! He'll want to grab that combat power for his reserves!"

Sengoku rubbed his temples. "I'm already preparing the script for when he slams my desk tomorrow."

"It's fine, I'll handle him," Roy laughed. "I've got some free time. I'll help you finish off some crackers, too."

"Get out, both of you!" Sengoku grabbed a file to throw at them.

Marineford - Back Mountains - Evening

The wind blew, and the clouds turned fiery red.

In a clearing, a green-haired figure stood still, his gaze sharp as a knife, staring at a man lounging on a deck chair nearby.

"Admiral Kizaru (Borsalino)," Zoro said, his voice low.

Kizaru's sunglasses slid down his nose slightly. One eye opened.

"Please teach me swordsmanship!" Zoro said, his voice like iron.

Kizaru yawned lazily. "Ooh~ so scary~ Young people have so much energy..."

"I'm on vacation today~"

Zoro didn't move. "Big Bro Roy said you have a sword of light called Ama no Murakumo."

Kizaru raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You want to learn that?"

Zoro narrowed his eyes. "He said that even though you're a 'professional slacker,' your sword speed is terrifying."

Kizaru's mouth twitched. "Tsk. That kid has a loose mouth..."

Zoro drew his two swords, his aura surging like a tide. "I want to know... how to cut light with a sword!"

The air seemed to freeze.

Kizaru finally sat up, dropping his lazy demeanor, looking seriously at the boy.

"Interesting..."

He stood up, his coat flapping.

"You're the first one to make me work overtime, brat~"

"VMMMM—!"

His body turned into a blinding beam of light and vanished.

"Keep up~" His lazy voice drifted from the distance.

Zoro grinned, stomping the ground, and shot forward!

Deep in the Mountains - Kendo Training Ground

On the edge of a cliff, the wind howled.

Kizaru stood at the edge, a brilliant sword of light forming in his hand, blazing like a star.

"The Ama no Murakumo," he said softly, "is an extension of light, and my slash."

He swung casually. A hundred meters away, three massive boulders were sliced cleanly in half, the cuts smooth as mirrors. No shockwave, just light.

Zoro's pupils shrank. No swing motion, no trajectory!

"You know, brat," Kizaru said, walking closer, "Light doesn't wait, and it doesn't regret. To cut it, first you have to see it."

The next second, he appeared behind Zoro, the light sword against Zoro's back.

"What is the essence of Observation Haki?" he asked flatly.

"Predicting... the future," Zoro whispered, sweat dripping.

"Mmm~ half right." Kizaru smiled, his tone colder. "More accurately, it is sensing 'possibility.'"

The light exploded, the sword slashing down!

"BOOM!!"

Zoro reacted on instinct, turning and blocking with Sandai Kitetsu. His arm went numb instantly!

"Good reaction~" Kizaru's voice now came from all directions, sharp and mocking.

In the air above—

Dozens of light swords appeared, shining with destruction.

"Try it, brat~" Kizaru laughed lazily, appearing high above.

"See if you can survive a light-speed slash."

Zoro gripped his hilts, a rare fire in his eyes.

"Three-Sword Style..." he growled. "I will not die... before I get that sword!!"

Light and shadow clashed!

And so, Zoro's path to "cutting light" began!
