"Left so fast."
After Hikari's projection disappeared, Natsuki looked at the empty room and sighed quietly.
Given the combat strength the enemies in this world had displayed so far, having those outstanding young juniors execute the mission would indeed be overkill.
Also, did this old soldier... really warrant that being's attention...?
Natsuki carefully examined the bangle on his right wrist for a while.
One thing was certain—the bangle's material came from that being, while the internal technology was designed by Hikari himself.
[Current Hell-Level Mental Space Training Duration: 8 hours]
[Start training? Yes/No]
"Hell training... training that can reawaken this body's potential." Natsuki stared at the semi-transparent screen that popped up on the bangle, contemplating.
He'd already experienced hell training once before.
That Babar pretending to be Seven had actually dared to ram him with a jeep—enough to show just how merciless this hell training was.
The training wasn't just hellish—it was completely absurd.
The benefit was that it genuinely could make him stronger.
"However... aside from Seven, the other Space Garrison members are all fairly normal. At least I don't recall anyone particularly outrageous."
"Seven left behind this dark history because he gave Leo special training back then."
"The other brothers don't have any dark histories regarding training. At least I don't remember any..."
After briefly thinking it through—
Natsuki's confidence grew considerably.
It's just training. How hard could it be?
Same thing he'd said before.
A million Space Garrison members—which one didn't he know?
"Besides that Babar Seven, who else would train me to death?" Natsuki's lips curled up confidently.
The Space Garrison's juniors were all talented youths who respected their elders. Nothing like that Babar Seven.
"It's just hell-level training."
"Come on!"
"I refuse to believe I'll be unlucky twice in a row!"
Natsuki grinned and initiated this round of hell training.
Soon, Natsuki's consciousness grew hazy.
Everything before his eyes vanished as his consciousness plunged into darkness.
[Please select primary training direction: Beam Techniques / Combat Skills / Psychic Powers]
[Currently Mastered Combat Skills: Spacium Beam (Intermediate), Ultra Slash (Intermediate), Ultra Psychic (Intermediate), Space Kenpo (Basic), Ultra Barrier (Basic), Crescent Light Bullet (Basic), Spacium Beam (Damaged) (Sealed)]
[Note: Above skills are all from the user's records in Space Garrison archives. Skills that have been revoked and can no longer be used are not displayed]
When Natsuki regained consciousness, he found this panel before him.
"At least there's no sucker punch this time." Natsuki touched the back of his head, finding none of the pain from last time. He nodded.
If actively entering training still meant getting sucker-punched, Natsuki would fight Hikari to the death.
"Beam techniques... combat skills... psychic powers." Standing in the pitch-black space, Natsuki looked at the panel before him, considering this training session's content.
Last time he'd trained psychic powers, and the corresponding instructor had been Seven the Babar.
So this time, psychic powers definitely had to be ruled out.
As for beam techniques and combat skills—
The Spacium Beam's power was already completely sufficient for this world. He hadn't yet encountered an enemy that couldn't be solved with one Spacium Beam.
That left only one choice—combat skills.
"After all, I'm on Earth with only three minutes of activity time."
"So how to make good use of those three minutes is crucial." Natsuki reasoned. "The faster I am, the more I can accomplish in those three minutes."
Therefore—
"I choose to train combat skills, preferably speed-oriented." Natsuki said.
[Current Primary Training Direction: Combat Skills (Speed-oriented)]
[Assigning instructor... Instructor assignment successful!]
[Training ground will switch in thirty seconds. Please prepare.]
[Note: Unless under special circumstances, cannot actively exit before training duration ends]
After making his choice, Natsuki took a deep breath.
Mentally preparing himself, he looked around, waiting for the environment to change.
This training could miraculously make him stronger, but if it were merely because it could make him stronger, he wouldn't have actively thrown himself into training.
What truly motivated him was Hikari's statement that the Land of Light would face dangerous powerful enemies again in the near future. He had a premonition those enemies would cause the Land of Light great trouble.
Since he now had hope of participating in that war, naturally he wouldn't pass up such an opportunity.
Those juniors who looked up to him—he couldn't disappoint them again.
"Come on!"
"Let me see who it is this time!"
Natsuki maintained a guarded posture against attacks that could come at any moment.
One second passed.
Two seconds... ten seconds...
"Hm?"
"Why hasn't this place changed?"
The thirty-second environment switch time had long passed. Why hadn't training started?
Natsuki looked around, finding it still pitch-black like when he'd first entered.
Besides the countdown overhead that hadn't moved an inch, he couldn't see anything.
A bug?
"What's going on?"
"How am I supposed to train in a place without a shred of 'light'?" Natsuki muttered to himself.
Suddenly!
Those words seemed to trigger some switch!
[Training begins! Current remaining time 07:59:59]
A figure covered in large areas of red, silver, and purple appeared behind Natsuki without warning, a transparent diamond-shaped crystal embedded in its forehead, perfectly proportioned physique, handsome features.
Ultraman Tiga.
"Who!?"
Sensing powerful energy appearing behind him and seeing the faint glow from behind, Natsuki immediately spun around.
But when he looked back, he found nothing there.
"Aah!!"
In just that brief moment of turning his head, Natsuki felt something attack his shoulder. Sharp pain made him grit his teeth.
The force sent him tumbling to the ground.
"Who the hell is it!?"
"This fighting style is way too underhanded!"
Natsuki endured the pain and climbed up from the ground, looking around, but found the space still pitch-black with nothing visible.
Tension rose in his heart.
This speed was no longer the level of ordinary Space Garrison members.
Among the members he knew, there were indeed a few extremely fast ones, but they didn't fight like this!
A bead of sweat involuntarily formed on Natsuki's forehead.
This guy... who exactly is he!?
