Chapter 61 - Elite Gaurd Meeting Begin(2)

In disgust, his lieutenant, 8Bit, squinted at him. "You should be ashamed, wearing that outfit and behaving like that."

His second lieutenant, Victor, remained silent, fully armed and alert. His earpiece, his suit and tie, and a briefcase. His professionalism made him stand out.

Whymzel unbuttoned his military jacket, slowly walking toward his seat beside Rank 4.

A smile spread across his face. His lieutenants followed close behind him.

They were late to the meeting.

Whymzel's expression changed as he glanced at the empty seat reserved for "Elite Guard Rank One" and let out a sharp whistle. "Someone's going to be in trouble."

He passed the empty seat of Rank Two without so much as a glance, refusing to acknowledge it, refusing to let it drain even a fraction of his energy.

He saw Elite Guard Rank 3 slapping him on the back. "TALENT MAN!" he smiled.

"Mexican… man…" Allen Pool whispered, annoyed. "Don't make me cut you to pieces."

As Whym did a little dance, "Always so feisty! I remember when you were this tall! Now you're… still THIS tall."

Chloé let out a choked laugh as she quickly caught herself.

Allen Pool lifted his head and looked at her. "You think that's funny?"

Allen Pool's young lieutenant, Davidz, took offense. "Say the word, and I'll CUT OUT her tongue, master."

"HUH?" As Chloé sees red, she pulls out her holy weapon. Allen Pool chokes on his spit as he steps in between the two of them.

Allen waved his hand. "Calm down, kid. It's fine. Warrior is the homie. Just don't push it, though, Chlo."

Chloé rolled her eyes and then apologized hesitantly.

Elite Guard Rank 4 looked at his lieutenant, Chloé, and smiled. A dark smile.

Allen whispered, however, "I can smell the Somali grease on you. How many Somali landmarks did you capture?"

The smile on Warrior's face broadened further.

"That's a story for another time. They destroyed my helicopter, so I had to swim back. Regardless, though, the war is over. It's time to relax, get revenge, and win Mr. N his presidency battle he's been so stressed about."

Whym walked past the Rank #4 chair as he saw La Mathesis. "Mathesis! Man! How have you been, huh? I heard you conquered an island on your own. Good on you, man."

La Mathesis had no response.

Warrior quickly took his seat at the Elite Guard Rank 5 chair as his second lieutenant, 8Bit, pulled the chair out for him.

Elite Guard Rank 4's lieutenant, Chloé, tried to hide her smile. She always had a crush on Warrior. It's so adorable how he doesn't care about what others think!

So Chloé stood there with her short stature, clutching her book, wearing all black in religious attire. As if she were attending a funeral.

"Avert thine eyes, C," Laym Dark-Eyed whispered. He was a tall man dressed in all black. Scary. The energy he gave off was oddly dark, darker than Elite Guard Rank 4 himself.

He held a book in his hand. The title being "The Voice of God."

Demisaux continued to text Sho, who was right behind him, on his phone, completely ignoring his second and new "Lieutenant."

Aspera finally arrived into the small courtroom, pushing the vertically long bathtub. Her hands trembled. Mr. N's instructions echoed in her head:

"Go on ahead, Aspera. Take Osprey. I just need a word with Liam and Siegfreed. Five minutes."

And Solomon's message followed right after. "I'm closing the medical bay. I'll join you all shortly."

Aspera stuttered while she was talking to Mr. N, but she couldn't say what she wanted to say. Her thoughts rushed through her mind. "I'm not defying orders, sir… but you know they don't respect me…" Aspera thought, the words tight in her chest.

Mr. N had only smirked, whispering as if reading her mind. "I can't imagine why."

The courtroom was cramped and tense. Five Elite Guards sat in a semicircle, each with two lieutenants standing at attention behind them.

Aspera sighed, acting nonchalant in an effort to keep up her usual gimmick. She walked toward her Rank #10 chair. This is punishment, she thought. Public humiliation… nothing less, all because I fucked up and convinced Osprey to leave the wall.

Most Elite Guards were somewhat silent, but there was still tension in the air as a lot of them recognized familiar faces.

Faces they had seen pretty often, as most of them knew each other from school.

But a few were unrecognizable.

James stood with a black eye covered by his eyepatch. He walked with crutches, his arm in a sling.

After snapping and seeing red against Demi, James fought with his life on the line.

His skill, or rather his determination, impressed Demi so much that he appointed him as his new lieutenant.

It was a quick fix, considering he had just killed his previous lieutenant, "Fina." This was a convenient way to draw attention away from the stark fact that he now had only one lieutenant.
