Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

A few months later, the peace was shattered when the kingdom of Acadis was the first to be hit by the conquest campaigns organized by the new king of the kingdom of Zarco.

Tension quickly arose in the viscountcy, as Dylan knew from reading the novel that his father would be summoned to lead some troops, since the viscountcy was close to the borders that were being attacked, and there were also middle-ranking nobles who ensured that Demian was summoned.

"This is excellent. I think these chaotic moments are the most suitable for committing Perverse Acts that will allow me to increase my power," thought Dylan, who was wearing thick wool pajamas, as it was snowing outside the mansion.

That night, when everyone was asleep, Dylan left his room, walked through the dark corridors, and entered Elena's nanny's room, as he sometimes did.

He lay down on the bed and hugged his sister's nanny, burying his face in her breasts, which were covered by a white wool dress.

"Young master, are you cold?" Elena's beautiful nanny asked in a sleepy voice.

"Yes, it's very cold," Dylan replied without moving away.

While she slept, he subtly transferred mana to her, which had caused her to age more slowly than a normal person.

"If you don't let that gardener touch you, in the future you'll be my rich and juicy MILF, but if you mess up with this same mana, I'll kill you both," Dylan thought maliciously, and shortly after, he fell asleep.

When he woke up, Dylan saw the notification and smiled smugly.

"Thank you very much, my lovely system. Put the point in mana."

[Mana: 70]

"Young master, you must go with your maid."

Dylan got up, hugged Elena's nanny, and said in a charming tone:

"Thank you."

"All right, all right, go with your maid or she'll worry." Elena's nanny, who was already dressed to go serve Dylan's sister, indicated.

"Bye." Dylan said cheerfully and left his sister's nanny's room.

A few days later, in the Viscount's study, there was a man of robust build, with shaved hair, a black mustache, and dark skin, wearing a cream-colored shirt and brown pants. The man in question was Frank, the leader of the Ascan guild; and a man with reddish hair, fair skin, and green eyes, who was a shrewd businessman and owner of the colorful building that housed the toy and candy store that the duke had visited with his children some time ago.

"Viscount, let's talk about money. If you want my guild's support, I couldn't care less about your reputation or the kingdom's security," said the leader of the Ascan guild in an informal tone.

As the viscount did not speak, Frank continued:

"If you are interested in us protecting you while you go on the military campaign or protecting your mansion, we will charge 1,000 gold coins per month to protect the mansion and send two adventurers at the mid-level of 4 suns. If you want us to protect you on the campaign, it will be 2,000 per month, and we will assign two bodyguards at the maximum level of 4 Suns. It will be more expensive if you want mages. If you want people with a higher rank, you should know that the price will increase substantially.

After Viscount listened to Frank's proposal, he looked at Mr. Melier and asked him in a calm and confident tone:

"Mr. Melier, why have you come? I doubt you want to participate in this campaign. You can mention your proposal or request immediately, and I will resolve it or give you an answer if it is within my power."

"Viscount Demian, I am interested in buying your title of viscount. It is something I have proposed time and again to several nobles in decline without obtaining the desired result, but I hope you will consider it, because with 10,000,000 gold coins you can live a quiet life, hire an adventurer to protect you, and you will not have to go on the campaign",that was Mr. Melier's proposal.

Demian inhaled and exhaled. The proposal would be an insult to any noble, except for those assigned to the current territory in which Demian found himself.

"I refuse. It is absurd to lose the title of noble. You must have been told before that it is better to cling to the last hopes than to live without that title," replied Viscount Demian.

The viscount's response was more than justified, because in the kingdom of Acadis, before the law and before the king, a nobleman would always be worth more than a commoner, and any offensive action by a nobleman against a commoner could be compensated, but the opposite was not true, as many commoners had died after offending nobles.

Mr. Melier clenched his fists and said:

"Compromise. I have a daughter. I will support your campaign if you betroth her to your son. In the future, they can marry when she turns sixteen."

"I'm very sorry, but that's something I can't decide right now," " replied the viscount, then looked at Frank. "I will hire the adventurers to protect the mansion, and two adventurers to accompany me during the military campaign."

The meeting continued for a little over an hour.

In the garden, Anelia's gaze was deep and somewhat somber, even though she was trying to appear cheerful.

"Mother, mother. Why are you so sad? If anyone hurts you, I'll take care of them," said Dylan, taking his mother's right hand in his hands.

Anelia smiled and caressed her son's cheek with her left hand, then replied affectionately:

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Go walk in the garden with your sister."

"As you wish, Mother." Dylan kissed the back of his mother's hand and then approached Elena to teach her some simple magic spells.

It was nighttime, snow was falling gently, Dylan was lying on the snow in the area where he used to practice his magic at night.
