Chapter 44 Ling Luochen's Heart
Girls usually take a long time to bathe, but Ling Luochen was different; she soon pushed open the bathroom door and came out.
Although only fourteen or fifteen years old, Ling Luochen's figure was already quite attractive. A pair of long, beautiful legs were revealed under her snow-white short skirt; her legs were very straight.
Ling Luochen wore a matching snow-white coat, and her black hair, slightly damp, fell behind her head, giving her an infinitely beautiful appearance.
"Sister Luochen is so beautiful," Yunze said with a smile.
Ling Luochen's pretty face flushed slightly, but she didn't speak, only walking to his side. "I'm done."
"Then let's go!" Yunze said, reaching out and taking Ling Luochen's small hand. This time, Ling Luochen didn't react, letting Yunze lead her away from her courtyard.
At this time, many people in the Ling mansion had already gotten up. When they saw their aloof young lady being led out of the mansion by a handsome young man, they were all stunned.
Is this...our young lady?
When did the young lady become so intimate with a man?
Not only the servants, but even some of the younger generation of the Ling family stared at Yun Ze as if he were a monster.
Normally, Ling Luo Chen wouldn't even talk to her cousins, yet she was willing to be dragged along by a little guy?
Then, a hint of jealousy flashed in their eyes.
However, these younger members of the Ling family weren't jealous of Yun Ze and Ling Luo Chen's relationship; they were simply jealous of his good looks.
No wonder, in Yun Ze's words, his appearance was absolutely stunning, especially since he was still young, easily arousing the sympathy of young girls.
Sure enough, many of the Ling family's maids and young ladies looked at Yun Ze with shining eyes, and even after he left the Ling residence, they followed him to the door, watching the two of them depart from afar. You'll never believe why I moved to… Karachi
"That little boy is so handsome!" a young lady from the Ling family exclaimed sweetly, several maids echoing her.
Ling Qian Shuang, dressed in a nightgown, also arrived at the Ling mansion. Seeing a group of girls standing outside the gate, she approached with some confusion. "Ruo Xue, why are so many of you all crammed here?"
"Sister Qian Shuang, I just saw a really, really handsome little guy! But it seems he went out with Sister Luo Chen!" The girl excitedly exclaimed upon hearing Ling Qian Shuang's words, but her expression quickly turned melancholic. "That's right, with Sister Luo Chen there, I definitely have no chance."
Ling Qian Shuang narrowed her eyes. She naturally understood who the girl was referring to, but she hadn't expected that Yun Ze and Ling Luo Chen's relationship would become so much closer in just one night.
Ha, even with such aloofness, he still had to fall into the mortal world in the end.
"You're right, you really have no chance." Ling Qian Shuang felt inexplicably displeased, coldly uttering these words before returning to the side courtyard for breakfast.
The girl stared blankly at the outside of the Ling residence, her lips pouting.
*Sob*
Although Yunze had some idea of the situation at the Ling residence, he naturally didn't care.
Ling Luochen was the same; with her composure, such things wouldn't cause her much emotional fluctuation.
"So many people!" Upon arriving on the street, Yunze quickly noticed that even though it wasn't very late, the streets were already incredibly bustling.
Ling Luochen explained softly, "In a few days it will be our Xuanbing City's annual festival. Generally, the number of shops and pedestrians on the streets increases during these days, and business is at its best."
"A festival?"
"Yes, Xuanbing City was actually established only a thousand years ago. It's said that hundreds of years ago, a beast tide occurred, and it was the ancestors of the city who joined forces to resist it. This day became our Xuanbing City's traditional festival," Ling Luochen said softly.
A beast tide...
Yunze fell silent.
Seeing that Yunze remained silent, Ling Luochen assumed he wasn't interested in what she had said. She thought to herself, "Yunze is, after all, the young master of a mysterious force; he probably wouldn't be interested in the history of a place like this."
Suddenly, Ling Luochen's eyes lit up, and she instinctively pulled Yunze's hand, leading him towards a certain spot. Yunze looked over and found it was a sugar figurine stall, surrounded by children around his age.
"Ah, this..."
He glanced at Ling Luochen and noticed a smile on the latter's face. After a moment's thought, he let Ling Luochen lead him over.
The stall owner was an elderly woman who looked to be in her sixties or seventies. Her hair was graying, and she wore a kind smile. Although she had many wrinkles, one could still vaguely see her youthful beauty.
Seeing Ling Luochen and Yunze approach, she smiled slightly at them. "What a beautiful brother and sister! Come, see if there are any you like. Grandma made these herself; they're so sweet!"
Ling Luochen said somewhat shyly, "Grandma, I wonder if you remember me? I'm Luochen."
"Luochen?" The old woman thought for a moment, then looked at Ling Luochen with some surprise. "You're that little girl from the Ling family?"
"Yes." Ling Luochen nodded gently.
"Oh, it's you! Hehe, you've grown so much! I remember you used to bring your little brother here often when you were little," the old lady said with a smile.
A hint of melancholy flickered in Ling Luochen's eyes.
The old lady was very perceptive and immediately noticed Ling Luochen's troubled mood. She smiled silently and handed two sugar figurines to Ling Luochen and Yunze. "Here, consider it a treat from Grandma."
"Ah, no need for that," Ling Luochen said, waving her hands dismissively. "
It's alright, just two sugar figurines," the old lady said, placing the figurines directly into Ling Luochen and Yunze's hands.
Ling Luochen ultimately accepted them, looking at the sugar figurines in her hands with a touch of reluctance.
Yunze, on the other hand, felt no burden at all, sticking out his tongue to lick one; it was sweet, just as he had imagined.
"When I was little, this grandma used to come here to sell sugar figurines. My brother and I both loved sweets, so we'd often run here to buy a couple, eating and laughing. Sometimes, after we finished, we couldn't eat anything when we got home, and my dad would scold us for ages."
Ling Luochen's voice rang out softly, a hint of longing appearing in her eyes.
"Since he left, I haven't bought any sugar figurines here. Today is the first time." Saying this, Ling Luochen turned to look at Yunze, a gentle smile playing on her lips.
"Thank you, Xiaoze."
Yunze was silent for a moment, lost in thought.
After a while, he looked at Ling Luochen and chuckled softly, "Mm."
"Sister Luochen."
"What's wrong?"
"Do you think this will be the last time we come here to buy sugar figurines?" Yunze looked at the bustling street ahead and spoke softly.
Ling Luochen was taken aback, then gently shook her head, "No." "
Is that so?" Yun Ze's complex emotions gradually faded as he spoke, he tightened his grip on his small hand, and raised a genuine smile, "Sister Luochen, I want to eat something delicious!"
"Okay, I'll take you." Ling Luochen nodded with a smile, and soon the two of them plunged into the crowd on the street.
