Chapter 124: The Brothers Meet
Dawn Island - The Coastline
Azure waves crashed against the golden sand. The air was filled with the warm, salty scent of the sea and sun.
Three figures suddenly appeared on the shore.
"Hmm?"
As soon as he landed, Roy frowned slightly, looking past the trees toward his parents' home in the distance.
A moment later, his lips curled into an amused smile.
Ace, sharp as ever, noticed the change. "What's up, Big Bro Roy?"
Luffy's eyes were already sparkling, his nose twitching. "Is it Grandpa and Grandma making a feast again?!"
Roy didn't answer directly. He just smiled mysteriously. "Let's go. It looks like we have guests."
"Guests?" Ace and Luffy exchanged confused looks.
Roy didn't say another word, stepping onto the forest path. Ace crossed his arms and followed, while Luffy jogged after them, muttering, "It's definitely something delicious."
Dawn Island - Rook and Erin's Courtyard
Evening light bathed the old house in gold. Smoke curled from the chimney.
In the yard, Rook was wielding a cleaver, his muscles flexing in the sunset. With each swing, massive beef bones were split effortlessly, piling up a mountain of meat.
Erin, wearing her old apron, was efficiently seasoning, stirring, and stewing.
Helping them were two young strangers—
A blond boy was carrying a huge slab of beef to the kitchen.
An orange-haired girl was expertly chopping vegetables.
Sabo, holding the marinated steak, stared blankly at the mountain of meat on the cutting board. "This... this is so much meat... are you hosting a village banquet?"
"It's... it's a bit excessive..." Koala, finishing the vegetables, stared at the pile, her jaw practically on the floor. "This is enough food for a month, isn't it?"
"BWAHAHAHA!" Rook slung the cleaver over his shoulder, laughing heartily. "This? This isn't nearly enough! Just wait until those two brats get back. You'll see this won't even fill the gaps in their teeth!" He sounded proud, as if bragging about two wild beasts.
"That's right, especially Luffy!" Erin beamed, stirring the pot. "When he was little, watching him eat was like watching a tornado in a soup pot."
"Is that so..." Sabo's face twitched, nearly dropping the beef. "Your grandson eats that much?"
He steadied the meat, muttering, "What kind of constitution does this kid have...?"
"You'll see soon enough," Rook grinned.
Just then—
Creak—
The wooden gate was pushed open, followed by familiar footsteps.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home," a calm, deep voice called out.
Before anyone could react, an even louder shout erupted. "GRANDPA!! GRANDMA!! WE'RE HERE!!"
One figure sprinted in, followed closely by a smaller, faster one—
"BAM!!"
"Oof—"
"WAAAAAAH—!!!"
"THUD!"
Sabo had just turned around with a massive rack of ribs when the two boys slammed right into him. The three of them tumbled into a heap in the yard, sending ribs flying and pots clanging. It was instant chaos.
The air froze.
Ace jumped up first, clutching his head, glaring. "Who are you?!"
Luffy, still lying on top of Sabo, blinked. "I don't remember you being in the village. Who're you?!"
Sabo lay on the ground, dazed. He looked at the two boys—
One was tall and fit, his Marine uniform open, radiating youthful energy and sharpness.
The other was shorter, but his eyes held a strange familiarity... and a warmth that shook Sabo to his core.
His throat worked. His gaze lingered on Luffy's face, like a bolt of lightning cutting through his memory, hitting the softest part of his heart.
"So this is... the grandson who eats a lot?"
Just then, a lazy, teasing voice drifted from the gate. "Long time no see~ Sabo."
Everyone froze, turning to look.
Roy was leaning against the doorframe, looking relaxed, but his eyes held a hidden depth.
Sabo shot to his feet, shock on his face. "Mr... Roy?"
"You actually remember me?" Roy chuckled, walking in. "I heard you're the Revolutionary Army's Chief of Staff now. Busy?"
Sabo nodded, flustered. "I just didn't expect... to run into you here."
Roy closed the gate, smiling. "Stop spacing out, Sabo."
"Let's eat."
The sunset turned the walls red. The wind blew through the yard, carrying the scent of woodsmoke, hot soup, and the first true reunion of three brothers whose fates had crossed.
Dawn Island - Rook's Courtyard - Dinner
The yard was filled with the rich aroma of meat.
