Just as Yamabuki was about to leave, a commotion suddenly erupted downstairs.
Head Tsunayashiro could only crane his neck to look down. Who was so thoughtless? How dare they cause trouble on his territory?
On the first floor, several wandering samurai were staring foolishly at the young women dancing on stage, and one of them had even drawn his sword.
"They say the closer you get to Seireitei, the higher the standard of living, and it's true! Look how beautiful these women are! Grab them all! One for each of us!" The leader laughed wildly. His subordinates also cheered him on. These men lived a life of licking blood from blades, and women who were slightly pretty but lacked power couldn't survive in the outer Rukongai, so they all came to the inner Rukongai. These men had never seen pretty girls, and they were all as pent-up as turtles.
Now, seeing so many lovely girls appear here, they stopped pretending and simply started grabbing.
As they caused a ruckus, the customers drinking on the first floor fled, fearing trouble. Only a few remained, enjoying the spectacle.
At the very edge of the first floor sat a man wearing a straw hat, holding a sake cup, drinking cup after cup of inferior sake. Seeing these bandits causing trouble here, he couldn't help but sigh. Do these people have no brains? Do you know why the public order is so good near Seireitei?
Head Tsunayashiro wasn't angry when he saw someone causing trouble downstairs. Instead, he smiled as he watched these little rascals below.
"Chief of Staff, maintaining order in Rukongai is also the responsibility of the Gotei 13. Aren't you going to intervene?" Head Tsunayashiro smiled like a fox, and Yamabuki, not knowing what he was up to, took a sip of sake and said, "I'm on vacation today, I'm not dealing with these matters!"
"Hahaha! In that case, I won't be polite." A sinister look appeared in Head Tsunayashiro's eyes.
The tavern owner rushed forward to stop these bandits, offering a plate of copper coins with a smile: "Gentlemen, leave a line for future encounters. These coins are my tribute to you, kings. These young women are also unfortunate souls. Please be merciful and let them go!"
The bandit leader's face was twisted in a sinister grin. He directly drew his sword and swung it down at the tavern owner. The tavern owner, scared, quickly covered his face. But after waiting for a long time, nothing happened. He looked up and saw that only half of the sword in the bandit leader's hand remained.
Head Tsunayashiro was slightly stunned and looked at Yamabuki. Yamabuki spread his hands: "I told you I don't meddle in others' affairs. It wasn't me."
Head Tsunayashiro was even more surprised. If it wasn't Yamabuki, then who helped? The bandit leader's sword was only half-left, and he stared dumbfounded at the broken sword in his hand, at a loss.
"Who? Who dares to ruin my good time! Step out!!!" The bandit leader's forehead was covered in cold sweat, but he couldn't back down in front of so many subordinates, so he barked at his surroundings. However, those who dared to stay and watch the show all had some skills, and they were all watching the bandit leader with the mentality of watching a monkey show.
But Yamabuki's gaze fell on the man sitting at the very edge, wearing a straw hat.
"Owner, come up." Yamabuki called to the owner downstairs. The owner, sweating profusely, hurried to Yamabuki.
"What's the best sake you have here? Get a pot of the best sake and send it to that person." Yamabuki pointed to the man in the straw hat sitting at the edge.
Head Tsunayashiro's gaze followed Yamabuki's finger. His strength was not enough to clearly see what had just happened.
Could it be that this person was the one who acted just now?
"Oh, and put the sake on his tab!" Yamabuki pointed at Head Tsunayashiro, since the entire hotel was owned by Head Tsunayashiro anyway.
The tavern owner didn't dare to ask more and quickly prepared a pot of the best sake to send to that guest.
The bandits watched as the tavern owner delivered a pot of sake to the man in the straw hat, vaguely guessing that this man was the one who ruined their good time.
"Customer, this is... sake from the shop, please enjoy." The tavern owner said softly.
The man in the straw hat slightly raised his head and looked towards the second floor, his gaze meeting Yamabuki's.
"Good wine, but it's tasteless without a beauty to pour it," the man in the straw hat chuckled.
The boss looked a bit troubled. After all, this tavern wasn't his property, but Head Tsunayashiro's, and these girls were also Head Tsunayashiro's personal property. So, he couldn't make the decision and could only look up at Head Tsunayashiro on the second floor.
Head Tsunayashiro nodded slightly, and soon, the two young ladies who had been dancing on stage came to the man in the straw hat, helping him with food and pouring wine.
The bandit leader tightly gripped the broken half of his sword. In truth, he had a sneaking suspicion that this man was not to be trifled with, but to save face, he strode over boldly and sat directly opposite the man in the straw hat.
"Boss, why are these girls drinking with him? Why not with me? Get all the girls over here!" the bandit leader bellowed.
The man in the straw hat suddenly sneered, saying in a flippant tone, "You? You think you're worthy of having these lovely girls pour you wine?"
"What did you say?!" The bandit leader slammed his hand on the table, then reached out to grab the girl who was pouring wine.
The man in the straw hat looked up slightly, his hand moving like lightning, grabbing his wrist. With a gentle flick of his palm, the bandit leader was sent flying.
"It's rare to have good wine and beautiful women; don't ruin my mood," the man in the straw hat said with a smile, handing out his cup. The young lady pouring wine beside him was stunned, her eyes shining as she looked at him.
"Brothers, let's go! Kill him!" the bandit leader yelled. "And also, kill all these women!"
With that, he charged at the man in the straw hat, brandishing the broken half of his sword. A cold flash suddenly appeared in mid-air, and the man in the straw hat leisurely returned his sword to its sheath.
The bandit leader's movements had frozen in place. After a long moment, a line of blood split open from between his eyebrows, slowly trickling down.
Head Tsunayashiro's eyes gleamed as he watched. What a talent! If such a master could serve his family...
Yamabuki silently drank his wine, lost in thought. Suddenly, he sensed something, and his gaze passed over the man in the straw hat to look out the door.
Almost simultaneously, the man in the straw hat sharply turned his head to look outside, gripping his sword tightly, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
The dancing young ladies didn't know what was happening and followed the man in the straw hat's gaze outside.
Gripping his sword, the man in the straw hat murmured, "An incredible person has arrived. I've never felt such strong killing intent in my life!"
No sooner had he spoken than the tavern door opened, and Unohana walked in with a smile on her face.
