" Detective! Detective!" Through his blurry vision, he recognized Captain Stacy's voice.
" Captain?" The detective said groggily before his eyes widen.
" My son! Where's ash!?" He shouted in alarm as he quickly pushed himself up to see a few medics putting Ash onto the stretcher.
With the help of Captain Stacy, the police officers and medics. Those that were effected by the gas were ushered to the hospital.
The result was broadcasted with a few news reports on television and newspaper. His display of heroism, and his destructive nature.

" If there's any sign your health is getting worse, come back for a check up."
" Yeah, I will. How's my dad?" I asked looking up at the nurse.
" Mr. Wolfe recovered faster and is currently waiting in the hallways." The nurse replied before leaving the room.

I blinked my eyes as I saw blue/green highlights passing outside the room and a yellow path leading outside.
" Welp, better get going." I whispered to myself as I held the doorknob and opened it to see my brother and Mom talking to one of the doctors.
" Ash!!" Mom immediately rushed and hugged me, the guilt in my chest swelled before forcing it down.
" I'm alright mom, sorry for worrying you." I said returning her hug.

Later that night.
Rule 34: Never involve innocents to accomplish the mission.
I closed the notebook and looked down at the building across the street.
An old church.
[ You've discovered abandoned church ]
[ Tier 1 Hideout ]
And it's my new safehouse that I got from the system.
With the grappling hook, I came down from the building and walked towards the entrance of the church. And as I pushed open the door and stepped inside.
I quickly pulled out my baton in alert as I observed the insides filled with broken pews and dust along with trash and graffiti.
I walked down the aisle and found the only unbroken pew and sat down, silently taking off my hoodie, goggles and balaclava.
I sat there silently, staring at the mask in my hand.
" How could you do that to dad!?" I threw the mask to the floor in anger, feeling regret and guilt as I come to realization of my action.
I felt like a hypocrite, no less than the people who would step over people to achieve their goals.
I held my face in my hand.
' I gotta be better…' I thought as I silently tilted my head towards the cracked statue lit by the moonlight through the stained glass.
I recognized the statue as St. Michael. The Archangel who defeats evil and protects the innocents.
' Maybe this is fate…' I thought in my heart as I bowed my head and closed my eyes.
For the first time in my two lives, I prayed.
[ St. Michael's blessing ]
[ Duration: 6 days; 23 hours; 56 min ]
[ +2 Luck, +10% Damage ]
After a few minutes of praying, this screen popped in front of me bringing a small bit of joy inside.
" Before moving on…. I gotta sort this out." I muttered as I stared at the screen.
[ 6 Stat points ]
[ Str: 8 | Agi: 9 | End: 6 | Int: 11| WIL: 12 | Cha: 8 | Lck: 0(+2) ]
' Thanks to St. Michael's blessing, it seems I've unlocked my lucky stat.'
[ Luck: fortunate encounters increase with stats; increases chance for critical damage. ]
' This could be useful….' I wondered as I pored four points into the new stat.
[ Luck: 0->4 (+2) ]
[ End: 6->8]
" Alright, I've increased ability to take hits. Next, the hideout." I got up and stretched my body.
Oddly enough, it feels I've gotten a large weight off of my shoulders before walking towards the highlighted wall.
A hidden entrance beyond a wall. I just need to find the hidden mechanism to open it. A few knocks here and there, it didn't take long to find the hollow brick and push it.
The wall slight popped out which means I had to manually pull it open.
I spotted the stairs leading down. Doing a quick look I spotted the torches on the wall and pulled out my lighter to light it.
" So this is a catacomb?" I sighed as I looked at the dust and spiderwebs and not to mention the old forgotten coffins.
I traced my hands across the old coffins as I explored the open catacomb.
" My very own batcave… Gotta give it another name…" I mumbled as I lit up the other torches in the room.
' I'll figure that out later.' I thought as I started thinking of ways to improve this hideout.
" Now, I gotta figure out on how I'll be able to make this a suitable hideout… need money though…" I sighed as I come to realized the time and effort I would need to make this place a proper hideout.

It was a bizarre experience to see the room you were standing in chance in a minute.
From a dusty old catacomb to a well built base.
[ Next Base upgrade: $5,000 ]
' 5,000 dollars…. Shouldn't take long if I keep completing mission.' After glancing at the numbers before taking one last glance at the base.
' I'll come back later in the weekend.' I planned on my head as I exited the church.
" Central to all units, we've got a 10-31 at quick stop market, 18** Fulcon street, Over"
" 3A12 to Central, three minutes out, Over."
" Central to 3A12, be advised. Silent alarm has been triggered by store clerk, Over"
" 3A12 Copy's all, over."
A store robbery, not far, at least two blocks away, faster if I ran across the rooftops with the grapple.
' This shouldn't take too long.'
