Chapter 25 Cultivation, Sleep, and Embracing the Snow Empress
On the ice bed crafted from Xuanbing marrow, Yunze opened his eyes.
Slightly dazed, he glanced at the bedside and saw the Snow Empress, the Ice Empress, and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion—the three women—looking at him.
"How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?" Seeing Yunze awake, the Ice Empress quickly asked.
Yunze checked his body, finding no aftereffects, shook his head, and smiled, "I'm fine. I'm sorry to have worried you."
"Phew, that's good. You wouldn't believe how worried I was when Xue'er brought you back. If Xue'er hadn't said you were alright, I really wouldn't know what to do!"
Listening to the Ice Empress's chatter, Yunze remained silent,
a smile playing on his lips. This feeling of being cared for was truly wonderful, especially by such a delicate beauty as the Ice Empress.
"Little Ze, your talent is truly amazing! Xue'er said you actually created a brand new combat technique based on her unique skill. Hehe, you truly deserve to be the future king of our far north." Thinking back to her conversation with Xue Di while waiting for Yun Ze to wake up, Bing Di felt genuinely proud of Yun Ze.
Yun Ze rubbed his nose. Although this move was very powerful, it clearly needed considerable improvement.
Fortunately, he was still young, and there was plenty of time ahead.
"Let's rest well today and continue tomorrow," Xue Di said softly, then left the room to prepare food for Yun Ze.
Since Yun Ze was weaned at around three years old, Xue Di had proactively learned some basic cooking skills from the Nine-Tailed Ice Fox. Of course, to cater to Yun Ze's tastes, Xue Di had even spent a considerable amount of time figuring things out on her own.
The food she made wasn't exactly delicious, but at least it was edible.
Yun Ze wasn't picky about these things; he liked anything Xue'er made.
After sitting up from the bed, Yun Ze was pulled out by the Three-Eyed Golden Lion.
The Three-Eyed Golden Lion wasn't staying to watch Yunze cultivate. Now that Yunze had a day off, it naturally wanted to play with him.
The two left the palace, Yunze skillfully flipping onto the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and quickly disappearing into the vast snowstorm.
The Ice Empress didn't go with them, but stayed in the palace to assist the Snow Empress. Her purpose was simple: to learn cooking from her.
The Snow Empress's culinary talent was actually quite good. After all, the Nine-Tailed Ice Fox only mastered basic soul beast cooking, at most using some spices unique to the far north to add flavor—completely incomparable to human cooking. The
fact that Yunze, a human, didn't find the food offensive was truly impressive.
Conversely, the Ice Empress was a complete idiot in this regard.
She had excitedly prepared several dishes for Yunze on his fifth birthday, but he had forced himself to eat every single one.
If it weren't for his close relationship with Ice Empress, Yunze truly wouldn't have been able to eat a single bite!
After playing outside with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion for most of the day, Yunze finally rode the Three-Eyed Golden Lion back to the palace in the evening.
In the main hall, four figures sat in different corners around an ice table, with Ice Empress and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion naturally very close to Yunze.
Yunze held a little ice fox in his arms and a baby bottle made of ice with a nipple made of a special material, feeding the little ice fox.
After the little guy burped after eating, Yunze gently stroked its fur with his left hand before starting to eat.
"Not bad, Sister Xue'er, your cooking skills have improved very quickly!" After tasting a bite of the Snow Empress's cooking, Yunze nodded approvingly, "It's a pity that you are all ice-attribute soul beasts; it would be better if you could roast them over a fire." The spirit beasts in the far north basically eat raw meat and drink blood, unlike the spirit beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest who use fire to roast their food.
Thinking of this, he glanced at the Three-Eyed Golden Lion with some frustration. The big guy possessed fire attributes, but unfortunately, it was always pestering him to play whenever Sister Xue'er cooked, and had no time to help at all.
Oh well, he was used to eating vegetarian food every day anyway.
After finishing his meal, Yunze became lazy that evening. He didn't cultivate, nor did he play with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. He just stayed in Xue Di's arms and didn't move.
In his arms, the little ice fox lazily yawned, snuggled closer to Yunze, and found a comfortable spot to continue lying down.
Yunze did the same. Although he didn't get sleepy as often as he did when he was a child, being able to lie in Xue Di's soft embrace was simply the happiest moment in the world.
The Snow Empress didn't force Yunze to cultivate. She simply held him, silently watching his face after he closed his eyes, a smile occasionally playing on her lips.
That night, Yunze slept soundly again.
The next day, the Snow Empress didn't force Yunze to get up early either. Instead, she waited until he woke up naturally before preparing breakfast for him, and then took him outside to continue his cultivation.
It must be said that the Snow Empress was truly dedicated when teaching Yunze. Whenever she noticed any problems with Yunze's circulation of soul power, she would wait until he finished a move, then personally hold his small hand, letting him feel the circulation of soul power within his body.
To help Yunze understand more clearly, the Snow Empress even used only a very small amount of soul power when employing combat techniques.
Under these circumstances, Yunze's comprehension of the Collapsing Snow technique became increasingly proficient, and even the combat technique he modified based on Collapsing Snow was gradually becoming more refined.
Since most of Xue Di's combat techniques relied primarily on soul power and elemental control, with mental power as a secondary element, they were extremely taxing on her. Therefore, Yunze could only practice for a short while each day before being forced to shut down and rest in Xue Di's arms.
Xue Di didn't say much about Yunze's blatant attempts to take advantage of her. Instead, to motivate him to train, she rewarded him with a kiss every time he made a breakthrough in his combat techniques. Yunze
was absolutely thrilled!
While he had been kissed by Xue Di before when he was younger, it was a completely different feeling.
Now he could kiss her back!
Whenever Yunze's lips touched Xue Di's soft lips, seeing her somewhat helpless yet doting expression, he thought Xue'er was incredibly cute.
Thus, three months passed in this way, with Xue Di's careful instruction and occasional attempts to take advantage of Xue'er.
That day, the Snow Emperor, unusually, gave Yunze a day off, allowing him to rest and reflect on his three months of cultivation.
Yunze was immediately dragged out by the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, and of course, he didn't leave the little ice fox behind either. The two of them left excitedly.
Having barely played with Yunze for three months, and seeing that Di Tian was about to come and take him away, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's eyes darted around. Suddenly, it remembered something Yunze had told it, smiled slyly, and led Yunze off in a certain direction.
Not long after, when the Three-Eyed Golden Lion stopped, Yunze's face darkened. "
I knew it was changing direction and coming this way!
So it was waiting for me here!"
Yunze recalled that when he first met the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, he had wanted to encourage it to find an opportunity to cause trouble in the Titan Snow Demon Clan.
He never expected that this guy would actually bring him here today!