A long table, big enough for a dozen people, sat in the center, groaning under the weight of the feast.
Roast whole beef, glistening with oil and sauce.
Rich beef stew, savory and fragrant.
Pan-seared steaks, sizzling in mushroom sauce.
Meatball soup, bubbling with fresh vegetables and golden spheres.
Every pot looked like a bubbling treasure chest.
Ace and Luffy were like beasts released from famine.
"WHOA!! This leg is awesome!" Luffy yelled, his mouth full. "Grandpa—ten more plates!!"
"I called dibs! Grandma's secret garlic ribs are all mine!" Ace grabbed an entire platter, gnawing the meat off the bone, sauce smeared on his face.
Plates were stacked higher than people. Bowls formed towers. There was barely an inch of empty space on the table.
Sabo and Koala watched, dumbfounded.
"Are... are these two human?! They can eat two cows in one meal?!"
Sabo was holding his fork and knife, cutting his steak elegantly, but his mouth was twitching uncontrollably.
He looked at the two "eating monsters" across from him and asked hesitantly, "These are... Mr. Roy's brothers?"
Koala swallowed her bite slowly, eyes wide. "Is this a competitive eating contest?"
"Bwahahaha!" Rook slammed a huge pot of bone broth onto the table. "Don't be scared! Those brats have been like this since they were little. They eat hard, play hard, and fight hard."
Erin kept piling food onto their plates, her face full of love. "Eat up! You're growing boys, don't miss a single bite."
"Your grandsons... do they have black holes in their stomachs...?" Sabo muttered, eating quickly, fearing for the safety of the meat on his own plate.
Roy raised his glass, smiling faintly. "I heard about today... Sabo, thanks."
Sabo waved his hand, looking humble. "It was just a coincidence. No trouble at all."
"But..." He paused, looking at Roy. "I never expected to see you again, here, like this."
His gaze grew serious, his mind drifting back two years...
(One Piece Style Flashback)
Two Years Ago - Revolutionary HQ - Baltigo
Sabo had just been confirmed as an "Elite Cadre," growing rapidly under Dragon's tutelage.
One day, he overheard whispers in the hallway. "I heard the original 'Red Ideology' was something a Marine casually mentioned to the Leader years ago?"
"Yeah, who would have thought those words would become the core philosophy of the Revolutionary Army..."
"You mean Vice Admiral Roy? The one who talked with the Leader all night... and the next day, the Leader established the framework for our ideology."
Sabo was shaken.
"Roy...?!"
He became intensely interested in the name.
"What kind of person could make Leader Dragon take him so seriously?"
Finally, one day, he met the legendary man at HQ—
Roy, in his crisp Marine uniform, his coat hanging like a dark curtain, stood beside Dragon, hands behind his back, his expression calm and deep.
Sabo gathered his courage to speak to him. In their first conversation, Sabo was shaken to his core by words that struck straight at the truth—
"You want to overthrow the World Government? Then you have to solve the 'food' and 'land' problems first."
"'Justice' isn't a slogan. It's the reconstruction of order."
"The victory of the revolution isn't in the overthrowing, but in the building that comes after."
In that moment, Sabo understood the "weight of thought" for the first time.
"This man's understanding of the world... is terrifying! Class conflict, productivity revolution, armed seizure of power..."
"Every word cuts to the bone!"
Fired up, Sabo challenged the "Ideological Mentor" on the spot.
Then—
Two seconds.
He didn't even touch Roy's shadow before he was pinned to the ground like a broken twig.
"That man... is ridiculously strong."
From that day on, Sabo was completely won over. He began to actively learn, imitate, and even take notes on everything Roy said.

Back at the Table
"Sabo? Sabo?"
Koala gently shook his shoulder.
"Ah... sorry, I zoned out." Sabo scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.
"Your meat is getting cold. Don't waste it," Koala smiled, passing him the sauce.
But as she spoke—
"I'll take that meat!" Luffy's hand shot out, eyes locked on Sabo's plate.
"In your dreams!" Sabo blocked the plate instantly, his movement as fluid as if he were blocking a bullet on the battlefield.
Everyone froze, then burst out laughing. The laughter made the yard feel even warmer.
The sunset stretched their shadows, drawing them closer together.
Roy watched the happy scene, his expression calm, but deep in his eyes, a hidden ripple stirred.
