Chapter 49 - CHAPTER 49:Dress

dream of!

Why was this happening?

Stella's jealousy was driving her nearly insane, but she had to hold it together and not show her true feelings. Instead, she needed to work on building a good relationship with Ella to turn the situation around.

"Sister, I just saw a dress that would look perfect on you! Want to check it out?"

Stella leaned closer to Ella, but the latter disdainfully swatted her hand away.

"Come on, you should try it on! It would look great on you!"

"I'll try it too; maybe we can get matching outfits!"

The dress Stella was talking about was the one she had been eyeing and wanted to try on.

Ella's gaze fell on the black strapless mini dress, then back at the woman in front of her, who clearly had a skewed perception of herself. She couldn't help but ask, "Are you sure?"

Stella nodded eagerly and called over a sales associate.

"Excuse me, miss, but we only have one of this dress left. Which one of you would like to try it on first?"

"Of course, I was here first!"

Stella Grant confidently grabbed the dress, holding it close as she smiled smugly at her sister, Ella Grant. "The dress I like, there's no way my sister would want to steal it from me."

"Funny, because I really like it too," Ella replied, crossing her arms and looking relaxed.

Stella was taken aback; her sister clearly had no intention of backing down. Just then, Oliver Grant walked over, and Stella quickly put on a pitiful and helpless expression.

"Since you love this dress so much, why don't I just give it to you, sister?" Stella said, wiping her eyes as if she were about to cry.

Ella rolled her eyes. Why was Stella trying so hard to steal the spotlight?

As she thought this, Stella got even more animated, eagerly approaching Oliver as he neared.

"Brother, please don't blame my sister. I'm the one who wants to give her the dress, even though I really like it. But if she wants it..."

Oliver could hear the underlying message in Stella's words. It was clear she was upset that Ella was competing with her for the dress. But really, what was the big deal about a single dress? When did Stella become so petty?

Turning her head to glance at Ella Grant, Oliver couldn't help but notice the striking black mini skirt she wore. It instantly reminded him of that breathtaking moment from earlier in the afternoon; she was simply made for black.

"Yeah, you're right. That skirt really suits your sister," Oliver said casually.
