Chapter 121: Xiao Wu's Spirit Soul, Meeting Tang Hao Again
Several days passed in the blink of an eye.
Aside from accompanying Bibi Dong and learning her insights into cultivating twin Martial Souls, Qi Tian also absorbed the hundred-thousand-year Wisdom Skull Bone she had given him when he left the cultivation chamber, greatly enhancing his spiritual power.
"How do you feel?" Bibi Dong asked with concern.
Even though she knew that absorbing a soul bone carried no real danger, she still couldn't help but worry.
After these few days of intimacy and bonding, she already regarded Qi Tian as the most important person in her life.
"Not bad at all."
Qi Tian had gained two soul bone skills—one was Soul Roar, and the other was Soul Vortex.
Soul Roar was a spiritual attack-type soul skill.
Soul Vortex was a strange ability that condensed spiritual power into a swirling vortex, seemingly both offensive and defensive at the same time.
"Of course. I obtained that from killing a hundred-thousand-year sea soul beast myself," Bibi Dong said with a nod.
After lingering together for a while longer, they finally left the secret chamber.
As the Pope, Bibi Dong had many matters to handle. Having vanished for several days, she naturally needed to reappear and reaffirm her presence.
At that moment, Qi Tian suddenly sensed that Xiao Wu's soul imprint was about to hatch into a Spirit Soul.
This was a direct result of his strengthened spiritual power. Without the Wisdom Skull Bone, Xiao Wu likely would have needed much more time before her hatching.
Qi Tian released Xiao Wu's Spirit Soul, and a tender, pink-cheeked young girl appeared before him.
She looked at him in a daze, as if not yet fully awake.
"Qi Tian, is that you? I… I really came back to life?"
Xiao Wu examined herself curiously. Having just broken out of her shell, she wore nothing at all—her delicate body soft and youthful.
"Ah! Why am I not wearing any clothes?"
With a thought, a familiar little white dress wrapped itself around her. Only her long, slender white legs and jade-like feet remained bare.
Qi Tian looked her over and noticed that after becoming a Spirit Soul, she seemed to have grown a few years older.
And this phase… was clearly her peak beauty. She looked even better than before, now fully able to rival Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, and others.
"Xiao Wu, you should be calling me 'Master' now," Qi Tian reminded her.
He and Xiao Wu had signed a master–servant contract. He was the master, Xiao Wu the servant.
Xiao Wu pouted. "Yes… Master."
Having signed the contract, she could not defy his commands. That was the fate of Spirit Souls—eternal servitude.
"Master, what happened to Tang Hao?" Xiao Wu asked.
"He's already had his limbs severed and is imprisoned in Spirit Hall's dungeon," Qi Tian replied.
A sudden thought struck Qi Tian—he should go see Tang Hao and see whether the man had softened enough to reveal the secrets of the Clear Sky Sect.
"Huh? Why didn't Spirit Hall kill him?" Xiao Wu said regretfully.
To her, Spirit Hall was overwhelmingly powerful. Now that Tang Hao was in their hands, she felt her chance for revenge had vanished.
Qi Tian chuckled. "Don't you think that a fate worse than death is sometimes a better punishment than just killing him?"
"Besides, your mother's soul fragments might still be hidden within Tang Hao's ninth soul ring. Don't you want to bring her back?"
"What? Can Mother still be revived?" Xiao Wu exclaimed.
"You were able to revive, weren't you? Why can't your mother? But resurrecting her will require god level strength."
Xiao Wu's eyes lit up. She had believed her final goal in life was to sacrifice herself to Qi Tian and entrust her revenge to him.
After all, with her own strength, she couldn't even defeat Tang San, let alone Tang Hao.
But now she heard there was a chance to revive her mother, and a new goal blossomed in her heart.
"Qi… Master, I will do everything I can to help you become a god!" Xiao Wu said firmly.
Qi Tian nodded. "Good. Do you want to go see Tang Hao?"
"Didn't you say he's been captured by Spirit Hall?" Xiao Wu asked.
"I'm in Spirit Hall now."
Qi Tian drew Xiao Wu back into his body and headed toward the Pope's Palace to find Bibi Dong.
When he arrived, Bibi Dong was in the middle of receiving a young girl.
The girl looked around sixteen or seventeen, with long black hair cascading down her back, a beautiful face, and enchanting, fox-like eyes.
She hadn't done anything in particular, merely stood quietly, yet a natural charm radiated from her like a blooming crimson rose.
Qi Tian glanced at her once and then withdrew his gaze. Compared to Bibi Dong's mature allure, the young girl's beauty couldn't pull his attention.
"What are you doing here?" Bibi Dong asked, slightly surprised.
"I want to check on Tang Hao's situation," Qi Tian replied.
"Very well. I'll have someone take you to the lowest level of the dungeon where the most dangerous prisoners are kept."
After speaking, Bibi Dong turned to the young girl. "Hu Liena, take him down to the deepest level of the prison."
So she was Hu Liena? Qi Tian cast her another look.
Hu Liena was also studying him quietly. Their eyes met in silent understanding.
But both of them were confident by nature, so neither looked away nor dodged.
Hu Liena nodded. "Yes, Your Holiness."
She couldn't help but notice that the Pope seemed slightly different today—less overbearing and more… womanly.
What puzzled her even more was that this boy had walked straight into the Pope's Palace, and yet Her Holiness wasn't angry at all. Just what was his identity?
Even as one of Spirit Hall's Golden Generation and the Pope's likely future disciple—with a real chance of inheriting her position—she didn't receive this kind of treatment.
Could this boy be… the Pope's newly accepted disciple?
Given Qi Tian's age, that was the only explanation she could reasonably come up with.
Hu Liena led Qi Tian out of the Pope's Palace toward Spirit City's dungeon.
The dungeon wasn't overly crowded. Those completely worthless fallen ones were simply thrown into Slaughter City.
Along the way, Hu Liena openly studied Qi Tian from head to toe.
"Are you Her Holiness the Pope's disciple?" she asked curiously.
Her voice carried a huskiness. Though it didn't quite match her seductive appearance, it added a strange, unique charm.
Qi Tian smiled. "Why do you think so?"
Isn't he? Hu Liena thought. Other than being a disciple, she couldn't think of any other identity that would earn such a gentle attitude from the Pope.
"Because Her Holiness's attitude toward you is… very special," Hu Liena said with a hint of envy.
"Oh? Maybe the Pope just thinks I'm pleasing to the eye," Qi Tian replied.
Truth be told, Hu Liena also found Qi Tian pleasing to the eye—she was a complete face lover.
Qi Tian didn't reveal anything about his actual relationship with Bibi Dong. He didn't want to damage her image.
If he said it out loud, Hu Liena would probably be scared silly. She'd have to call him… Grandmaster.
"Fine, don't tell me then. Oh, right—my name is Hu Liena. I still don't know yours," she said.
This boy clearly had a close relationship with her future teacher. Naturally, she wanted to build some connection with him.
Qi Tian told her his name, and they had already arrived at Tang Hao's cell.
Having just absorbed the Wisdom Skull, his spiritual power was extremely sharp. He sensed exactly what was happening inside the prison.
The scene was too shocking. He immediately reached out and tugged Hu Liena back.
Hu Liena reacted quickly and tried to dodge his hand—but to her surprise, she failed. Qi Tian's grip caught her hand and pulled her behind him in one smooth motion.
"What are you doing?"
Qi Tian released her and said, "Nothing. There's nothing here for you to handle. You can leave first."
"No. Her Holiness ordered me to bring you here. I can't just leave you alone," Hu Liena replied, her attitude firming instantly.
