Everything was going according to the plan Megumi had devised. The goal wasn't just to move Rin, but to "correct" Erimi.
Fairy used to think Erimi calling her "wife" was just a joke between girls. But lately, she suspected Erimi might actually be a lesbian. Megumi's advice was simple: don't worry about whether Erimi is gay; just make it crystal clear that Fairy is straight.
If Erimi wasn't gay, it wouldn't matter. If she was, she needed to know she had no chance so they could avoid an awkward confrontation later. And the ultimate goal? "Straighten" Erimi out by using Rin.
"I didn't think you were so bold, Fairy! Bringing him here just to confess."
"Teehee... 'My name is Emily... use it when you propose.' So bold~"
Ami and Maki teased her as they stepped out of the shadows. Fairy turned beet-red. "It wasn't a confession! Stop talking!"
"I'm going to draw your face right now," Sagiri giggled, her usual silence replaced by newfound courage to tease her friend.
As for Erimi, she couldn't even force a smile.
"Stop laughing!!!" Fairy stormed back toward the hotel. "Now I know why Mom hates bugs. There are too many mosquitoes! Let's go back!"
Back at the hotel, it was only 11 PM. The soak in the hot spring had revitalized everyone. Fairy and Sagiri were night owls, and they were wide awake.
"Since everyone is so energetic, how about we play a game?" Fairy suggested.
Erimi snapped out of her trance. "Sure, Wife! I'll play whatever you want." She shot Rin a lethal look. "You can just go to bed by yourself!"
"Games are better with more people," Fairy said, pulling out her phone and opening a TRPG app. "I have character sheets ready. Let's play a campaign! We have mages, knights, bards... don't worry if you don't know the rules, you'll learn as we go."
They crowded around a large table in the dining hall. Rin sat down, and Fairy immediately "snatched" the seat next to him. Erimi sat across from them, sulking.
"I designed over ten classes. Pick whatever you want," Fairy said. "I'll be a Mage! The Dark Flame Fairy! Debut!" She kicked Rin gently under the table and showed him the screen. "You pick a class. Knight is good. Why don't you be a Knight and protect me?"
Rin saw through the plan. Fairy wanted him to be her protector to trigger Erimi.
"Sure, I'll be the Knight who protects you."
As expected, Erimi slammed her hands on the table. "No!!!! I... I want to be the Knight! And we need a Game Master (GM). Who's going to be the GM?"
Rin interrupted before Fairy could speak. "Let's play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Whoever loses is the GM."
Rin used his system-enhanced reflexes to wait until the last millisecond to see Erimi's hand. He intentionally "lost."
"Yay!" Erimi cheered, seeing her rock beat Rin's scissors. "Wife, I'll protect you~"
"I guess I'll be the GM then," Rin said with a fake sigh of disappointment.
In a normal game, the GM is just the narrator. But in an "R18 Pink Campaign" designed by Fairy, the GM is the "God" who decides the "punishments" and "rewards."
The party was set: Emily (Fairy) was an Elf Mage, Erimi was a Human Knight, Ami was a Priest, Maki was a Dwarf Rogue, Megumi was a Bard, and Sagiri was an Elf Archer.
"I named our group... Dawn!" Rin declared as the game began.
