(Short Interlude)
The storm outside had quieted, but the air still buzzed faintly with static.
As Blaze and SK checked the perimeter, I caught movement at the edge of the mist — a lone figure, drifting closer through the ash-gray light.
"I'll take care of that one," I said, stepping forward, rifle raised.
But as the haze thinned, my breath caught.
The Shard's form began to change — plates of armor forming over its translucent body, a faint glow tracing its silhouette.
A sword shimmered into existence. A familiar stance.
The aura — calm, controlled, burning softly like blue fire.
Blaze's aura.
For a heartbeat, I froze.
The creature tilted its head, the mimicry eerily perfect — like a reflection learning to move on its own.
Shard: A void-born construct that imitates its opponent's appearance, abilities, and combat style. Each battle allows it to evolve — learning, adapting, and perfecting the strengths of those it faces.
And this one… had chosen Blaze.
