Osprey breathed deeply as he fired 14 more arrows consecutively.
Mori mumbled, "Shi." As a shockwave from the God Stick expanded, so powerful that the air could be seen visibly shifting around a 60 m radius of the circle.
Every arrow was deflected. The swirling pressure knocked them off course, sapping their momentum midair.
Over a kilometer away, Osprey squinted."There has to be an opening…" he muttered.
At the same time, Mori thought the same thing. "He's looking for an opening. He'll aim straight for my heart."
Osprey whispered to himself, "I'll go for his heart."
Without hesitation, he fired 15 arrows high into the sky, then kept going: 25, 60, 80, 140 arrows, one after another, shot so fast his fingers would shred if not for the metal guard wrapped around them.
Mori realized what was happening. "If I use the God Stick to block the arrows above me, Osprey will time a single, perfect shot for my heart."
Osprey knew, "The God Stick's shockwave is strong but simple. It pushes away projectiles in all directions, perfect for blocking groups, but if a precision attack is strong enough, it's not impossible to go through."
Mori looked up at the arrows blacking out the sky. He smiled grimly. "The second I push the shockwave up to block these, he'll shoot right through me."
So Mori increased the God Stick's power.
A huge spinning dome of wind erupted around him, 200 meters wide in every direction, a powerful hurricane of air that knocked away anything that came close.
While the hurricane raged, Osprey had already vanished from his previous location. He darted 100 meters to the right in just four seconds, widening the angle of attack.
He was now 1.3 km from the floating God Stick and 1.5 km from Mori himself.
Mori was 200 meters behind the God Stick at the edge of the hurricane. He held his ground, waiting until he found the right time to get closer.
Mori thought, "This can't last forever. The God Stick needs time to recharge. He knows I'll run out first. He has unlimited 3D-printed arrows, so I need to finish him soon."
The hurricane instantly disappeared as the air and mud cleared. Mori yelled, "WALL!"
The God Stick fell to a halt. A 70-meter-wide wall of compressed air slammed into place ahead of him, blocking a direct line of fire.
Mori took off at a sprint. Desperately determined, he dashed as fast as humanly possible, trying to close the distance to the God Stick before Osprey found a way around it.
He knew Osprey would try to bounce arrows around the wall. Any gap could be fatal.
As Mori lifted his hand, the God Stick snapped through the air, closing the 100 meters in a split second. It crashed into Mori's palm, drawn by a signal embedded in the metal piece hidden in his palm. In an instant, the weapon locked into place.
Mori laughed. "YOU MISSED YOUR CHANCE. NOW!"
As Mori slammed the God Stick toward his chest, his eyes glowed.
Mori activated God Stick Cloak, the second-to-last state before the weapon needed a few minutes to recharge.
In milliseconds, Mori was bombarded by 40 more arrows from Osprey. They bounced off the dense, one-inch-thick wind barrier effortlessly. Mori looked like a god in human clothing, untouchable, walking forward as if he had an invisible barrier around his body. This was the pinnacle of the God Stick's defensive capability—
PIERCER!
A powerful arrow tore through the wind barrier protecting Mori, making its way through his torso and leaving a gaping hole in his chest.
A deadly grin spread across Osprey's face as he yelled, firing 58 more arrows.
"Die, die, die."
We see Osprey's forearm, his muscles flexing as he releases the tension on the string. His arm is a testament to raw power, his tendons coiled like steel cables beneath the skin.
A true artist, the right hand of Mr. N himself.
