Chapter 532 - Chapter 531: Siege (Part Two)

Black Adam saw Faora diving toward him at an angle but didn't take her seriously at all. Facing her punch aimed at his chest, he casually reached out to grab her wrist, intending to throw her aside.

However, the moment they made contact, he knew he was in trouble. Her strength was incomparably massive. It was too late to change tactics—he could only twist his body to try and dodge.

*BOOM—* With an explosive sound, Black Adam, who had been hovering in midair, was knocked to the ground and smashed into a shallow human-shaped crater. His body was truly resilient; he wasn't hurt at all. He pulled off his hood, revealing a rather dignified middle-aged face.

"You are a woman worthy of my full strength, I..." Black Adam was only halfway through his speech when he tried to fly up, only to discover his legs were entangled in plants. Countless vines were rapidly climbing up his body, occasionally releasing toxins from their branches that seeped through his skin and into his body.

What the hell is this! Before he could protest about unfair combat and demand they fight him one-on-one, Killer Frost, the newest member, attacked as well.

Taking advantage of Poison Ivy's control over the enemy, she flew behind Black Adam, pressed her hands against his body, and began frantically absorbing his heat.

At her peak, Killer Frost had absorbed Superman's heat and used this move to instantly defeat the entire Justice League. Though she was far from that level now, she still managed to harm Black Adam.

Cold, very cold! A bone-deep chill. Even though Black Adam had extremely high magic resistance and various energy resistances, he was still frozen solid.

Actually, Killer Frost's power wasn't purely ice attacks. Theoretically speaking, heat absorption was her true ability. With massive heat loss from inside an enemy's body, very few could ignore it—except for some special life forms.

Black Adam was first and foremost human, so he naturally had body temperature. The massive loss of heat instantly weakened him. The vines that he could have broken free from with a little effort now felt like they were growing into his body. The heat loss also drained his stamina. Black Adam felt he had never been this weak.

Papa Midnite tossed a few spells like he was just going through the motions. The minimal effect made him smile bitterly at Thea. This guy must have eaten something special to grow up—his magic resistance was terrifyingly high, leaving Papa Midnite somewhat helpless.

Thea gestured for him to continue while she began casting magic resistance reduction spells on Black Adam.

Ancient mages liked to slay dragons when they had nothing better to do. They weren't all magic-warrior hybrids who could fight dragons directly with staffs—that was impossible. Their winning moves still relied on spells, and the spell to reduce enemy resistance was born from that era.

If it could reduce a dragon's resistance, what about Black Adam? She didn't need to reduce it permanently—as long as the spell lasted half an hour or ten minutes, it would be enough.

As she continued casting spells at Black Adam's head, his resistance plummeted. Papa Midnite's various curses and hexes finally began to take effect.

Growing weaker and weaker, Black Adam took two more heat vision blasts from Faora. The blood at the corner of his mouth proved he wasn't invincible. By now, he was thinking of escape. These people didn't play by the rules—ten against one! Though he didn't know where this place was, running first seemed like the right move.

Feeling his body temperature draining faster and faster, he hesitated no longer. Concentrating the lightning magic in his body, he slammed backward into Killer Frost.

Caught off guard, Caitlin was knocked away. Black Adam quickly broke free from the vine entanglement and flew toward the sky.

"Master said you cannot leave." The Red Tornado, whose core code had been modified, had been circling in the air. Seeing Black Adam trying to flee, it immediately transformed into a whirlwind and slammed him back down without a second thought.

Black Adam had no time to marvel that the thing that knocked him down didn't seem human. The crazed Livewire and Deathstroke attacked from one side.

Poison Ivy and Killer Frost regrouped and fiercely pounced from the other side, while Faora in the air relentlessly launched a fierce assault on him.

After being critically injured by Doomsday last time, the military, feeling the Red Tornado's offense was insufficient, equipped it with many more technological weapons. Now all these weapons fell upon Black Adam's head.

Papa Midnite conducted magical attacks from the outer perimeter. Seven people surrounded Black Adam so tightly there wasn't a gap.

Thea, along with Deadman and Grodd, watched from the outermost ring. In her view, Black Adam's defeat was only a matter of time. The difficulty was how to bypass the divine power's control over his body.

While the young lady's mind wandered, the besieged Black Adam could only struggle to hold on.

Less than five minutes into the fight, he felt deep malice. Forget the others—Faora alone could fight him to a standstill. Now with six more helpers! He didn't know the enemy wanted to capture him alive. Black Adam felt that lasting this long was already beyond his limits.

"What grudge do you have against me? I can submit to you!" Black Adam threw out what he thought was an offer they couldn't refuse. As long as he kept his life, whether he submitted or not could be discussed later.

Unfortunately, Thea only wanted his magic power. Once his magic disappeared, his lifespan would naturally come to an end—a condition Black Adam could never accept under any circumstances.

Seeing negotiations fail, Black Adam launched his final fierce assault.

He wasn't completely without strategy. First, he used a flurry of punches and kicks to force back the slightly weaker Deathstroke, then unleashed a massive lightning beam directly at Killer Frost. Livewire took the bait as expected, jumping up madly to absorb the electricity, which blocked the attack lines of the remaining fighters. Black Adam ultimately charged toward the Red Tornado in the sky.

"A puppet? Get out of my way!" Black Adam punched the Red Tornado away with two strikes. Just as he was about to fly into the distance, he saw a pair of brilliant eyes looking at him.

His homeland destroyed, wife and children scattered, his life's pursuit ruined in an instant—he was terrified beyond control. He didn't know what value his survival still held.

Just when he was at his most helpless, heaven took pity on him and let him obtain the power he'd dreamed of. Then, when he was about to do something with it, his homeland was destroyed again, his wife and children fled again...

Fear and pity constantly warred in his heart. Sometimes crying, sometimes laughing, time seemed to pass both very long and very short. Then Faora punched him in the back of the head. The darkening vision suppressed his consciousness. Lost between illusion and reality, he ultimately knew nothing more.

"Grodd, come!" Thea tested her new emotional impact technique. It had to be said, using two emotions in combination worked remarkably well. Black Adam, who was being beaten down, wasn't known for his strong willpower anyway, so she easily knocked him out.

The rotund gorilla began his work. Dr. Sivana, sensing the battle was over, also carefully approached the battlefield.

The earlier scene of lightning and thunder felt like a movie, giving him an unreal feeling.

Black Adam, whom he had painstakingly searched for, was knocked to the ground. A creature that looked very much like an Earth gorilla was standing beside him. What was this for? Surely it wasn't going to eat him? Dr. Sivana felt that everything today was strange from beginning to end.
