Alek, his master and Sam were making their way down the mountain. All three of them had been silent for a while.
Alek felt very ashamed for what happened so he finally spoke:
''Are you mad at me, master?'' he asked
''Not at all'' His master responded earnestly ''I should be mad at myself if anything.''
Alek was shocked
''But we failed the mission. Didn't you say that It would be bad if someone took the life stone?''
''Sometimes you fail missions, you should take that lesson to heart. Your life is way more important than some stone. They probably can't do anything with it anyway.''
Alek was very relieved to hear that.
''Couldn't you have beaten him up?'' Sam interupted ''I saw how strong you were back there, you probably could have knocked the guy out, before he did anything to the kid.''
''That man was different from those other adventurers.'' Alek's master responded ''I could feel he was dangerous. There was also another problem''
The man in a hoodie looked Sam in the eyes.
''You were hired to kill us. Do you know what is wrong with that?''
Sam thought for a second
''Murder is bad?'' he said unsure with a crooked smile
''That's not what I mean. Normally, you would be hired to get the life stone, not to kill somebody trying to get it. It implies that the person who hired you also hired someone else to retrieve it, someone who would be stronger than you. You were just a distraction. It also means that they knew how strong I was and they wanted me out of the picture.''
The man in a hoodie began to think intensely.
''Why would they want me dead?'' He said under his breath
While Alek's master was lost in though, Alek would ask Sam a ton of questions. ''Where did you get that gun? What is your favourite food?''. Sam would be slightly annoyed at their amount, but he was glad that someone was taking an interest in him. ''I bought it a long time ago. I really like chicken'' he would respond.
Before they knew it, they would arrive back at the teleportation spot.
''Can you get home by yourself from here, Alek?'' Asked the man in a hoodie
''I think I can'' Alek responded ''Do you need to go somewhere, Master?''
''Yeah, I need to take Sam to prison?''
''Prison!?'' Sam and Alek said in unison
''B-but I helped you out'' Sam said ''During the big fight, I shot at the stone.''
''Yeah, Sam isn't a bad guy.'' Alek added
''He tried to kill us. Did you forget?'' The man in a hoodie responded ''It's also rare to come across someone with an ability, so we need to check if he is dangerous.''
Alek and Sam couldn't object, but before they went their separate ways Alek's master turned to Sam and said:
''Also, I'm sorry about what I said before. I don't think your ability is useless, but It's clear that you are very far from reaching your full potential.'' He then pulled out a piece of paper, wrote on it and said ''Follow these directions when you get out and tell them I sent you. If you want, you won't have to kill for money again.''
Sam nodded his head with a nervous expression. Lastly, The man in a hoodie turned to Alek.
''We are going on another adventure tomorrow, Alek.''
''We are going on another adventure already?'' Alek asked
''Yes, meet me at the usual time.'' the man in the hoodie responded
Despite everything that happened that day, Alek was very excited for another adventure
''YES MASTER!'' he shouted
