Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Was this really the top-tier developer the interstellar players talked about? Even kids from his previous life could make something better.

His expectations dulled.

Felix leaned back with a sigh. "It seems like I need to work harder," he muttered, tapping the start button as a running scene appeared.

The little bear showed a terrified expression and quickly grabbed the laser gun that was bigger than its head.

Felix gained control of its body.

The mechanics were similar to Subway Surfer, players didn't need to focus entirely on running.

There was a path ahead filled with obstacles.

Felix sprinted, crouched, and ran through it.

Up ahead appeared a bizarre alien.

"From the looks of it, I guess that's what the player needs to shoot?" Felix raised the bear's paw, aimed the laser gun, and fired.

Pew pew.

The sound was identical to the laser guns sold on the market, except it sounded like a kid's toy.

The alien moved but couldn't escape its spot and died instantly.

The little bear grinned, and Felix laughed, "Ha! This seems like an easy game!" Finally, a new game he hadn't created or seen in his previous life.

Felix quickly immersed himself in it.

Five minutes later…

The little bear looked downcast.

Felix's expectations dropped again and again.

The gameplay was decent but not great.

The obstacles ahead and the constant need to shoot aliens overwhelmed him.

His mediocre skill in the holographic pod showed clearly.

"Maybe this game isn't for me at all!"

Every time he tried to dodge the obstacles, he missed the aliens hovering midway.

His health dropped, and it actually hurt.

The running got more intense, and he couldn't keep up.

Even with his strong mental energy, he barely made it one kilometer.

His mental energy, which the system provided, did not include any boost to his combat ability.

Felix was like a mage who could strike a player from a distance, but if someone hit him from the front his defense would crack, since he did not have enough agility in his system like the usual mistake made by newbies.

Still, it was better than most developers at his level.

Felix left the game reluctantly.

"If the developer removed the obstacles and focused on shooting the aliens while making the running faster, it would be better…" Even someone with mediocre skills like him could do better.

The reason he was good at Splatoon in his past stream was because interstellar players weren't familiar with game mechanics yet.

Looking at it now, they had probably already caught up to his level.

This type of game was more suited for hardcore players, especially those in the military, since it would be great training.

As for Felix, it wasn't for him. He played games for fun, not as part of his daily life.

He preferred focusing on designing and editing drafts for his future games, and for now, his mental energy was still above average.

In the original body's memory, there was a soldier exam, but he didn't get chosen.

How lucky this original body was. Since he didn't receive a red card and instead got a yellow one, it meant he didn't need to train as a soldier at all.

It was all based on luck.

That meant both the original body and Fia, who now resided in it, were mediocre in action, battle, and FPS games.

It was understandable for Fia, since in her previous life there were no wars, and no holographic pods to train martial arts.

Fia was only good at playing games when seated at a chair and table with a keyboard and mouse.

Anything involving physical activity was a no for her. As for Felix, his performance in physical abilities was just average.

That was also the reason he only had a few fans in his streams, since his skills are just average its not too bad nor good.

Felix didn't have the ability to entertain viewers either, unlike Alex, which was why his viewers plummeted.

The only fans who stayed were probably just into his voice.

That was why even if Fia quit streaming openly, no one would care.

He was merely a small fish in a pond.

In Felix's memories, his only reason for streaming was because he liked playing games.

There was no real passion behind it.

Fia didn't need to force herself to stream either, since the original body had no strong desire for it.

The only thing they shared was their poor physical skill and love for games.

Felix nodded to himself, "I'm still better at playing though."

[ Are you sure, host?]

The system displayed on the holoscreen how many times Felix had died in Shoot the Alien.

Felix felt embarrassed.

"I mean, if you put a computer and keyboard on my desk, I would play better than this!" After all, the original Felix had lived his whole life using a holographic pod, while she, who now possessed this body, came from years ago.

[ Ah huh ]

Felix snorted. "You don't understand." He started listing how good he was at playing COD and other skill-based games.

On another floor in Tierra Entertainment, Jalen stretched lazily.

Noticing this, Niko, who was part of the character design team and worked on new skins and cosmetics for Splatoon, asked, "Bro Jalen, you guys done with the map?" The boss, Tierra, allowed them to create new content for Splatoon every month.

Jalen's assigned task was Moray Towers with Kael, who had gone home early to take care of his grandparents.

Jalen shook his head. "There's still a part that's not polished yet." Tierra allowed them to make adjustments if needed, though it was unfortunate that the maps the boss provided were already almost perfect.
