Ender walked down the street of the capital city, watching the shops along the way. His steps stopped when he saw a store named 'Dulu's General Store'.
This was the place he was looking for. Ender walked into the general store, which looked quiet and had little business.
"Oh, Guard Sir, this small shop already paid the security fee three days ago. Why are you here?"
The store owner looked at him like he was bad news, suggesting the Guards often took advantage of him.
"I'm not here for money. Do you happen to have a certain type of plant..."
After sometime, Ender left the general store with a smile. The owner warmly walked him to the door, a sign that Ender had bought quite a few items.
Killing the Master of Mt. Colubo would be far from easy.
From Ender's memory, that tiger was at least several times the size of a regular tiger. It stood about four to five meters tall—a complete monster.
Ender did not go straight into the wilderness to find the Master of Mt. Colubo. Instead, he returned to the Guards headquarters first.
After wandering around the headquarters for a while, Ender went to the storage room where the supplies were kept.
Because of O'Car's death, the Guards were now without a leader. In just one morning, the guards were already starting to form separate groups.
Hank and O'Car's two close followers had each formed a group and were fighting behind the scenes.
Tomorrow night was the time to burn the Gray Terminal, so the palace would have to choose a new Head of the Guards today, or the big event would be affected.
In this confusing situation, Ender easily slipped into the storage room. After staying there for a while, Ender left the headquaters and walked toward Mt. Colubo.
Looking at the distant city gate Ender had sneaked in through that gate before. Now, it was very easy for him to leave the city; he just had to walk through openly.
The Gate Guards members saw Ender, nodded to him, and let him pass without asking any questions.
Passing through the city gate and past the Gray Terminal, Ender saw a large forest. This was Mt. Colubo, the place where the original story's main character, Luffy, grew up.
Walking into the forest, Ender clearly felt the air was much fresher, smelling of various plants. Unidentified birds chirped on the branches, and occasionally, some gentle plant-eating animals moved between the trees, not very afraid of humans.
Mt. Colubo was beautiful but also dangerous. Fierce beasts often appeared, and most people dared not go deep inside.
Ender walked through the empty forest with his hand on his knife handle. He looked relaxed but was actually alert to every sound around him.
The dense forest around him was not suitable to be Ender's "hunting ground." He needed a clearing.
The clearing didn't need to be huge, but it had to meet two conditions:
First, it needed water. The Goa Kingdom was on an island, and a lack of water was common on islands. Therefore, there wasn't much water on Mt. Colubo. If he found a water source, the chance of finding the giant tiger would increase a lot.
Second, the clearing needed to be covered with plants, which would make it easier for him to set up his trap.
Of course, the trap Ender planned to set was not just digging a pit to trick the Master of Mt. Colubo into falling in.
The soil of Mt. Colubo was not hard enough. For such a large creature, the pit would collapse unless the walls were reinforced with cement. If that happened, Ender would be the one trapped, unable to run.
The spot Ender needed for his trap was hard to find, but hard work pays off. After three hours of searching, Ender finally found the perfect location.
It was a clearing surrounded by trees. The ground was covered with green grass, and various wildflowers grew there, letting off a faint floral smell.
When Ender smelled the flowers, he frowned. The floral smell might affect his plan, but it also had benefits, as it could hide the scent of certain items he was placing.
Ender took a shovel from his Inventory, took off his shirt, and started digging holes in the clearing.
--
Two hours later, Ender was hiding in a large tree near the clearing. The clearing looked completely normal; the only difference was a few pieces of dry fruit placed randomly on the ground.
Sweat dripped down Ender's face. His bare chest showed his lean, strong muscles, which were smooth and not overly bulky.
In fact, men with huge, bulging muscles aren't ideal for fighting. While large muscles do increase strength, they also slow down speed and reduce flexibility, which is very bad for combat.
Ender had once tested this. He went to a famous boxing gym and fought their best coach.
Ender estimated that the coach, who had huge, knotty muscles, had at least twice his strength and was very fast when punching.
But after only five minutes, the coach, who was said to have won a city free-fighting championship, collapsed on the ground, his body twitching and making pained sounds that made some of the students feel pity.
Ender focused on training killing techniques, while the coach practiced competition fighting. The two were completely different.
If they followed the rules, Ender might not have won, but if they fought to the death, Ender could kill the coach in under two minutes.
The coach, seeing Ender's roughly 1.8-meter height and not very bulky body, had said, "No rules needed for a sparring match," which led to his end.
Ender sat on a thick branch, holding the Worn Flintlock (White).
The gun had three bullets left.
Ender had tried to reload the gun, but Reincarnation Paradise warned him that because the gun was so worn, loading it might cause the whole gun to break and become unusable.
This was likely a limitation because Ender had found the gun; he hadn't gotten it from a Treasure Chest.
After opening two White Treasure Chests, Ender had a basic understanding of some of the rules of Reincarnation Paradise.
Items gained from a Treasure Chest were usually special items that could be taken out of the derived world. Items picked up or gained during a mission, like his Dragon Slayer knife at his waist, only had a chance of being taken out of the derived world.
Through his initial attempts, Ender drew a few conclusions.
The Partial Data Mode of living things was just for guidance. For example, the concept of his Strength increasing from 6 to 7 made it very clear that he was getting stronger.
Things like Health could not be measured exactly; it was mostly calculated by a percentage. There would be no situation where he cut an enemy and saw them lose a specific number of health points.
The health bar that appeared above an enemy's head was mostly used to show the enemy's vitality. The more the health bar dropped, the weaker the enemy was.
If a fatal injury was dealt, the enemy would die immediately. Even if they had 100% Health left, the health bar would disappear instantly, and they would die.
The data formatting of equipment and items was even more interesting.
For example, he understood the durability and the added feature of his Dragon Slayer knife. The Attack Power, 5 to 16, referred to the weapon's sharpness and damage level.
The equipment's Rating was the most important thing, as it clearly showed the item's value.
After a few fights, Ender understood that although things were in Partial Data Mode, it was only to make it easier to guess strength. Everything was still based on reality, and nothing was turned into a game.
Partial Data Mode was there to show him his strength and the value of items more clearly.
This was the biggest help Reincarnation Paradise gave Ender.
